If you could change your name to one from ASOIAF, which one would you choose?

Easy question. If you could change your name, to one from the ASOIAF books, which would it be?

For me the answer is crystal clear. The most epic name:

Dickon Manwoody

Arya is a name for men in India, so that is my first preference.

Otherwise, Stannis. The name carries weight, doesn't it?

I love the name Arya. But I obviously identify with Ser Illifer the Penniless (despite me being a girl, but whatevs), because it's a cool name and well, I'm penniless.

Not exactly on topic, but I noticed a birth announcement in my local paper a few weeks back a couple who had named their DD Sansa.

That's uncharacteristically observant of you. And I've avoided answering the question. ;)

Now to answer your question Ghiscari is the Old Empire that was prevalent in Essos before Valyria. Their customs and traditions continue in the slaver's bay, in the cities Dany sacked - Astapor, Yunkai and Mereen. The strange names come from there.

Ghiscari = language ;)

you're about to write your 1000th post in ghiscari language should be a nice tongue twister.

... uncharacteristically observant of you... no, I don't ask. :dunno:

I would kill to have the name Oberyn or Victarion! Badassery just oozes out of those names.

FYI, I'm planning to name my daughter Sansa as well :D

Wouldn't mind changing mine to either Myrcella or Shireen -- such lovely names.

I like the name Catelyn, but I dislike how the pronounce it on the GOT series. When reading the books I would read it as Katelyn in my head, I'm from Ireland and I love Celtic names, Catelyn does sound Celtic?.

I wouldn't change my first name for any name in the world.(Daphne)

BUT I'd love my last name to be changed to Dayne.
