caspian
I was watching "The Four Feathers" this weekend and thought Tim Pigott-Smith was just born to play Tywin Lannister. Here's his filmography on imdb. I think if they ever put ASOIAF on film, it would have to be a miniseries spanning a couple seasons, at least. Even a bunch of 3-hour movies like LOTR wouldn't be enough to do the story justice. It's just too long and complex. Oh, I also like Gerard McSorley as Ser Mormont possibly, and maybe Michael Wincott as as Ilyn Payne or the Hound (though he may be too skinny) or better yet, Roose Bolton

TheHalfman
Well I've thought of this before, but I won't take the time to post them all right now. But I think that Ian Holm would play a good Littlefinger. (See avatar)

TheHalfman
nah, too old and not a creepy enough smile. I mean come on he was Bilbo fucking Baggins I don't think he's too old really. And as for not creepy, From Hell and Alien .
Paul H
I don't think he's too old really. And as for not creepy, From Hell and Alien . First, this is probably the thousandth time this "cast" thing has been brought up. Second. Littlefinger is probably about 35-45 years old, while Ian Holms is like what? 60? TheHalfman
It's been a while since I read the books, I don't remember the ages exactly. I know I probably sound a little stupid here or something. I'd have to see a recent photo of Holm to really judge. If 30+ year olds can get off playing high school freshman and the like, Holm could play LF. ((Just looked up recent pic of him and looking rather old, I still think it could be pulled off though.)) wicked_felina
I've been working on this with some equally obsessed people for a while now (just stating to anyone listening that this is not all my doing). It's star-studded, would cost billions to produce, and would probably suck if it was made. I wrote this out somewhere else on the board, and recently too (there are a lot of movie topics out there), but I can't find it, so (takes a deep breath) here I go again. The Squisher Queen
Without reading through all the posts . . . Jon Snow - Jake Gyllenhaal Ser Jorah - Jeremy Irons Cersei - can't think of her name, I want to say Polly Walker, but the lady who plays Atia in Rome. Ser Loras - Orlando Bloom Jaime - Josh Holloway (from Lost) Catalyn - Cate Blanchett Eddard - Eric Bana Robb - Heath Ledger Theon - Ioan Gruffudd Edmure Tully - Sean Bean Barristan the Bold - Sean Connery Maester Aemon - Peter O'Toole (saw someone else put that, scrolling down, and I second) Mad King Aerys - Ian Holme (I imagine Aerys as old. Hmm) Victarion - Clive Owen Qyburn - the fella who plays Locke on Lost Renly - James Purefoy

A Time for Wolves
Theon - Garrett Hedlund. The guy from Four Brothers who plays the fourth brother. He just looks like a Theon. A much younger Susan Sarandon could play Catelyn. Ralph Fiennes could possibly play Ned. I liked him as Heathcliff, hated him as Voldemort. I think Sean Bean would be great as Ned. A very young (around The Parent Trap age, maybe a little older) Lindsay Lohan would have been a perfect Sansa, before she grew up to be anorexic and disappointing. I can think of nobody suited to play Arya. :S Caroline Chikezie (unknown but hot) as Alalaya or whatever Chataya's daughter's name is. Cersei - Charlize Theron, but she's too sweet-looking. Her face is beautiful and feline though, which is how Cersei's face should be. And she's a great actress, so I think she could pull off Cersei anyway. Khal Drogo - The guy who plays the Scorpion King. The wrestler guy I forgot his name. The Blackfish - Russell Crowe or Mel Gibson Robert Baratheon - Russell Crowe Margaery Tyrell - Keira Knightley. Emma Watson is a good choice for this role...certainly more suited to Margaery than Hermione. Loras Tyrell - Orlando Bloom Renly Baratheon - Hugh Jackman when he was younger And I can think of no one for Jaime.
TheHalfman
Khal Drogo - The guy who plays the Scorpion King. The wrestler guy I forgot his name. A Time for Wolves
I don't know but everytime i think of Stannis the first name to come to mind is Patrick Stewart. He's perfect, actually! But there's no one I can think of to play Jaime or Arya. I think a teenaged Kate Moss would have been perfect as Daenerys.
BabberSher
Truthfully, film/TV Executives suck... So, they would probably go with the current teen trend and this is how the movie/series would've been cast: Sansa - Lindsey Lohan Arya - Hillary Duff Cersei - Jessica Simpson Margery - Paris Hilton Eddard Stark - Tom Cruise Ser Loras - Orlando Bloom Jaime - The guy from the 'O.C.' Catalyn - Ashley Simpson Robb - The kid from 'High School Musical' Theon - some Backstreet boy Messilendre - the famous eskimo actor Jennifer Love Hewwitt (lol @ Family Guy reference) Jon Snow - Justin Timberlake Seriously, be thankful that no deal has been made for a TV/Show
