Broken Fox
Here it is http://img.gawkerass...g/ku-xlarge.jpg(source: http://grrm.livejour...com/327569.html)That's a gnarly looking throne. Far more barbaric and brutal than I pictured it. Really, really cool.
Ramsay B.
Yeah it is way more brutal. A lot bigger than we all thought too, I'm sure. It's fucking huge.
Lehnaru
That's exactly how I imagined it! It looks so much better than the comparatively pathetic HBO version. That is a throne worth fighting for.
C0bR
I like it a lot. I will be sadder when it gets melted with the instituion it represents collapsing.
Tumnas the Torpid
A magnificent monstrosity, like some fell beast hanging over the king.
Vuron
I love GRRM, but sometimes he seems to have a real problem with scale. That throne, like the wall and the size of the continents, is bordering on the ridiculous. It looks awesome, though. Can you imagine Robert's fat ass climbing those steps to sit on it? Ser Luke.
Jesus that thing is huge. Not at all how I pictured it, but awesome nonetheless.
tallTale
Honestly I like the HBO throne better because it feels more realistic.
TepidHands
Lord Varys: A thousand blades, taken from the hands of Aegon's fallen enemies. Forged in the fiery breath of Balerion the Dread. Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish: There aren't a thousand blades. There aren't even two hundred. I've counted.I know it's not book canon, but what a great scene. FuriousGeorge
I agree with the throne and the size of the continents, but what's wrong with the wall? The size of the wall is something that GRRM specifically said he wished he had made smaller once HBO started GoT because it just felt ridiculous seeing them trying to visually depict a wall 700ft high, and it also raises questions about why Westerosi society can't do other things if they have the engineering/magical ability to build that. I don't see why the continent sizing is ridiculous? Land masses are big generally speaking, like, really big.
