A good mix of Saving Private Ryan and Braveheart is what I thought of the battle scenes. How is it possible for Ned or anyone to come out of that a sane person?

As stupid as Jon was for not listening to Sansa, it is miraculous that he survives making the PtwP theories Mel has about him even more substantial.

I liked the scene between Davos and Tormund, it portrays the different perspectives of the meaning of "demon". Davos intended it to be a symbol or metaphor whereas Tormund treated the word as fact. That subtle writing is pretty creative at the least.

Agreed about TPTWP, it seemed Jon definitely had a higher power watching over him.

  2. I actually really liked this episode, a lot of nice progression in the storylines to set them up for the finale. I think that they had to do it because next weeks episode will probably all take place at Winterfell, so they had to get the rest of the storylines closer to their end point for the season. I  give it an 8/10.

I loved every scene tonight! My favs were the return of the Hound, can't wait to see the Hell he reaves on the Brotherhood! Jaime and Bronn were fantastic, seemed like most of Jaime and Blackfishs' convo came right from the book. Lyanna Mormont was awesome, I wish Jon would be more vocal on the recruiting trail, he just kinda sits there and doesn't offer anything.

Too young to be Rodrik. Rodrik was around 60 in the series and 20 odd years ago (from the vision) he would have been 40 (that is much older than Ned when the series began). The guy overseeing Ned and Benjen did not seem to be more than a teenager to me. Brandon's supposed to be some sword fighting prodigy so isnt exactly impossible that he'd be training his brothers.

According to IMDB, he was young Rodrik

But Ned was with Stag Party Bob in the Vale not at Winterfell.

Wasn't that Ned, Benjen, Lyanna and Brandon?

Side-wiskers make it seem more like a young Rodrik Cassel

Yea, that was Rodrik, Lyanna, Benjen and Ned.

  6. I think that this was an awesome episode, I have no complaints what so ever. I am able to separate the books and the show, and still enjoy them both. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was really worried Tyrion was gonna merge storylines with Quentyn

This was one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. I didn't feel like there was a bad scene. I was literally on the edge of my seat for the entire episode. I really liked the scene between Sansa and Theon, Jaime and Tommen, and Tyrion's moment to shine was overshadowed by the worst kept secret in Hollywood. Not a dull scene for me!

  8. I didn't attack you, I am just asking you because it seemed to me that you have the problems with the concept of GNC. Furthermore, I think the fact that NO Northern lord has been cast is a HUGE thing re GNC,

Well, I don't pay attention to casting, and wouldn't know about that aspect, but I can see them shaping it to fit Sansa instead of Jon, I just got chills when the servant told her "The North Remembers, it got me thinking about GNC, and I can't see LF being so out of it by not knowing who Ramsey Snow/Bolton is. It leads me to think he has a LF plan in the works, so maybe we would get the shows version of the GNC. Again, I could be wrong.

  9. If LF really doesn't know who Ramsey is, then they are ruining his character, I am holding out that he may be organizing other Northern Lords behind the scenes, but I am very interested in the Winterfell storyline because I care more about Sansa then I ever did about Jeyne Poole.

  10. Do you know what GNC even is? Do you know how that theory actually came to existence? Do you know that no Northern lord has been cast? The idea that "LF is doing GNC dance" is nonsensical because there are no elements of GNC in the series.

Yes, I know exactly what it is, but clearly they are changing things, Like the fact everyone knows she is Sansa Stark, they can reshape the GNC around her instead of Jon Snow, it's just a theory,I may not be right, but you don't see me attacking you because your OPINION differs from mine .
