So I have to ask and please forgive my ignorance. So do about 30 books come out a month? With around 300+ titles a year?

I always imagined way more books came out than that.

There are a lot more. These are only SFF titles, and far from all expected to be published in this period in the genre.

Go forth and start the thread. We normally start it around this time of year anyway, if not earlier.

And this is why I didn't want to be the one to start it:

I've added a few more books to my original post. :)

because I knew ATB, or you, or Jussi would take much better care of it than I would :) My posts in these threads are more reactionary than they are informative.

Wert, under "hopefully 2014" we should add The Unholy Consult. Maybe even Winds of Winter :)

The Unholy Consult is possible for late 2014. The Winds of Winter is not. I wouldn't even seriously start looking at a release date for that until late 2015 at the earliest, unless GRRM gives us another update in the meantime.

THE WAY TO BABYLON, RIDING THE UNICORN and A DIFFERENT KINGDOM by Paul Kearney (omnibus) (early in 2014)

Ben Smith, Publishing Manager of Solaris Books, has acquired rights to three backlist titles by fantasy novelist Paul Kearney: THE WAY TO BABYLON, RIDING THE UNICORN and A DIFFERENT KINGDOM. They will be published as an omnibus early in 2014.

http://www.johnjarro...r-paul-kearney/

I'm confused because amazon now lists A Different Kingdom as a single novel publication instead of an omnibus -

http://www.amazon.com/Different-Kingdom-Paul-Kearney/dp/1781081867/

A Different Kingdom by Paul Kearney

Publisher: Solaris (January 29, 2014)

Anyway,here is the new blurb:

A different kingdom of wolves, woods and stranger, darker, creatures lies in wait for Michael Fay in the woods at the bottom of his family's farm.

Michael Fay is a normal boy, living with his grandparents on their family farm in rural Ireland. In the woods there are wolves; and other things, dangerous things. He doesn’t tell his family, not even his Aunt Rose, his closest friend.

And then, as Michael wanders through the trees, he finds himself in the Other Place. There are strange people, and monsters, and a girl called Cat.

When the wolves follow him from the Other Place to his family’s doorstep, Michael must choose between locking the doors and looking away – or following Cat on an adventure that may take an entire lifetime in the Other Place.

This is Paul Kearney’s masterpiece.

But according to Wikipedia: 'The Winds of Winter is tentatively planned for release in 2014.'

On books that haven't been released yet, I'd trust Wikipedia even less than Amazon about a release date.

AncalagonTheBlack, that's odd about the Kearney. I can't really see Solaris publishing the books individually when they didn't for The Monarchies of God. Another Amazon hiccup?

On the list it has Sword of the North US Pub listed as March. Grim Company doesn't even come out here until next month. Should that say UK Pub?

Lets not even joke about this. I won't expect this until 2016 at the earliest.

Sword of the North isn't finished yet. It definitely isn't out anywhere in March.

That's too pessimistic! I expect it to be out in late 2014 at the earliest and mid 2015 at the latest.

I believe that Steven Erickson has a novel coming up sometime in April of next year. The second book of a prequel trilogy I believe.

Don't tease me. If both of these books came out in 2014 I'd probably go into spasms of ecstasy.
