    Well that trailer rocked.

Not sure about Feyd's look. I get the imagery that Villeneuve is going for with the Harknonnens, but the Baron intended to cast Feyd as the savior of Arrakis following Rabban's brutal regime. Plus we have a fairly detailed physical description of him in the book. That being said, Austin Butler will likely be great in the role.

Sunblock. Lots of sunblock… and a big hat… under a massive umbrella.
He’d be positively incandescent under that sun. My god.

  2. So I went back and rewatched 3Below after watching the original Troll hunters series.

I totally missed that Eli Pepperjack became the ambassador to Acheridian 5 at the end of the series.

    That is all.

  3. So after watching 3Below, I went back and watched Troll Hunters, the series that came before.

Funny, clever, great voice cast, and pretty good visuals. It’s just a really fun show.

Best I can tell, Arcadia Oaks is a bit like Hawkins in Stranger Things but with multiple gangs of kids getting into whacky adventures that occasionally intersect.

Hmm you know if Megan had been the one to make the public statement Morgen would have attacked her directly.

The Guardian article should have read, “…says Harry in court”.

if Harry et al can support that accusation, that’s big trouble for guys like Piers and Rupert, as it means they perjured themselves in front of Levinson.

  5. Is Dune 2 rated R? Gurney Halleck sure is covered in a lot of blood.

    Some new images are out.

Is it just me, or does Florence Pugh wearing that skullcap look like the princess from Neverending Story?

This is almost exactly what I was expecting. In keeping with a lack of ornamentation and restrained aesthetic of the first film.

I still don’t get the spoiler tag usage. People know not to come on here if they haven’t seen the latest episode.

I stayed off this thread for 3 weeks because I’d fallen behind.

My main surprise from the episode is the lack of urgency in bringing Crystal's body back to the cabin for snacking purposes, since everyone's down with that now.

There’s a blizzard. They’ll remember they’re hungry in the morning.

I just binged the last 3 episodes. All caught up.

    Javi makes no damn sense.

It’s nice to see Misty making friends. She and Elijah Wood make a cute couple. He’s very understanding.

Lotti’s fan girl is totally ending up in the pit.

Shauna is totally kicking ass and taking names! Even money says Mustache gets “Shauna’d” in the season finale. And then they slow roast his ass and make of his giblets a delicious savory gravy.

Danzig was a bit on-the-nose. Not that I’m objecting. “mother mother” by Tracy Bonham would have been better.

  7. Super Mario Bros.

We initially planned on seeing D&D, but one of our group had already seen it and wanted to see this. I demanded we sit up front to get away from a theater full of insane children; rattling from high doses of caffeine and sugar, flicking their boogers and whatnot. This was the right call.

it was a Sunday matinee at 12:00 and the theater was fucking packed.

I thought the film was pretty meh, but then I’m not a hardcore Mario fan.

  8. I'm using it somewhat ironcally, hence the "quotes".

    gesticular

Adjective, Of or relating to gesticulation.

    gesticulation

    Noun,

The act of gesticulating, or making gestures to aid expression of thoughts, sentiments or passion.

A gesture; a motion of the body or limbs when speaking, or in representing action or passion, and enforcing arguments and sentiments.

I think that was Roddenberry’s idea when the first movie was released, just pretend Klingons always looked like that

    Can't do it.

It's interesting to think what the reaction to the Klingons would have been like in '79 if social media existed back then. For fans of TOS, it must have been a bit weird.

Some neurodivergent folks on Facebook forums I frequent have made this exact same point (and I think some include Data amongst their rolls as well)

He got to sit in the big chair and he had a brain fart, like we often do.  Watch, by the end of the season it'll be, "Engage."

The best was in Lower Decks When the Captain says, "Hit it.", and the ships computer responds, "Hitting it." I laughed.

That would mean it's the 2nd highest in terms of budget with Lord of the Rings show being 1st. Both shows from Amazon.

Bloody hell, Amazon spending some crazy money on flop shows. This new one will flop as well. I mean Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra are main leads. Two of the most wooden actors I've seen.

Hey, come on now. They could certainly do much worse for lead actors and these two could have some genuine on-screen chemistry.

Having the Russo brothers attached was probably a big selling point as well. They definitely have a good track record for commercial success.

Apparently they fired the show runner over "creative differences" and had massive re-shoots, hence the budget.

Only 6 episodes. Season 2 has already been greenlit.
