  1. Oh, I forgot about the cap! I used to know that, thanks.
  2. Do you guys think Ebay is the way to go for a lettered set? I'm a little leery of selling something worth so much, won't the fees be exorbidant?
  3. Yeah, I have an option to buy or not. If I don't buy my currently unbroken lettered set becomes worth a fraction of what it is currently worth. But, yes, I could choose to let that happen.
  4. It's not incorrect, there are no exclusive plates in the lettered editions. That's a screwup whether or not they are omitted from the lettered editions or incorrectly included in the limited. Either way it's wrong. And the Subpress editions don't match in any way. The slipcase for SoS, for example, is completely blank. That's not really an excusable thing to include in editions of this price. There is no consistency in the slipcases, no consistency in the dust jackets, nothing. I'm not saying they aren't good editions - hell I have a complete lettered set! I'm saying that the idea that Sub Press had to redo the MM editions to maintain some sort of consistency is ludicrous and doesn't pass a laugh test. They're not doing it for any such reason. They're doing it because they can make money doing it. Yes, there are some justifications which can be made. But bottom line they are jacking some of us for $800 in order to help other people get a complete set. And that's not acceptable.
  5. There are also glaring errors in the Sub Press edtions, fwiw. For example can you find the exclusive full color plates in the Lettered edition of Dance? NO YOU CANT. Because they !*%@* omitted them by accident.
  6. Uh. You realize that the Subterranean Press editions are themselves completely inconsistent looking, right? So that re-publishing the MM editions does absolutely nothing to address that concern?
  7. Oh, yes, it was Clash I ordered already not Games. And, althanis, I'm not blaming them for taking a long time, I'm blaming them for grubbing money by publishing a second set of limited editions in a series that already had those limited editions published. Why anyone with a complete set who already owns the MM editions is basically compelled to re-buy the books should be obvious to anyone who thinks about it for a minute. It was a jerk move and I made my opinion abundantly clear directly to Bill at SubPress.
  8. Maybe they realized the absurdity and all around crappiness of redoing GoT after a lot of us already spent hundreds of dollars on the MM edition? The one in the series of edtions SubPress continued? That would be nice. But probably not since I think they took my money already. It's sad that I can't even remember if I already shelled out that much cash.
  9. I have a lettered set. PM me if you're interested ladydewinter. With a serious offer. Note: What that means is if there are only 4 digits in your offer don't message me.
  10. My icon appears to have turned into Hello Kitty. This is unexpected.
  11. I think those of us with complete sets should make a pact to sabotage as many other sets as possible! This is a cunning plan which cannot fail.
  12. Good luck. Mo money for you = mo money for me eventually!
  13. I dunno, it's not just a matter of subtracting the value of the MM AGoT. The whole of a matching set is worth more than the sum of its parts. An incomplete set is incomplete whether or not its missing 1 matching book or 3.
  14. I'm pretty sure it was 16kish... but that was pre Dance with Dragons. So that's 5 books instead of 4. Which would bring the price, on a fractional basis, from 16k to 20k. That's not really how it works obviously but it does show that it's not a completely unreasonable increase.
  15. If you're really serious about the lettered set you (or anyone) can PM me an offer. But it ain't gonna be cheap.
  16. You're probably right, the number of complete sets on the forum is pretty manageable.
  17. That's a LOT of numbered sets. I'm not sure what we gain by potential listing hundreds of sets. Lettered sets might be more reasonable and useful. We know of, what, 6-7 of those? I mean there are obviously more but I'm just talking about the ones we are aware of.
