  1. Loading your site opened an ad for "ipopular" in a new window that started streaming video automatically. It took me a moment to figure out where the sound was coming from because I have a lot of windows open and it didn't open in a new tab like most pop-up ads do. This was using the Safari browser, and with the issues we've had and repeated warnings given about streaming video at work, this is probably going to get me written up or at least warned. Please screen your advertisers better.
  2. Jaime was awful in Oblivion. Tywin was awesome in The Golden Child. One of my favorite movies as a teenager.
  3. Big red-leafed trees that are to be respected and fed (human sacrifices), along with the idea of a silver girl who gets new, stronger teeth out of a tragedy, are all references to "Feed the Tree" by Belly.
  4. I believe she had triplets too, but I don't think that each one had a different father. Two were Howland's and one was Rhaegar's.
  5. Hah, I missed this the first time. Definitely not a coincidence. Brân the Blessed (Welsh: Bendigeidfran or Brân Fendigaidd, literally "Blessed Crow") is a giant and king of Britain in Welsh mythology. He appears in several of the Welsh Triads, but his most significant role is in the Second Branch of the Mabinogi, Branwen ferch Llŷr. He is a son of Llŷr and Penarddun, and the brother of Brânwen, Manawydan, Nisien and Efnysien. The name "Brân" in Welsh is usually translated as crow or raven.
  6. Y Mabinogi: Third Branch Pryderi returns from the disastrous Irish wars as one of the only Seven Survivors. Manawydan is another Survivor, and his good comrade and friend. They perform their duty of burying the dead king of Britain's head in London (Bran the Blessed) to protect Britain from invasion. But in their long time away, the kingship of Britain has been usurped by Manawydan's nephew Caswallon. I was struck by the head of a dead king being buried in a special place to protect the land from invasion, and his name being Bran. Bran Stark is a king, presumed dead, and buried - and many think the purpose of going underground is to protect Westeros from invasion.
