Wolf Girl
Okay, I've been popping into these Goodkind threads for a while now and I just have to ask it. IS THIS FOR REAL? I mean...these are REAL books? REAL, ACTUAL quotes? The chicken that was not a chicken? This isn't a fake? Seriously? (Sorry...my incredulity and sense of decency overwhelmed me for a minute there.) Jaxom 1974
Welcome to the reality that is not reality of Terry Goodkind, Lady L!
Asa
Stop oppressing Terry Goodkind. He has feelings that are not feelings just like everybody else.
Zadok
WTF?! Please, what the hell is that about? As bad as it sounds, it's just really poor writing. Kahlan pined for 3 or 4 paragraphs about how she should trust Richard, and why she understood why he was mad at her. This was the last sentence of those paragraphs. Apparently Richard had told her about the chicken that was not a chicken but she didn't believe him(there was no mention of this for about a page before she busted out with the "but a chicken..." line. Bazzlebane
Sounds like it's time for you to read threads Goodkind I-III. This has been going on for a while.
Watcher
For those that haven't read Wizard's First Rule, I found a site where the ultra-condensed version is given: I think it sums the book up nicly and saves you from tearing your eyes out. http://rinkworks.com/bookaminute/b/goodkind.firstrule.shtml Remember: Fire is Bad His ultra-condensed version of Good Omens is spot-on also
BranTheBuilder
This isn't a fake? Seriously? sadly its true - he takes up moor room in my local bookshop than GRRM, Bakker and Reynolds combined... edit, has anyone heard how TG and Mystar's tryste went? I'm curious to see if TG made any more gaffs, or if Ms informed him of our insidious existance.
Dothwacky
As one who normally sits back and enjoys the humour, got stopped in my tracks about half an hour ago in a poli thread on another forum... << Someone who harbors disdain for Ayn Rand must have a problem with the idea that Democracy is the best form of government. Brys
A contest Goodkind should enter - I'm sure that Goodkind can win it. I think "I wonder what's bothering the chickens" is a pretty terrible opening line.
Xray the Enforcer
I just found this thread and spent over half an hour reading. That's powerful stuff. I also recommend The Insane World of Terry Goodkind Threads I-III. You will find Mme. Erzulie's sporkings, Bakker's "jealousy," a battle of the witless, and so much more! Werthead
As one who normally sits back and enjoys the humour, got stopped in my tracks about half an hour ago in a poli thread on another forum... << Someone who harbors disdain for Ayn Rand must have a problem with the idea that Democracy is the best form of government. That's all. >> They are spreading. I wouldn't have a problem with his politics if the guy could write. I don't really agree with China Mieville, Dan Simmons or Orson Scott Cards' politics, but they can all write decently.
Larry.
Ya know, I can't believe mystar didn't post this here, as I saw it during a cursory check of Wotism (just seeing if wotmania has more life than other WoT sites, I suppose ). Wow, pay $25 AND whatever the book costs or the transport costs and you get Goodkind's autograph (and a few extra goodies such as listening to him talk at length about the global socialist conspiracy to infect him with bird flu, perhaps)! I feel so left out...most authors just travel around to a few cities, but he lets all the action come to him! I wonder why...
Brys
You know it is tempting to actually go to that and ask him questions - like "what do you believe the role of chickens that are not chickens are in modern society?" or "should we kick every irritating 8-year-old girl in the teeth?" or "do you think we should have shot down the anti-war protesters in London in 2003?". Perhaps something less controversial "Why did you choose to write fantasy?" But then, it costs money, and that money might be going to Goodkind. What I don't understand is why he didn't post that on GioG. They're surely the most dedicated and enthusiastic Goodkind fans on the net. a top author is great reason Oh, so no reason to go then. Also entertaining to see that in those forums there is a thread entitled "Who hates Terry Goodkind", and in the main Sword of Truth thread there is a vast majority who dislike/hate SoT. So as you can tell, it will be far more receptive and amenable to meeting Goodkind.
Zadok
I'd like to share a short story of how Terry has touched me. Last night I was reading Perdido Street Station and came across this: He could not see its shape. Only its dark, glistening skin and hands that clutched like a child's. Cold shadows. Eyes that were not eyes It took about 5 minutes of chuckling to myself before I was able to continue. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to read "an X that was not X" again without cracking up. ChaosTheory
I know exactly what you mean. A colleague happened to look out of the window earlier and commented on the strange bird in the yeard...sorry yard, before I could help myself I asked..."I hope it's not a chicken that isn't a chicken..." Needless to say she hasn't spoken to me since...no she isn't a TG fan, she just didn't know what the heck I was on about!
Moosicus
I read the "chicken that is not a chicken" passage to my girlfriend. She laughed her ass off until she noticed all the Goodkind books on my shelf. Now she's worried that I may be retarded.

Needless to say she hasn't spoken to me since...no she isn't a TG fan, she just didn't know what the heck I was on about! I can't believe my eyes that are not eyes. You have the audacity to make fun of TG, the only man with the courage to stand up and warn people about the growing menace of poultry? If I ever get my hands that are not hands on you....Well, you'll learn how wrong you were when you have a chicken latched onto your face with its beak lodged in your brain. They're organizing...they've been counting the chicken nuggets and they want payback for each and every one. P.S.- I'm beginning to suspect that H5N1 bird flu was engineered by a TG fan as a pre-emptive strike in the coming war against the chickens. Rimmer
Has anyone here got Chainfire? For the next quote of the day, can we please have the part when Nicci gets Richard to unzip her dress so that the bad men escorting her into the enemy camp will be looking at her boobs too much to recognise her face?
