  1. Updated the title to Wake the Dragon I (Azor Ahai). Same topic.
  2. Dany is Azor Ahai. Bran is the Greenseer. I think the two are fated to oppose.
  3. "Once there were two moons in the sky, but one wandered too close to the sun and cracked from the heat. A thousand thousand dragons poured forth, and drank the fire of the sun. That is why dragons breathe flame. One day the other moon will kiss the sun too, and then it will crack and the dragons will return." Doreah was telling Daenerys where Dragons came from. Irri said, "You are foolish strawhead slave. Moon is no egg. Moon is god, woman wife of sun. It is known." Doreah is a beautiful blonde Lysene. Irri is a Dothraki girl, one of the handmaidens serving Daenerys. George Martin took great pains to set up the gender flexibility of Dragons. High Valyrian is also a gender neutral language. A gender reversal for the Sun from the story to the present day happened. Daenerys is the Sun. To quote Tyrion, she is "Aegon the Conqueror with teats." The Prince(ss) That Was Promised and Azor Ahai. The Moon is Khal Drogo. The second Moon can apply to Quentyn Martell. The suitor who got too close to the Sun and got burned for trying to steal the Dragons. He released Rhaegal and Viserion from a stone prison. This is the myth of the creation of Dragons. It makes for a lovely story. We know the dragons did not really come from the moon. The story is a historical account of what happened long ago. Khal Drogo and Daenerys in their previous lives hatched dragon eggs. They were reincarnated and are always fated to marry. One dies and Dragons are born.
  4. Wings shadowed her fever dreams. "You don't want to wake the dragon, do you?" Daenerys is in a long hallway. At the far end is the red door. This red door is her goal. The doorway to her future. It is figuratively the house in Braavos where she spent her childhood under the care of Ser Willem Darry and King Viserys the Third. The door is more than that though. That door is their kingdom idealized by Viserys. Westeros. The red door is the objective for the future but also memories of her past childhood. "You don't want to wake the dragon, do you?" The next scene is her life with the Dothraki. Drogo, Jorah, and Viserys feature in this part of the dragon dream. Jorah stands in front of her dragon eggs and tells her the last dragon was Rhaegar. The red door felt farther away as if the goal is increasingly out of reach. Barriers are in her way. Rhaegar and Viserys stand between her and the throne making the red door out of reach for the time being. ". . . don't want to wake the dragon, do you?" Viserys was abusing her verbally and physically. The molten gold kills Viserys. Now the path to the throne is clear. ". . .don't want to wake the dragon, do you?" She could feel the cold behind her. If it caught her she would die a death that was more than death, howling forever alone in the darkness. The red door is far ahead. She ran faster. ". . .don't want to wake the dragon, do you?" This part is about the son she lost, Prince Rhaego. She mourned the son and cried for the loss. ". . .want to wake the dragon . . ." Ghosts lined the hallway, dressed in the faded raiments of kings and holding swords of pale fire. Her ancestors holding swords similar to Dawn. They had hair the color of silver, gold, and platinum. Their eyes were opal, amethyst, tourmaline, and jade. Her ancestors, Azor Ahai, the Emperors during the time of the Great Empire. "Faster" they told her. Faster she ran towards the red door. And Daenerys Targaryen flew. This is a decision point. Daenerys Targaryen, Azor Ahai, made her choice to wake the dragons and become the successor to these kings. ". . .wake the dragon . . ." The cold starts to recede. She flew across the Dothraki Sea towards the red door and towards what lies beyond, Westeros. Towards her home. Towards her kingdom. Towards what she inherited from Viserys. ". . . the dragon . . ." She see her brother, Prince Rhaegar mounted on a black stallion. She hears Jorah, "the last, the last." Dany lifts the visor and the face inside was hers. Another important turning point in the story. Daenerys chose to become the dragon and to rule the Seven Kingdoms as Rhaegar and Viserys were destined to do. She has more power. Rhaegar was a dragon only because of lineage. Viserys was anything but a dragon if not for his family. Daenerys is the real deal the dragon. Instead of a black stallion her mount is the black dragon, Drogon. This is the second most important chapter in "A Game of Thrones." Only the last would have more impact. The dream guided Dany to her chosen path. The Path of the Dragon. I interpreted this to mean she had a choice but probably not much. The dream also clarified who Rhaegal, Viserion, and Drogon truly are. They are the three most important males to Dany. Rhaego, Viserys, and Drogo. The dragons are their spirits and they will watch over Dany. The chapter continues and Dany learns what happened to her husband and son. Jorah did not actually see Rhaego. We only have the words of Mirri and the Dothraki women. The Dothraki are superstitious and were easily led by the witch. We will never know if what she said about Rhaego is true. This great chapter ends with Dany becoming Azor Ahai after ending the life of her husband and repeated the cycle. Nissa Nissa is the man this time. George R. R. Martin crafted literary art in the dream section. I loved it.
  5. There is already a grave with Arya's name on it but how much of her mind is left when that happens. She will get sloppy eventually. She can't manage her urge to murder and that will heighten the chances of getting caught and killed by her prey.
  6. Because it's interesting. No reason at all to lock a thread just because you don't like it. The Tully sisters went mad and Catelyn passed her genes to her children. They have the same chances as their mother and their aunt of becoming insane. Arya is already sick.
  7. Who was or who were the masteminds behind Robert's Rebellion? It wasn't Robert! The Maesters. Petyr Baelish. Rickard Stark. Jon Arryn. Brandon Stark. It could be anyone of those guys though Brandon was not smart enough to plot something like the rebellion. There is another who could have done it in his own devilish way, Mance Rayder. A black brother was present during the tourney at Harrenhal. I can't claim it was him without further evidence but it is a good possibility. Brandon and Lyanna were outdoors people who frequently strayed from Winterfell like they were homeless dogs. Mance is also known to stray far from the Watch as if a wolf in search of a mate. It is possible the three have met before the tournament. What song could bring a hardened tomboy to tears? A song that reminded her of a secret lover who also sang the same song. Rhaegar's song reminded Lyanna of her secret lover, Mance. How would a southern boy like Rhaegar know of the significance of blue roses? Even the Stark kids were ignorant of the meaning and the historical ties to the Wildlings. Mance would have known the story of Bael and the blue rose of Winterfell. Blue roses are not common. Where would Rhaegar find the flowers? Not in a random patch of ground. Mance would know and brought the flowers to the tourney. He intended to use it on Lyanna but found a gullible Rhaegar would work better for his plans to cause disruption among the ruling class. Mance was born a wildling and remains a wildling at heart. The wall failed to tame the wild out of him. He would have been in his late teens to maybe his twenties at the time. Old enough to know the only chance the Freefolk has of living on better land is destroying the social order which governed Westeros. He would need to start with the Targaryens who are the most noble of all the nobles whose almost divine authority held Westeros together. A wicked smart man he was able to manipulate Rhaegar and Lyanna to further fuel the hate between the families. His height check him out to be the Knight of the Laughing Tree but he was the mind behind the deception. He gave the blue roses to Rhaegar and told him what to do. This is the way to pull Lyanna away from Robert he says and breaks the conspiracy to oust the rulers. He says this is the way to save the Dragon Dynasty and preserve the kingdom. Lyanna could have been in on it after thinking it through. She was desperate to not marry Robert. Mance won the prince with his songs and stories. The superstitious prince believed him because he was a Brother of the Watch like his favorite kin Maester Aemon. Mance lied and said he was sent by Aemon to deliver a message. Mance knew about the correspondence between the two and intercepted the letters. He knew which buttons to push in Rhaegar, Brandon, Lyanna, and Robert. Mance was invested enough to risk his life to spy on Robert and the Starks inside Winterfell. He is fascinated with the Starks and drawn to the crypts where Brandon and Lyanna are buried. Lyanna had help in leaving Winterfell. Who best to help than her old lover Mance. Mance sends pregnant Lyanna to his victim, Prince Rhaegar. A traveling singer spreads the news to all he met that the daughter of Rickard Stark was kidnapped by the prince. He was the one who tipped Ned Stark to the whereabouts of Rhaegar, Lyanna, and Arthur Dayne. The horn he had was a trojan he used to fool Jon. Mance used it to get his people through the wall and into the kingdom. He was the mystery man who met Theon inside Winterfell. He was the one who murdered to sow discord inside between the Boltons, Manderlys, and Freys. The Battle of Winterfell will weaken Roose and Stannis while Mance still has men he can call on. His free folk will beat the winner of the battle and he will be the new king of the north. He has enough people to secure the Neck and prevent an assault coming from the lower kingdom.
  8. Westeros will be part of a future Daenerys empire but the ending of the story take place while she is in the act of consolidating territories. She has to pass beneath the shadow before she can have the light again. Westeros will be nearly sterile because of the white walkers and the environmental disaster of a long darkness. A Dream of Spring will be the last title and it concludes the story because she will be preparing her people to migrate to Westeros. Moses wandered for years and so it will be the same with Dany and her people before they can move to and rebuild Westeros. A Game of Thrones began with Bran and ended with Daenerys. I think that is the structure of the story when you see it from a big perspective. Winter, the season of death, began with Bran. Bran's rise is the beginning of the death of Westeros. Daenerys is the Mother being who will stop Winter and end Bran's season of death in order to bring life back to the land.
  9. The Freys should keep their property. Lame Lothar and his brothers will pay for the family crime (Red Wedding) as Catelyn, Jon, and Robb paid for the crimes of the Starks.
  10. He was erratic. His behavior can go from somewhat calm to violent in a flash. He has very thin skin and he reacts violently. Very much like his uncle brandon or father as some fans believe.
  11. Arya is dark in a way not necessarily evil. But dark because her sanity is slowly going away and leaving her. The intrusive impulse to kill is slowly pushing Arya along.
  12. It isn't really surprising. We saw Catelyn lose her mind early on. Take this chapter from the first book. It happened after the assassin tried to kill her crippled boy. The wolf saved Catelyn. The wolf licks the blood from Catelyn. The men found her laughing. Two sisters going crazy. It puts their children in danger of losing it as well. Arya will experience mind-breaking stress after she hears what happened to Jon at the wall. She will go on a murderous rage. It's the final straw as Arya tries to hang on to her sanity as well as her humanity.
  13. The stress triggered the madness in Cat. Ned's public execution triggered the same illness in Arya. Something very stressful will happen to Sansa and she might break too. Their blood make them vulnerable to madness.
  14. I like Dany. Westeros will be lucky to have her on the throne. She has a lot of great leadership moments. Dany skillfully corrected Belwas during their first meeting.
  15. He already appears to lose his sanity to the men who were there at the meeting. A black brother revealing what he did would look like a lunatic to the audience.
  16. Arya is half Tully. The Tully sisters went mad. Lysa was always so. Cat lost her sanity at the red wedding. Arya's bloodline make her vulnerable as well.
  17. The Tully sisters went mad. Catelyn Tully-Stark and Lysa Tully-Arryn were showing signs of madness and emotional fragility. Lysa had it from her youth to her death. Catelyn lost it at the wedding. She cut Aegon Frey's throat and killed him. Catelyn went mad that minute. There is insanity in the Tully blood. Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Rickon are half Tully. Cat's brood inherited the gene predisposing them to insanity. I know stress can trigger the disease.
