  1. I have been thinking about something for a while. Guess, HoTD is a very rare example where the TV show can be considered the canonical version of the events, while the book that it is based on is actually the rendering with "changes in the story".
  2. Lol, here you go! Hope it is close to what you visualised.
  3. I really like the explanation he gives for what Rhaenyra is doing. Makes so much sense.
  4. Melf's Minute Meteors are better ^^ Is that what happened? Oof, have to watch that scene again, the way I remember it, it cut between Daemon being reflected in the eye of Caraxes, to Caraxes being reflected in the eye of Daemon. Ooh, yes, they should have given some screen time for the three sisters, and Maris goading Aemond. Had forgotten about that scene from the books. If they had shown those scenes, then what Aemond is doing makes total sense. Also, went to sleep for 3 hours, and already 15 pages smh.
  5. ^yeah I really liked the Strom's End scenes, and the illuminated table, even though they went overboard with the minifigs again lol.
  6. What I did not like about the dragon fight was how easily Vhagar catches up to Arrax. Arrax should have been faster and nimble, but it looks like Vhagar just outmanoeuvres Arrax despite being larger. Visually, it was pretty cool though. And yeah, same question, what was Aemond even trying to accomplish there. They also showed some kind of psychic connection between Rhaenyra and Syrax, which showed a bit of skinchanger like abilities, something that was downplayed in GoT (was so disappointed that we did not get a full-fledged Varamyr Sixskins). This was one aspect of Westeros that always intrigued me. Oh, and they gave Daemon some pretty kickass lines, that Matt delivered gloriously.
  7. Im actually liking the changes in the show. Rhaenyra not being hesitant about sending her kids out, shows more confidence in them. Aemond killing Luce because he lost control of Vhagar.
  8. Rhaenyra was 14 when she became the heir? Oof... Rhaenys gets armoured up before the audience lol. She could have given a more convincing argument for not killing the Greens. Finally, in the last episode, they are clearly referring to the factions. I just wish the show would have clearly depicted how it all started in the tournament. Jace is every bit the badass I thought he would be. Wonder why they are not showing the malformed Targaryen babies. So it begins. Solid first season.
  9. Hmmm 17 pages. Lots to catch up on. Disgusting stuff in this episode lol
  10. Exactly. I mean this episode is either boring or not much to discuss about. Paddy was awesome tho.
  11. Think people are finding it boring. Last episode's thread was into 8 pages within four hours after airing lol.
  12. I was thinking and thinking what Helaena's rambling reminded me of, and it finally clicked! The intro sequence to Wheel of Time.
  13. I noticed the same thing lol! I posted about it also earlier in the thread! Daemon seems to have a thing for shipwrecks.
  14. Keep your enemies closer... Daemon would snigger at this.
  15. I think right now the person who understands Daemon the most is Viserys. And when Daemon says "I want nothing", he really means it. He is just frustrated and really alone. I am thinking he enjoys the pain and shame of those he beds more than any pleasure he gets himself, and he is not at all interested if they do not feel these things. He might be a nihilistic asexual, but there is some cruelty in there, maybe so others get a taste of what he himself is going through. I think why exactly Demon laughed at the funeral has an amazing answer.
  16. Oh and those two should get a room ^^ It's funny how much of Daemon's 'action' takes place in a shipwreck They are 'subverting audience expectations' with every sex scene lol. I thought the Cole and Rhaenyra one was alright, but Cole became soooo bitter for life.
  17. I clocked that too... But did not register him as a creepy guy. So that's what his motivations are? Ugh this is pretty sordid lol. I thought the flower was from Braavos so its just her being out of place, and far from home. The explanation given was that she is in his control, but clearly that is not the case. So her response on the ship was a way to keep him interested and in her control despite what he did? Ooof what does 'discreet' mean now? Eeek
  18. Oh I absolutely agree there, and I am really liking Rhaenys and Velaryons... such an arrangement would indeed make sense. Also, that he would stand up for his grand children in front of Rhaenys. However, what Rhaenys suggests is also a move he can make. In any way, what I found unbelievable was the principle behind it. Just saying that oh the blood does not matter it is only the name... I do not think that someone in a medieval setting would have found that to be a prudent method of going about establishing their legacy, no matter how open minded they are.
  19. Why cannot I like your post? It works the other way around too... when Jeyne Royce supports Rhaenyra saying something like the women should stick together, I think its a really smart political move. The realm does not turn against her, but I get your point.
  20. Corlys is too good... there is no way that the whole "History remembers names, not blood" thing makes any sense whatsoever. Yeah it is an iffy subject to go into, I don't wanna get into it, but just wanna say it was not convincing at all.
  21. It is really sweet that when Rhaenyra is hurt, Corlys supports her. This grandpappy is such a softie.
  22. I like how they are showing Viserys ageing with every episode. Rhaenyra could have just hashed it out face to face with Laenor, when he said he is going to be a husband... she should have just said, look I need you to pretend you are dead and get lost. I was soo expecting Demon to be in the boot, killing off Qarl... instead it was Laenor escaping with Qarl. He is not even in disguise. This whole plan is bad. Poor Rhaenys and Corlys.
  23. I want to see where they go with this. I thought it was an interesting choice. Would be funny if Laenor comes back and Seasmoke is returns to him, after shaking off and burning Addam or whichever dragonseed claims him. At least they got it out. But... Halaena's mumbling had the Greens and Blacks too... Yeah thought the same thing... why inflict that pain on his parents, and what about his dragon? Lol, for me it was like Draco Malfoy managed to fly the hippogriff Same! The comments about ROP are hilarious!
