  1. I loved it, I honestly cannot find a fault. This series has been so much better than the previous two. Chaos is a ladder. What a throwback line.
  2. 9/10 for me. Visually this episode was stupendous both the scenes at Meereen and Winterfell. I thought the battle was brutal, I thought how they filmed it was excellent it really showed you the craziness of the heat of battle and just how much luck you need to survive. I got so annoyed at Sansa for not telling Jon, it was a huge gamble on her part (which luckily paid off that they got there in time) but I think it fitted in to how little she trusts people now so I'm not going to dock marks for that. Only bit I didn't like was that they didn't show Yara and Theon getting to Meereen. I think there was just some clumsy editing there. Otherwise it was very good, although I am so upset about Rickon, why didn't he run in zig zags?!
  3. Gave it a 6 but that is more borne out of frustration as to how bloody inconsistent this series is some moment of brilliance followed by a scene the equivalent of a bit of a turd. +ives - the hound, i liked the link up with BwB, all of the Riverrun stuff (bar the end of the Blackfish! wtf!), and I liked about 80% of the Arya stuff. KL was good but shit is going to go down soon. -ives - Mereen just so awkward and Dany's entrance was just a bit cringe. the remaining 20% of the Arya storyline. I am so so so annoyed as to how they've messed that up. That could have been such a bad ass ending with "I'm going home" IF ya know she hadn't have been stabbed multiple times the previous episode, it just made too much of this episode beyond the realms of believable (and yes I know it's fantasy but seriously wtf?). She should have just been partially stabbed as she spun away to escape last week and all the rest would have made so much more sense. So annoyed, it could have been done brilliantly and it just wasn't (imho).
  4. Gave it a 7. Some individual scenes I really liked but there's something just not working with this season so far, it's not quite gelling and I'm not getting lost in the episodes like I used to. Love that Sandor is back. Pissed at how they've handled the Arya/Waif thing - it'll just be ludicrous if Arya miraculously recovers to have that roof top chasing scene in the season trailer. So individual moments of wonderfullness (Queen of Thorns I'm looking at you) but all in all a bit...lacking. I do however think that the Queen of Thornes being so utterly brutally honest with Cersei is what's going to tip Cersei over the edge into doing something incredibly rash and foolish, there was a gleam in Cersei's eye at the end....she is starting to lose it.
  5. I would assume that is the obsidian working? If the obsidian made the white walkers in the first place and seemingly has the power to stop a dead person becoming a full on wight, then I guess it would have some side effects? Plus Benjen wasn't killed by an ordinary weapon - but the ice sword of the Nights King I think he said?
  6. @ummester I thought Benjen said the CotF stopped him turning into a wight by piercing him with a shard of dragon glass? That would explain it I think.
  7. 8/10 for me. I really liked it, setting things up nicely for the second half of the season, lots of political manouvering and I liked how they've easily brought the Riverlands back into it with just a couple of small scenes, it's really well done this time. Sometimes it's a bit hurried/obvious that there's a filler scene but I thought all of this episode was solid, with a couple of stand outs. Really enjoying Arya's storyline and I am so going to have to go back and re-watch Bran's visions, so many quick glimpses of some really important stuff right there. And Benjen is back Kind of weird Bran had no reaction to Summer and Hodor but I guess that is down to shock, but that's the only part I didn't like.
  8. i gave it a 9, I've just finished watching it. a -1 because of how Summer ended. I don't know if I'm more upset over Summer or Hodor. But wow. First episode since Hardhome that I've been so stunned and involved in an episode.
  9. I felt a bit mixed about this episode. I really enjoyed most of Castle Black (the dinner scene is the funniest they have had in what feels like ages, the humour aspect has been missing recently from the show) and although I found Brienne interrupting Davos and Melisandra a bit awkward I can see why they did it. Littlefinger scene I liked, it's been a long time since we've had someone play a scene out like that, although I despite his magical transportation carriage. Kings landing stuff was good, building things nicely. and I like the Dothraki scenes although I'm not quite as vested in that storyline. But some things still seem rushed or out of place. I still feel like the writers have lost a bit of control over the plot and are desperately trying to get it back on track. Something is still missing. Oh and I almost forgot! Thought they did the Osha and Ramsay scene really well, they gave you enough hope that she might do something with the knife, and I myself had totally forgotten Theon had told Ramsay how Osha helped Bran and Rickon escape. Just really well played out. Also liked the Pyke scene between Asha/Yara and Theon. They both acted it very well.
  10. My favourite of the season so far. + Dany finally realising she's in actual danger, Varys back to his best, the High Sparrow, The Queen of Thornes with her killer line best, Arya's storyline I really, really liked, I feel like a lot of imprortant information was in there so need to re-watch it, the Tower of Joy scene, the reintroduction of the Umbers, pretty much everything at the wall. - Tyrion - that scene was just a waste and I don't know why it was needed. Shaggydog - I am of the opinion that head was too small to be a dire wolf, but if it is Shaggy and the Umbers really have given Rickon to Ramsay....I hate even contemplating what could happen. Hate it. That second negative is more because of how I don't think I can handle that development, not because the show did it badly. So yeah great episode, so much information and insight in to what might come next. Really enjoyed it.
  11. I would give it an 8 out of 10. So much detail packed in to it, I liked all the Kings Landing parts, especially the conversation between Jamie and the HS - excellent dialog and acting. I pure loved the flashback through Bran. That's the most excited I've been over this show for a long time. Loved the tension in the bringing back of Jon, although I confess I was far more worried about Ghost, I really thought for one horrid moment that he was going to die so Jon could live. The part where Ramsay asked to hold his baby brother creeped the hell out of me, although even I didn't think he'd feed the baby and Fat Walda to his dogs. My one big complaint is the death of Roose. Not the fact that Ramsay killed him (I could fully see that happening) but just how it all happened. Roose would never let himself be that vulnerable, not when he knows what Ramsay is. It was just too far out of character, it felt disjointed. But for Ramsay to react immediately like that I can see it, and I thought Iwan Rheon acted it really well. From his reaction initially I thought maybe it was Roose that had stabbed him. Really enjoyable over all, going to tune in again for its 9pm showing.
  12. sorry i posted this in general ASoIaF and I guess I should have put it here: Hi guys, random question but if it has been discussed in a thread elsewhere any handy links would be much appreciated. I know there's been a brief mention of the Stark warg abilities in this thread already but I've just been re-reading ADwD and there is a passage in a Jon chapter about when he's dreaming as Ghost. In it, it seemed as though he could see where Shaggydog and Nymeria were. Not just sense them but actually see their surroundings (unless I've remembered it wrong!). Obviously with Summer he could not sense him at all. I am just wondering, it this the only instance where in a warg dream the dreamer has bee able to see not only though the eyes of their own direwolf but of the other direwolves too? is this a Jon ability or is it what makes Ghost different to the others? I am trawling through the previous 20 pages but any quick links to an answer would be lovely
