  1. 6 - had some really dumb arse storytelling but My hero killed and claimed a dragon - Go team White Walker! Some of the dialogue between the hound and Tormund was funny. I find it hard to rate below 5 because as dumb as the narrative has become it's still very professionally made and engaging - and it's not quite as dumb as things like the transformers films and the new Star Wars.
  2. I gave it 5, which is one of my lowest ratings. Capturing a zombie and showing it to Cersie feels like a stupid excuse to get all of the actors in the one place. I knew it was coming because I read the spoilers but I was hoping it wasn't true - it's so dumb and contrived, to deliberately draw things out. It ruins any sense of urgency about the Walkers, Dany's conquest and dragons - the plot in general. So Tryrion has given Dany 3 failed plans, she succeeds by going it alone and then listens to his plan 4. Fuck I hope this plan fails and Dany feeds Tyrion to a dragon. But seriously, why is Dany even listening to him? Why does she care about what Cersie thinks about the zombies? Why does it matter? So Rhaegar and Lyanna were married. Again, why does it matter? Who gives a fuck? Certainly not Sam. And thinking of Sam, how does he have any idea what books and scrolls he stole? He took them from a room he'd never been into, in the dark? What does the Night King want? What was the Long Night all about? What is the Red god? Sam probably can't work it out with the random shit he stole. I'm venting because the plot has gotten silly and I know where it's going - fanservice central, nothing intelligent, deep or thought provoking for the rest of this season, perhaps this story.
  3. Re the whole Arya/Brienne thing, I enjoyed the fight for how it played out, without thinking of the logic too much. But, what if Arya is the Waif and the Waif has had an immense amount of training in swordplay? The only thing that still really negates the Waif becoming Arya is Nymeria not eating her - but, if the Waif became no-one enough, perhaps she can impersonate Arya enough to fool a direwolf?
  4. The drawings may not have all been done by the Children, or at the same time. The Walkers were on an entirely different wall, in a different style. It's not like Jon is an archaeologist, is it?
  5. Simplest explanation is that Jon misread the painting because he has a bias against White Walkers. There are 4 elements in this equation - Patterns, Children, Men & Walkers The patterns are related to Children and Walkers but not men, suggesting the Walkers and Children are closer to each other than either group is to Men. The book and show are deliberately vague around the history of Westeros and the White Walkers, suggesting that something is being hidden, still. Even if we take it on face that the Children made the Walkers to defend against Men and that the Walkers got out of control and the Children had to team up with Men to defeat them - the patterns are an issue. The patterns mean that either the Children changed something about themselves which the Walkers still adhere to or that the Children have never really been on the side of Men. It is seeming more and more logical to me that the Walkers are the Pact and the Old Gods rolled into one. They were created as some kind of environmental protection agency that Men has to adhere to to coexist with the Children. As Men became more numerous in Westeros, they stopped adhering. I don't think that Men and the Children ever really worked together to defeat the Walkers, more I think that Men probably drove Children and thus the power of the Walkers underground (into the North).
  6. Ah, that makes a lot of sense - cheers. Couldn't understand Dinklage's voice at all though
  7. So I guess it wasn't 'who are you idiot?' he said first? need subs
  8. Yea, I read that one on Reddit - pretty funny though, he quickly doodled in the Walkers before showing Dany On a different note, I watched the episode again, with headphones and could still not really make out what Tyrion was saying? Was it Who are you idiot? Jamie charges You fucking idiot? Why doesn't Tyrion recognise Jamie?
  9. Of course, as Jamie goes good, Bran will go bad. Wait until bran remembers who pushed him out the window - I'm surprised he hasn't already. But, I'm liking show Bran, sure his acting isn't perfect but I like the idea of seeing and knowing so much that it breaks your mind and makes you sour. Definitely not - Ygritte is the love of Jon's life and she had some (often psychopathic :D) personality and character to offset his serious broodiness. Dany and Jon will be too much - the most uptight, broody and serious couple in the 7 kingdoms
  10. Did Planetos definitely have 2 moons and now has 1? Or did it have 1 and now has none, or have 1 and now has a broken one? I don't really buy it but there are some who think Planetos may be post apocalyptic Earth - kind of like Sword of Shannara. And, how does the God's Eye - which is an island in Westeros - relate to a solar (or at least orbital) event? Is that island the broken moon, or a part of it? Is dragonglass a part of the broken moon? I do remember theory's that when they first made dragons, in Asshai, it caused the moon to break. Perhaps it's the other way around, like a larger chunk of moon rock fell on Asshai and enabled the sorcerers there to make dragons for the first time? And, besides all of this, if the White Walkers are just a weapon that got out of control, why bother programming them with some ancient mystery?
  11. Seems obvious to me - they believe in the same thing that the Children did. The White Walkers mindset is the same as the Children's once was - and I'd hazard a guess it's some mystical environmental thing. All of those little symbols probably mean something about being one with nature and protecting it from humans, or something similar.
  12. 9 - but I'll watch it again tonight and see if it's worth a 10. I liked the battle but I didn't think it was perfect. Where were Dany's other 2 dragons? What were they doing when Drogon was down? WTF was Tyrion raving on about on the hill and how the hell did he get there? Really liked the Arya swordfight - although I think her character has long since jumped the shark, that was a great sparring match. Most of all I want to frame by frame the cave paintings
  13. To me this was the most important part of the episode. The battle was nice and spectacular but not related to the core mystery of the overall story. I wonder if Jon is misinterpreting and the cave paintings actually say 'using magic Children and humans combined can make White walkers' It's very strange that the White Walkers organise bodies in exactly the same patterns as the Children's symbols.
  14. Saw this really interesting theory on YouTube the other day - suggests they are writing history in the present, or rather bran placed the stories in the past either to direct the present unfolding a certain way, or because the present unfolded a certain way.
  15. I really enjoy how creepy Bran is - knowing everything that is and has been makes him this kind of depressed emo. Absolute knowledge has a cost.
  16. Love how this comment fit's perfectly with the face in your avatar
  17. Bran is supposed to be creepy - if the story ends up where I think it's going, Bran will end up one of the biggest monsters. Tyrion has always been overrated and Dinklage's acting definitely is - without GRRM's dialogue, the character is nothing. They are just setting it up for Dany to get stress and go full dragon on Westeros, unleashing the Dothraki and fire, so that she inherrits a throne of ash like in her show House of the Undying vision. What's really hilarious to me now about Dany's whole assault on Westeros is that all her Dothraki will probably end up getting killed and raised by the Night's King, so she will have to torch 100,000 frozen Dothraki screamers
  18. And? Banks don't give a fuck about the beliefs of the city they operate out of, they give a fuck about return on investment only. Why? They are dragging him out, for sure. He's going to have to snap and strangle Cersie eventually - but I find him one of the most likable people on the show at this point. Agree with others that predict the Grand Maester has given Sam forbidden/secret scrolls to translate. We might finally learn the true story of what the hell is going on with the seasons and White Walkers in this universe.
  19. I gave it an 8 but I'm not sure. Jamie is by far becoming my favourite character - probably because we don't see much of the Night's King and we should be, because it is supposed to be Winter. Where the hell is this long night? I love that Tyrion has now fucked up as Dany's hand 3 times, it's hilarious. Why she keeps him alive is beyond me at this stage - but obviously Dany's failures are setting her up for full dragon mode in the future. Cersies revenge was excellent - saw it coming but it was very well acted by all involved. Dany and Jon bored me a bit - felt too fan servicey for me. So I just am not sure what to think. It was smarter than last week, heaps more cohesive - but much less entertaining. I think I just want the thing to ramp up and finish now, rather than keep drawing out.
  20. But seriously, do you know how Maassai take out lions? One acts as bait and get's the other to chase it towards one standing their ground with a spear - the lion runs into the spear, providing most of the force, and impales itself. All Jamie or someone has to do is hide the giant crossbow thing behind a target the dragon is flying towards and then, when the dragons forward motion is too great to change, release a bolt.
  21. All you have to do is get the dragon to fly at the bolt.
  22. If Arya is not no-one, how can she wear Walder Frey's skin and height so well? Am I supposed to accept that Arya doing faceless man training, saving a mean actress who brutalised the girl that put a hit on her, killing another faceless man (waif), cooking some Freys and murdering a whole family is just like a glitch and she should be forgiven for all of it? Screw that, the little chick went of the deep end and I can't suddenly sympathise with her just because some fat kid calls her pretty and her wolf rejects her.
  23. But season 7 Arya's actions are dependant on season 6 Arya. Is she no-one or not? Why did Jaquen call her no-one? And why didn't Nymeria want to go with her? Did she sniff Arya was no-one? You might like that Arya is becoming Arya - but seeing as she was declared no-one last season, she shouldn't be.
  24. I gave it 9 because Euron's laugh when Theon jumped in the water was just classic. If he slit Yara's throat with his axe whilst laughing, I would have given it 10. I actually enjoyed every scene to some degree. I was really worried about Grey Wormless and frizzy hair but it wasn't as cheesy as I was expecting. The scene that sucked the most was Arya and Hotpie. WTF is going on with Arya? Her story makes no sense. Wished Nymeria ate her.
  25. Haha - looking at the poem just gave me a bizzare idea - what if it's a direct reference to Jon and he will die again at the end of this season and then be resurrected by ice - for if he had to perish twice There are rumours he is left alone with the Night's King in the last episode or so. Oh and Prestons series on Targyrean bloodlines is also very good - I think he cracked that. He may not have all the character motivations perfect but I think he has worked out who can birth dragon eggs and why.
