Well for Robert and Rhaegar they'll be 54Mm if I remember well

and for the wolves I thought Robb's scene was from the Whispering Woods, anyway when the wolves arrive on the scene of Bran/wildlings the wildlings are quite scared and I think the wolves are already quite the size of a normal wolf.

Dunno I have mixed feelings, are you sure they are going to make another Robb/Grey Wind scene...I mean comon if they don't we'll have a puppy wolf instead of the scene everybody wants.

It'd be better and for fans and for testors to have the whispering wood scene and the wolf much bigger imho... if die hard fans are frustrated with the wolves they'll have a hard time to convince "just fans" no?

Yes, Robert and Rhaegar are 54 mm metal, sculpted by Tom Meier.

I must repeat that the largest known species of wolf stands 80cm. That's not a lot. The sculped direwolves look as if they are as large or larger. Sounds like exactly the correct size to me.

Patryn,

Robb was in armor at the Whispering Wood. He wasn't in armor when he fought the wildlings in the wolfswood, and I believe Jamie Sims (on whose design the sculpture is based) said it was from the wolfswood. :)

thx for the info Ran...

I hope testors will have enough success with their fig so they can make make more heroic ones :/ but then I fear we won't see much more of Robb :/

I so wish direwolves would be closer to this:

I know happy Ent that wolves don't go over 90cm but I think somewhere in the book they say direwolf have the size of a pony or maybe I'm dreaming :D

Well if they can fix sansa and Ned's face and Robb's hairs I'll be happy and get them all anyway but well better get opinions heard now before it's too late ;)

Happy Ent,

Actually that's pretty damn big. Some of the North American wolves that feed on very big prey reach the biggest size, and they are imposing to look at. The wolves on the statues don't even look that big.

We have learned in the books that "Adult direwolves are as large as a pony, twice as big as a large hound".

Also:

"

A direwolf little more than a year and a half old is half again as large as two well-fed and strong adult wolves".

However, Ran is correct in pointing out that the scenes are all AGOT scenes in which the wolves could still be quite small, so in retrospect it doesn't really have to be an issue (other than that I would personally have preferred the artists to give some hint about the special nature and look of the animals).

Ah yes, form of the direwolves is another matter. I certainly would want them to not just be a bigger wolf. They need different anatomy. I am right behind that. But the size of the sculpted young direwolves is fine (for their age, of course): I imagined them to be as big as an adult (normal) wolf.

Just like the Starks need some kind of distinguishing "Stark look". I think somewhere I saw the green for a Jon Snow miniature (by Tom Meier?) that tried to do that.

There's two Stark looks -- the one shared by Ned, Arya, Jon, Benjen, and presumably Rickard, Lyanna, and Brandon; and the one shared by Catelyn and the other children, which is more of the Tully look. I think I can see a definite Tully resemblance, particularly in Robb and Cat. NEd's hard to tell. Jon definitely did have the long, Stark face, though.

After viewing the respones to the previews I thought that I should post a response to some of the points you guys have raised.

Let me start off by saying that we really appreciate what everyone has to say and we respect the fan's devotion to George's work.

What we have also come to understand and appreaciate is that there will always be someone who has a different interpretation of a particular character and to satisfy everyone completly we would have to do as many variations of a character as there are fans for that charcter.

We do strive to obatin as much accuracy as possible when it comes to certain details about a particular character or scene and push to obatin 'realistic' quality in the pieces we do end up producing. However we will make mistakes and I'm quite sure that all of you will be happy to point those out to us when they occur and for that we are greatful. :)

We are confiedent that with each new release our artists, sculptors, designers and painters will become more knowledgeable with the world we are creating and much of what we do will become second nature. Unfortunately no matter how much time and energy you spend revising a piece we will undoubtadely look at something the very moment it is released and say, "Oh , xxxx! We forgot such and such or It would have been nice to have included that, and etc. It is quite possible to spend a great deal of time, money and energy second guessing every detail of a piece and never get the piece that makes everyone completly satisfied. Instead we hope that along the way will be able to create various pieces that will appeal to various people so that everyone has at least one piece that they feel is absloutely perfect to them.

Now with that said let me address some of the questions/concerns that have been raised.

1) Wolves - while we realize that direwolves are indeed expected to be much larger then a normal wolf the ones depicted here are essentially pups. Yes there are differences ibetween normal wolves and dire wolves buth the differences in the wolves anatomy as described in the books are rather subtle. The wolves that we have depicted here are all out of aGoT and as such they are still quite young but still rather large for their ages. When we get into later scenes, which we will, you will be able to see a very distinct differences in the wolves as they take more aspects of a dire wolf which will be primarily be thier size but the larger size also will allow for the more subtle differences to show through as well.

2)Rob - this scene depicts Rob in the Wolf's wood, not the Whispering woods. The hair style that is depicted here actually comes from a very direct comment by George as he reffered to Rob has having "sort of moppy hair".

3) Sansa - yes we undertsand that she requires some additional work in fact all of the pieces that are depicted here in the group shot are pieces that were made in an earlier stage of development. This is one of reasons why I wanted to be sure that the caveat regarding the figures was posted along with images. Sansa will resemble Cat much more in the newer revisons.

4) Ned- Ice is actually being sculpted by a seperate artisan and will be cast in metal with a dark metalic plating. The sword here was a basic resin 'fill -in' It is also the same sword the Rob has in the painted figure.

5)Pricing and availability.

Someone commented that they thought the price was too much. To our knowledge no official pricing has been quoted for the resin pieces. If there is any information out there to the contrary please let me know. What I can tell you is that based on our current projections all of the resin figures will likely be priced in the $24.99 - $49.99 range with a piece like Rob being at the top of the scale.

Once we have finalized are prices we will begin accepting pre-orders. We also encourage you to visit you local book stores, hobby shop or comic/game stores and make inquiries as whether they plan on carring these these. many stores may not even consider getting something like this from thier distrbutors but if people ask about they will give it a second glance, especially if you indicate that your willimng to spend money in thier store as opposed to buying it on-line. This is especially true for those that live outside the US. These figures will be availble through intenational distribution so those in EU and Canada should not worrry. For those that live outside the US, Canada or EU it may be harder to obtain these as ditribution becomes more difficult.

Well that's my piece. Sorry for the long post. If you ever have any questions please feel free to

e-mail me. I may not be able to get back to you right away but you will get an answer.

Cheers,

MRB

Yay great thx for the info

Prices seems ok to me (though I sure understand that it's too expensive for some) I'm even surprised that Robb is "only" around 50$, I'm waiting to see the real size/quality of it but here figs tend to cost a lot more when size rises.

I'll keep an eye on testor site for pre-orders hehe , bran/hodor/summer, cat, theon and robb will probably go on a tour of Europe soon ;)

Ooooh, Im in trouble :D

I was the one that commented about pricing being too high.

I wasnt really refering to you guys over charging, just that

me not being able to afford all the models as they will be

way out of my budget limit :(

At least my comment got a price range listed :)

I am although eagerly awaiting the miniatures and ruleset :)

I live in Australia, so does that mean I am out of luck

with getting my hands on this product? :tantrum:

I understand. I would never expect anyone to purchase every singel figure we produced. Unless someone was a real hardcore fan and had buckets of cash that didn't know what to do with. Condsidering that I would like to see at least three seperate figures of each of main characters and at least one of all of the 'minor' characters. When we (Testors) actually figured that out it came out to over 200 figures.

Realistically, if we sold just one figure to every single GRRM fan out there we would be very happy. If someone becomes a serious collector thats great too.

As for distribution it really does go back to talking with the shops in your local area. We have the channels to distribute these figures just about anywhere in the wolrd, including Australia but a big part of reaching the more distant locations is the local connections. We will of course look at direct order options but we really prefer supporting the B&M shops that really keep the hobby industry going.

There are at least 5 people from this board that will be purchasing every single piece you create.

One question I had was if you (Testors) had a release date scheduled. If I recall correctly, someone had mentioned a release date of December. This has obviously been pushed back a bit. Is there a new release date scheduled?
