  1. Eh, they obviously do edit out the intelligent responses, but from my canvassing experiences the average person is closer to the people in these kinds of videos regardless of the type of questions being asked.
  2. Thank god I'm off the market. Lord knows what you might try to put me through. Funny note, J and I were talking a bit ago and just before we were both looking up nerf and squirt guns to have a battle between the two of us and her son. We do this all the time and it never stops shocking us. 11 days. Honest question, is there anyone here who would like to go on one of these shows? I'm not sure what the number on that check would have to be to make me do it. I mean I guess you could get me on one if @Rhom wore a Wisconsin jersey and Louisville hat while filming himself burning all his UK stuff, but I'm not that cruel. Yet. Also, he would need to spot me around $5,000 for a proper riverboat casino experience, but I guess we can haggle on the amount a little bit. But only a little bit. And as a friendly reminder, I know a number of power people who went to Wisconsin, the types that can get the boy in, so don't you dare get cheap on me Rhom. Calls can be made. Go Badgers?
  3. Guess he was just thirsty in more than one way.
  4. There is a large increase if your focus is percentage. If you have a penny and I give you a quarter, that's a large increase in what you have, but it's still just a quarter. If you have $1,000 and I give you a quarter it's minimal. The value of the quarter doesn't change. I'm not going to read a study that long for fun, but from what I've seen there is a heavy focus on the change in percentage, not the raw numbers and the part linked seems pretty dismissive of societal changes because it doesn't fit the narrative being presented by the author.
  5. I recall them having a hot run, but I'm not sure who they played. And IIRC the credit was mostly given to Brunson and OG. Randle has always felt unreliable. He's not bad, but he's got to be like a really high end fourth option on a good contract. Or in other words an affordable luxury. If he had a similar deal to Arron Gordon I'd like him more (both have four year deals, but Gordon is $30M less and frankly I'd rather have him). That said, the Brunson deal does give so much flexibility. If you want to be optimistic I'd look at Boston being a bit of a paper tiger right now and the Bucks are not as strong as they once were. It's not crazy to believe the Knicks could win the East, but I don't think they have a chance against Denver (who should win the West). It's just not a very good match up. Agreed, he's one of the few names that makes a lot of sense. Every team could use a good two way wing, but I think they should also try and get a versatile big. I'm just not sure who they should target though. All the bigs I'd want don't seem like they're candidates to be traded. Bam would be a great fit, but he's only going to be available if Miami tears it all down. AD could be on the market if LeBron retires. Outside of that I'm not seeing a lot.
  6. The latter won't happen and the former is still very iffy because neither side really wants a two state solution. Plus you left Gaza out of the equation. The Iran question is interesting. Idk what they'll do, but I think rationally they should know that if they attack Israel, even if it's something outside of the state, that all they'll achieve is a retaliation. I've always hated this dick measuring bullshit because a side feels like they can't look weak.
  7. It's not, it's most valuable. If it was just best player Jordan and LeBron would probably have 20 combined. You could argue that Luka might be the best player, but he shouldn't win the MVP this year because his team isn't going to have homecourt once. This is why I believe Gobert will beat out Wemby for DPOY. The latter's stats are better, but his team sucks, meanwhile Gobert is the best defender on the best defensive team. That matters. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they get better without Randle? I don't think the Knicks are a contender this year, but they could take out any team in a seven game series. I just can't see them doing it four times, but they're not too far off. They should be really aggressive this offseason. There's a few FAs that look like nice fits and they absolutely should try to make a monster trade for a star on a bad team that needs to blow it up.
  8. Which is dumb. Your team at least should be somewhat competitive to earn the award.
  9. Brunson seems like a floor raiser. That's not a bad thing, but it leads me to believe that he needs a better player to pair up with him if the goal is a chip. The good thing is I think a lot of dudes would really like to play with him. I'm not sure I agree. He'll probably win a DPOY in that period, but I can't see the team overhauling enough to justify him winning MVP. Wins are not a QB stat. They are for star NBA players and the Spurs roster sucks. I don't see any real improvement in the next few years unless they make a big trade so it wouldn't shock me if they're just a play in team for the next few years. You can't give the MVP to the best player on a team like that.
  10. It's probably because people feel more comfortable these days discussing it and DMC is absolutely correct to bring up the scale. Going from 250 to 5,000 is a big deal if your sample is 10,000 people. But if it's a fractional increase it's not.
  11. Chats would put Rick James to shame and let him know it. Then lick his face just because. Enjoy yourself.
  12. So lick each other's faces is the goal for date two then, right?
  13. Somewhere, in parts unknown in Europe, @Relic is dancing in a bar right now.
  14. Also, people have been selling weed, coke and god knows what else out of bodegas for decades. There was one on the UofMN campus that I swear everything on the shelves had dust on it and most of the stuff was probably several years expired. First time I went in with a friend it caught me a bit off guard. When I asked why anyone would go there he basically told me that they have great hot cheese curds and drugs. The cheese curds were pretty fucking good and that's coming from someone who doesn't really like them. Cause everyone wants to live close to a cool ass bird with a whip. It will probably be like this in both Canada and the US for the foreseeable future. It's cheaper, your information isn't in a database, you can buy larger amounts, etc. I hope people didn't have any illusion that dispensaries were going to magically fix things overnight. But with time they should make things better overall.
  15. I literally googled a map from back in the day. Lol, am I the one that claimed there are 3 or 4 dispensaries on every block? There are an estimated 120,000 blocks in NYC. Do the math.
  16. I just read a few more recent articles that put illegal dispensaries in the 400-1,500 range in NYC. The larger problem for NY is statewide they might have nearly 40,000 of them. Best I can tell the 8,000 number comes from a lawyer making the claim and people just running with it. She got that number from taking in what she saw in an area and just calculated how many blocks there are in the city and assumed they all had the same numbers.
  17. Well for starters I've been to NY and FYI, those theaters weren't just in Times Square. What I was talking about was the perception of NY during that time which was not very positive. Comparatively today is much better when you're complaining about dispensaries. Also, there are fewer than 200 dispensaries in the city, so no, the blocks are not loaded with them. By comparison there are nearly 4,000 liquor stores in the city plus god knows how many bars. And there are prostitutes in basically every neighborhood in every large city. That you didn't see it doesn't mean it wasn't happening.
  18. Lolz. I literally linked you an article about porn theaters being common in response to you saying they never existed, and they weren't just in Times Square. NYC in the 70's and into the 80's was a pretty slimy place. Don't get defensive about reality. At least I can laugh at growing up in a place called Murderapolis.
  19. Look, we can't all be naked cowboys playing a guitar, but still, dream that you can make it. @Week is obviously a shitty TMNT in Time Squares. At least @Fragile Bird put some effort into her Pikachu costume. But no one compares to @DanteGabriel. He's been doing the devil's work for years at the highest levels. He's 65% of the reason why Central Park smells like weed 23 hours a day. Being a kind devil, he gives one hour to enjoy the trees, but don't you fucking dare ask for a second longer. He will burn it all down if you do. Or so I'm told.
  20. Read This: What happened to the porn theaters in Times Square? (avclub.com)
  21. That argument only works if elected Palestinian leadership wasn't advocating for exactly the same thing. In that part of the world it is like a vacation just to call for the death of others as easily as you would order a coffee in the morning.
