S3E2: Dead Man's Party

"It's angry at the room, Mom. t wants the room to suffer."

Zombies maybe?

"It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye." Considering I've seen pictures of Xander with an eyepatch I uess that's forehadowing?

Heh, they've got silly codenames and everything.

So the theme is how everyone's gotten their own lives while Buffy was away moping?

So they've been name-dropping the Mayor for quitea while, I assume he's one of the Big Bads?

Gah, that tinkly sad music thingie is like sandpaper to my ears.

...And something dead that I can't quite see what it is shows up.

Great, REd Eyes of Evil Mask.

Zombie-Cat!

... God that thing looks fake.

... And Ominous Dream.

And Zomibe Cat is back and there is awkwardness.

And party discussions. Oz. classification systems are.. Interesting.

... Somewhat of a miscmmunication regarding what kind of gathering/shindig/Hootenanny this was, methinks.

Zombie attack!

... And bad timing overheard conversation *sigh* I guess this episode is neccessary, but apart from Xander and Cordelia, and Oz, it's not fun.

To the Gilesmobile!

Important Conversation between Buffy and Willow.

And in-front-of-everyone argument with mom...

"No thanks, I'm good!" Heh.

Luckily Giles knows how to hotwire a car.

"Cordy! Get out of my shoes!" :P Cordy is love.

Nothing brings friends back together like zombies.

"How do we know it's you and not Zombie-Giles?"

"Cordelia, stop being tiresome!"

"It's him."

And now it's all hunky-dory again.

Giles just flat out threatening Snyder. Heh.

Death List:

Ricky (Drunk Drain Cleanser after aging)

Partygoer (Necksnapped by Zombie)

Pat (Eaten by Zombies)

S3E3: Faith, Hope and Trick

Willow is nervous.

Also, weird pronounction of prosciutto.

Also, Willow is matchmaking.

Ominous limousine.

She's having those hallucinations again.

"I think what my daughter is trying to say is "Nana nana nah nah!"

Willow discussing witching theory.

And continuing to matchmake.

So, this Faith person is killing vampires huh.

And she's not supposed to be likeable, I think.

Although she is funny.

Also Xander and Willow telling stories is funny.

So is Faith supposed to be "What Buffy would have been without friends?"

So we have this demon mob boss with his wannabee hacker subordinate?

... And Faith has anger issues.

Giles being all wistful about the Watcher's Retreat is hilarious.

And more Angel-mopage.

If he's so old, you'd think Buffy would mention that she's killed THE OLDEST VAMPIRE EVER. Or something?

Heh, Chaffeur guy has no loyalty.

And she comes clean about the entie Angel thing.

Oooh, Naked Angel.

Death List:

Ricky (Drunk Drain Cleanser after aging)

Partygoer (Necksnapped by Zombie)

Pat (Eaten by Zombies)

Fast Food guy (Eaten by limo)

Pizza Guy (eaten by Mr. Trick & Pals)

Yeah, the Watchers' Council is basically just Rent-A-Patriarchy. Sometimes fun, but consistent-worldbuilding FAIL.

Hey now! You know there are a couple of women on the council! Progress!!!

Eh, they are British. It's like a short-hand. The rest fills itself in automagically.

Before we get too far past Anne, it's worth pointing out what I know is one of Datepalm's favourite moments in the series - the bit where Buffy is fighting off the oppressive demonic factory owners armed with - yes - a hammer AND a sickle. Gogo symbolism! :D :commie:

S3E4: Beauty and the Beasts

Willow is reading "Call of the Wild" to Oz. Sounds like a bad move.

Xander is werewolfsitting huh. This can't end up well.

And some relationship stuff.

Okay, school counsellor is giving of a decent vibe. So he's probably evil.

In situations like this you'd think they'd install a camera or something.

.. Okay.

Angel seems to have found pants somewhere.

So Buffy's keeping Angel chained up in a dark space? Kinky.

Meaningful Conversations.

"There's fruit in it!"

"Those are marshmallows."

Huh, so he wasn't evil. Just a victim.

Green bubbly stuff and random other people are evil or something?

Ah, it's Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde.

Bah, I was hoping for Hyde Vs. Werewolf.

I'm noticing that while they still do the entire "Monster of the Week SOcial Issue" thing they tend to do it more horror than the relatively lightweight cheese they did in S1.

Oh, Angel is loose.

Oh wait, we WILL get Hyde Vs. Werewolf! Whee!

Damn Ugly Werewolf.

And Feral Angel to the rescue!

Death List:

Ricky (Drunk Drain Cleanser after aging)

Partygoer (Necksnapped by Zombie)

Pat (Eaten by Zombies)

Fast Food guy (Eaten by limo)

Pizza Guy (eaten by Mr. Trick & Pals)

Jeff (Terribly Mauled)

Mr. Platt (lost his eyes)

Debbie (Domestic Abuse)

Pete (Killed by a Feral Angel)

S3E5: Homecoming

Some kind of dance thing is going on. (I've never been able to figure out all the various types of dances that show up in these american shows, what's the difference betwen homecoming, sadie hawkins, prom, etc?)

Angel is pacing.

And she's feeding him a bottle of blood.

And moping over their complex love life. (Angel's apparently more lucid now)

And that guy she was kinda seeing was written out. Like zap.

Someone is watching Buffy with binoculars though!

Oooh, the chaffeur is back.

Meet the Mayor, he seems creepily cheerful.

Cordelia is running for... Something.

And Buffy gets huffy and joins in.

They're going to run negative campaigns and both lose aren't they?

And Chaffeur is running a Slayer Murder festival, with the surviing Gorch brother! And a spiny looking guy!

Xander and Willow are still having UST.

ROFLMAO "Xander" is listed as one of Cordelia's weaknesses.

"As Willow goes, so goes my nation."

MONTAGE!

"Let's not say anything we'll regret!"

"Crazy freak!"

"Vapid whore!"

"Like that!"

And Xander and Willow are still having UST. Seriously, even though I know it's futile I still ship those two. Then again, I ship WIllow with everyone.

And the Slayerfest begins!

Only they got Cordelia rather than Faith.

"We have to find Buffy! Something terrible is happening! ... Just kidding, are those finger-sandwhiches?"

Fight scen and Meaningful Conversation.

... And chaffeur is arrested.

... And a vampire was staked with a Spatula. Guess Cordy's choice in weapons wasn't that bad after all!

And Cordelia stares down a vampire. Fucking badass.

And yep, none of them won.

Death List:

Ricky (Drunk Drain Cleanser after aging)

Partygoer (Necksnapped by Zombie)

Pat (Eaten by Zombies)

Fast Food guy (Eaten by limo)

Pizza Guy (eaten by Mr. Trick & Pals)

Jeff (Terribly Mauled)

Mr. Platt (lost his eyes)

Debbie (Domestic Abuse)

Pete (Killed by a Feral Angel)

Two germans (friendly fire)

Homecoming is a fall dance, usually the same weekend as the last home football game of the season, and all alumni are invited. Its a way of getting people to make donations. High schools and colleges both have homecomings.

Prom is a spring dance, pretty much just for the hell of it.

Sadie hawkins is a dance where women have to ask the men out and can happen whenever. I don't know if these still happen though, I never had one in high school.
