  1. Tbf, the defense "Hey, I'm just a known liar" has worked for him so far... also for Tucker et al.
  2. Speaking of... Another day, another frivolous lawsuit: He's suing E. Jean now. No, really. For defamation.
  3. Deadloch: The plot thickens, and finally, Dulcie had it out with wifey! is not off my suspect list just yet. Then again, is highly sus, too. Why Strange New Worlds: A far better offering than episode 1. Some wonky writing/ directing but overall fine. But please, please trust your audience to not be idiots! Intercutting what was said 10 minutes before with reading out that paragraph and then spelling it out for us was highly unnecessary. Sometimes, less is more.
  4. Ugh, Santos' judge released the names. (His fagther and aunt, duh.) Of COURSE he lied when he promised he'd rather go to jail! Why can we never have nice things?!
  5. Is the Honorable Mr Ifthatshisrealname in jail yet?
  6. I'm in the middle of the mini series The Confessions of Frannie Langton. It starts out strangely soapish but gets pretty dark.
  7. If it's any consolation, if he appeals, as is his habit, I assume it will be after 2024...
  8. WOW, the WaPo already has someone call for Biden pardoning TFG... in this term. I certainly believe he might do so in his second term - it's kind of a tradition, plus the pinnacle of one-sided bipartisanship - but this just takes the cake! My favorite points in favour of a pardon: 1. To everything, there's a season (aka heal the nation) 2. I would drive Trump crazy. Sure, sure. I refuse to directly link the op-ed from yesterday, so here's a bit about it (and background on the author): https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/6/15/2175627/-A-WaPo-columnist-s-absurd-argument-that-Biden-should-pardon-Trump (I disagree with the part where the aauthor suggests a pardon for a public confession and a promise not to run for office.)
  9. Silo: Good episode. I'm wary though. Assuming And HA! Nice acting by Mr Robbins.
  10. Indeed. And how is that condition of not dicussing the case even enforceable?
  11. The transcript of the God-King's arraignment has been released. It seems to have some funny parts, albeit not in a good way. When even the judge is taken aback about no conditions... Here's a recap: Full transcript: https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/23847967/usa-v-trump-and-nauta-transcript.pdf ETA: @Zorral, yes, the disparity is mentioned in the video, too!
  12. The chandelier is tasteless, but I thought the possible copying machine to the right was more interesting...
  13. Deadloch is quite funny. One of the leads is too OTT for me during the first 3 episodes, but it gets better. I hope the killer is
  14. Column: Five ways Judge Aileen Cannon could protect Trump from the classified documents prosecution ... It’s of paramount importance that this case be assigned to another judge — any other judge. https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2023-06-12/trump-judge-aileen-cannon-classified-documents-case-harry-litman I've since heard of another one: Rule 29...
  15. Prosecutors don't consider Trump, the coup-attempting friend of world dictators, a 'flight risk' Donald Trump may be the first former "president" to face federal felony charges, but if you want proof of just how tilted our systems of justice are toward the wealthy and powerful, you're not going to find a better example than this one. ... But he's not a flight risk, even the federal prosecutors say. No chance of him trundling off in his 757, with or without more boxes of classified documents. Now, maybe Donald Trump is a flight risk and maybe he isn't.... But it's still instructive to note what federal prosecutors do to anyone who is not a private jet-owning subject of magazine covers. In 2017 Reality Leigh Winner faced charges of "gathering, transmitting or losing defense information" under the Espionage Act, facing the same 10-year sentence Trump now faces, except Trump faces it several dozen times over, and Department of Justice prosecutors very much considered her too dangerous to be allowed out of a cell. A federal judge on Thursday denied bail to Reality Leigh Winner, the 25-year-old Georgia woman accused of leaking classified information to the media, after prosecutors argued she remains a flight risk, a threat to the public and could possibly leak more government documents. Meanwhile, the man who attempted a coup, has been lavishing the Russian kleptocracy with praise, has a history of trying to do favors for Vladimir Putin, owns his own intercontinental jet, is almost certainly still in possession of extraordinarily sensitive national security documents, and attempted a damn coup, just to emphasize that last part, isn't considered a flight risk. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/6/13/2175196/-Prosecutors-don-t-consider-Trump-the-coup-attempting-friend-of-world-dictators-a-flight-risk An Appalling Moment, Even by Fox News’ Standards In his first speech following his arrest on Tuesday, Donald Trump hit on a series of talking points. Hunter Biden and Burisma. Hillary Clinton’s emails. Bill Clinton’s sock drawer. But for people who watched the speech on Fox News—MSNBC and CNN refused to air it—one moment stood out. The network showed a split-screen shot of Trump alongside President Joe Biden, who happened to be shaking his fist during an emphatic speech at the White House. The chyron read: WANNABE DICTATOR SPEAKS AT THE WHITE HOUSE AFTER HAVING HIS POLITICAL RIVAL ARRESTED. ... So much for the notion that Fox News had turned against Trump. It’s back, and slimier than ever. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2023/06/trump-arrest-fox-news-chyron/
  16. Tbf, he loses some lawyers bc they are witnesses. Wtf, no restrictions of international travel... or of his hate tweets against the families of the prosecutors...
  17. TFG has been arraigned. No bail apparently. Isn't allowed direct contact with witnesses, including Nauta.
  18. Maybe the Miami police will be too busy trying to get their pictures taken with TFG.
  19. I love Poker Face but then I've always liked Lyonne. (Can't comment on Russian Doll though.) Her character in Orange Is The New Black didn't feel the same as the one in Poker Face.
  20. You really can't make this shit up. Remember when I said he might take a plea deal like, about one post ago? Well, he told politico he might, under one condition: If they "pay me some damages." LMAO. The Art Of The Deal I guess. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/06/10/trump-vows-to-stay-in-the-race-even-if-convicted-00101403 My favorite part, however: Then Trump headed to the airport, where he posed for pictures with police officers.
  21. Just to be clear, I think asking him not to run as part of a get-out-opf-jail-free card would be wrong on many levels.
  22. I believe there is a chance that Citizen T. would plead guilty if it kept him out of jail. He'd just turn around and say they had to let him go because he's innocent, in the same way his lawyers admitted in court they had no evidence of election fraud, but publicly claimed the opposite. Or like FoxNoose babbled about upholding the highest journalistic standards right after accepting a settlement. He wills things into existence, just repeat them often enough with a weird amount of details. It's worked for 60+ years. Which is why Joe Biden kept 1850 classified documents. In Chinatown. Where they love China and don't speak English.
