  1. We all know that the Lannisters were responsible for the deaths of Elia and her children. And we know that Gregor killed Oberyn during their duel. But with Tywin, Amory Lorche, and Gregor dead who is left for them to seek vengeance against? Everyone responsible for what happened to Aegon, Rhaenys, Elia and Oberyn is dead. Why seek the downfall of House Lannister when most of the Lannister family members had nothing to do with what happened to the Martells. Oberyn sought revenge and an admission of guilt and it got him killed in the end. I think this whole quest for revenge is going to backfire and lead to the ruin of the Martells.

Maybe not the battle you envision

But one book is enough for a battle for Volantis. In any case, I agree with you; the slaves will revolt and win and we will learn about all that what happened by way of POV characters (most likely Daenerys, Victarion and Tyrion)

I mostly agree. Except if the superpower that is Volantis goes down and if a free Meereen emerges triumphant from its battles against the Yunkish slaver coalition, slavery will have been effectively abolished...especially if the religion of R'hllor (which is decidedly anti-slavery) continues to spread like wildfire. Slaves all across Essos will start demanding redress or make plans for bloody rebellion. The Dothraki leftovers and the Jhogos Nhai will eventually give up because slavery will no longer be profitable beyond chump change trading.

There's no way that Dany and friends are leaving Qarth undisturbed. Everyone on Team Dany knows what happened to Astapor and Yunkai and will have learned from that. And she cannot cross the Narrow Sea to Westeros without first dealing with the cities of Lys, Myr and Tyrosh. So before she fully commits to anything in Westeros, the situations with Qarth, Lys, Myr and Tyrosh have got to be resolved.

I think Daenerys has started a fire that’s going to burn and cause more destruction than she ever thought.

  3. As we all know volantis is the center of the slave trade in the free cities and essos as well. If Daenerys were to win the battle of fire and attack the city of volantis and free all of the slaves there she will do great damage to the slave trade all across the continent. It’s possible it could be a blow that the slave trade could never recover from. This battle will mostly likely be with the assistance of the Dothraki as well as the unsullied. Also volantis has a powerful navy and ships that are sufficient to carry her to westeros. Is this scenario likely or at least possible?

    He knows

Stannis wins. Bran tells his story, Stannis asks Renly to produce Edric as evidence, it becomes a clear cut situation.

Tywin probably does not attend, if he does he's leaving early

But that doesn’t guarantee Stannis wins the Great Council Renly was far more liked and would likely have all the storm lords and most of the reach lords to support him. As well as probably other lords throughout the seven kingdoms. Either way Tywin likely continues the war assuming the council doesn’t rule in favor of Joffrey.

Renly wins, I presume. This is a Great Council, and he is amiable and well liked, hasn't endorsed a hostile, foreign religion, is a relative of the deceased king, has the backing of the Reach and Stormlands. isn't a boy king, isn't a separatist. The two other contenders, Stannis and Joffrey, have serious issues which would impede their success. In my view.

Of course this assumes everyone agrees to a Great Council in the first place.

I doubt Daenerys would be involved given she is on the other side of the world at this point. Maybe someone could put her forward as a candidate anyway but I doubt she would get a lot of support given she isn't there and last a lot of people heard she was married to a Dothraki.

Ironic that in your scenario Renly wins but he was the one who shot down the suggestion in the first place. I guess he just wanted a quick and easy victory.

  6. In A Clash of Kings Catelyn suggests a Great Council to be called and for Bran to tell his story and for the realm to know the Lannisters as the true usurpers. In the original timeline Renly dismisses her suggestion, but what if he had listened to her? For one wasn’t Bran apparently amnesiac about the event? I don’t think he would have been able to piece together that it was Jaime who pushed him out of the window along with the incest. So I’m not sure this would have worked in Catelyns favor as well as she may have thought. But who becomes king/queen in this scenario? Does Tywin attend? Would the reach lords agree? Would Daenerys be a potential claimant?  What about Edric and Mya?
