Lady Nastja
Why don't you tell us what you think first.Otherwise, this, for reference. Has all the answers you need.OP, I would suggest you read this. As Lyanna Stark has already said, it had all of the answers that you need, and perhaps a thread was not really required.
Four-Eyed Crow
I personally think he shows a lot of contempt for women, and it kind of ruins his character for me. I can overlook a lot, but rank chauvinism of the sort Tyrion displays is a big barrier to me rooting for his character.
aceluby
He takes after his father that way... but really... almost everybody is.

Kittykatknits
I'm curious to see someone try and build an argument that Tyrion is not.
Mad Monkey
Well, he doesn't actively mistreat all women, and on a sliding scale of misogyny he's not as bad off as Randyll Tarly or Stannis Baratheon.
binga
He doesn't mean to be sexist, he is put into bad positions by a society where everyone hates him.
James Sucellus
Tired of all these threads applying 21st century morality to medieval times. Find me a man in medieval society that wasn't "sexist". Even Ned believed women were the gentler sex and should stick to their duties.

RhaenysBee
Really, what if he is? Does that honestly matter? Will that make anybody like him less? ASOIAF is a world ruled by men, about everybody is sexist and it's just right like that, since that's how this story is. :dunno:
Pero the first of His name
Tyrion is not nearly sexist as most of your answers suggest. He never expresses an opinion that the other gender is generally stupid, uncapable or less worthy. In that aspect he is no more sexist than people named in the ``most noble people in Westeros`` thread (regarding general Westerosi culture). He does mistreat prostitutes and sex slaves, but that is a separate thing.Lets put it this way, if he was homosexual and all his sexual actions have been done to men what then?He does push his sexual dominion too much and it is somewhat sexist and comes across as even more sexist but that is just presenting power in a bad way and being very horny (wrong things nontheless, one more than the other)So, yes, sexist somewhat but not even nearly as most of you say.His father`s lessons, his appearance being repulsive to woman but at the same time rich and powerful, lack of a good and strong female influence in life and dealing with many stupid and crazy women in his travels (being honest) are big factors in why he became this way. I blame him for not seeing through this as a very intelligent man that he is and not trying to grow and be better nontheless.Once again noting, thinking one sex is generally lesser is different from being abusive sexually in many cases. And also, being sexist also differs from holding a grudge against women. Some things are more complicated than what most of you think judging by the simplicity of your judging. Those re-reads are a good thing and i have been through that one.But please do not say things like ``everything is there`` and present whatever a couple people that are renown on this forum said to be written in stone as that happens too much on this forum. l3ol3o
Yes Tyrions views on women seem to be shaped by his experiences with women or lack of experiences. He never had a mother. The most influential woman in his life was Cersei who absolutely hated him. He thought his first wife was a whore for years who just married him for his gold. Tywin drilled it in his head that he will only be loved for his gold and never truly loved. This isn't an excuse but reasoning for why he's the way he is. He has never really had a positive female influence in his life.
