I'm a university lecturer ('professor' to Americans), dividing my time between the North East English city by the sea where I work in term-time, and Valencia, Spain where my heart is (my beloved Mentat). I'm from London but left when I was 18 and have never lived there since. I'm a left-wing atheist pacifist idealist (humanist) who likes cats, books, writing, photography, and travelling (especially by train).
