Just to be clear, I think asking him not to run as part of a get-out-opf-jail-free card would be wrong on many levels.

I believe there is a chance that Citizen T. would plead guilty if it kept him out of jail. He'd just turn around and say they had to let him go because he's innocent, in the same way his lawyers admitted in court they had no evidence of election fraud, but publicly claimed the opposite. Or like FoxNoose babbled about upholding the highest journalistic standards right after accepting a settlement. He wills things into existence, just repeat them often enough with a weird amount of details. It's worked for 60+ years. Which is why Joe Biden kept 1850 classified documents. In Chinatown.
