  1. Jon is beyond feeling regret by now. He won’t be human when the Others bring him back. It is all going to be very basic emotions. Bad feelings like revenge and seeking Arya will occupy his mind.
  2. I would settle for incarcerating Arya even though her crimes are heinous. Keeping her locked in prison will at least prevent more people from becoming her victims.
  3. And who provoked Ramsay? Lord Commander Jon Snow.
  4. The Watch has cleaned house and Jon is gone. Bowen should send a letter to Roose with an explanation. It was Jon, not the other officers of the Watch, who sent Mance.
  5. Even the lowest of the forty ruling families of Valyria is far greater than the Starks.
  6. Defend humanity! That’s not what Snowhead was doing. Jon was readying his unlawfully-formed army for a raid on the Boltons. Mind you, it was Jon who started the feud.
  7. Jon’s support group is busy attacking Bowen Marsh again. It’s unfortunate because Bowen only killed Jon to stop the war on the Boltons. It wasn’t personal.
  8. Jon is a bastard according to the rules and customs of Westeros as given in the novels. The status of bastardry didn’t prevent him from becoming commander of the watch. Brynden Rivers is another bastard who attained a high ranking at the same organization. Their story arcs may run parallel. BR is now living as a parasite on a tree. Jon will live as a parasite in a direwolf. Jon, inside Ghost, will serve as a guard to protect Bran.
  9. Robb sucked at being a ruler. His timing was bad because he didn’t understand the bigger picture. He married Jeyne without fully understanding the consequences.
  10. Sweetrobin’s immaturity could be caused by an inherited disability. His mom was crazy. Aunt Cat went crazy.
  11. Ned, Robb, and Jon executed men who probably did not deserve it. In turn, the three were killed. Arya’s story should follow the pattern and end the same way.
  12. Jon is a sore loser. He could not leave the Starks behind and carried their war on his shoulders.
  13. Humiliating the Freys and betraying them is the bad decision that ended the Starks’ chances for a successful rebellion. Beheading Lord Karstark didn’t help his cause though. This is one of those times where he should have dealt with the matter with finesse and some good acting. Call in Karstark and say, “You ignored my order. But I will give you mercy because of your loyal service. I feel your grief. I know how you feel. I will forgive you this one time.” Robb Stark did more damage to his own honor when he broke his oath than anything Karstark did.
  14. Those Dragonlords built an empire and controlled dragons. They could never have done that if they suffered a high percentage of mental illness. The incidence of mental illness is exaggerated. And only the males seem to succumb to the illness.
  15. Check out what twitchedawake said on the second page of that discussion. The knife attack was not planned. It wasn’t a conspiracy.
  16. Jon was going to lead an army of Wildlings to attack the people of Westeros. It goes against the laws of the watch and the kingdom. Bowen had to stop Jon. He might have tried to place Jon under arrest but the Wildlings would block him. He didn’t have options.
  17. King’s Landing, The Twins, Lannisport, The Dreadfort, Castle Black are all potential targets of Arya’s madness with vengeance. KL by wildfire. If the others, by poison or disease.
  18. Arya’s mind is slowly slipping the more she obsesses over her list of future murder victims. The old man and Dareon weren’t on the list but they died as innocent casualties. There will be more of those in Arya’s future.
  19. The Targaryens who went sideways were Half-Targaryen. Only Aerys and Maegor came from two Targaryen parents. So the incidence is even higher among the Half-Targaryens. We should look into the reason. Perhaps a small genetic incompatibility exists between the god-like Targaryens and regular humans. They are the direct descendants of the founders of the Great Empire of the Dawn. Maybe they were biological and physical perfection. To quote Martin, “ gods do not mate with beasts.” It could mean the Targaryens damaged their genes when they married outside of the Valyrian pool. The idea of early man having superior biology comes from the bible. The patriarchs lived very long lives.
  20. Most of the hate threads are coming from the Stark fandom. This excellent thread from Damsel makes a very valid point. The Stark fans can scream “troll” and “hate thread” all they want and it won’t discredit the very valid point made by Damsel in distress.
  21. Yes, Arya can be classified as such. The author even referred to her as a psycho. An interesting psycho for sure and a rather unique villain.
  22. I like it. That could explain Arya’s condition.
  23. I agree with the verdict. If someone is going insane in the future, it will be the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna. The son of Rhaegar and Elia is also in danger of losing his mind.
  24. What you imagine can happen but it is not likely to happen. Daenerys is very intelligent. The damage caused and inflicted by Robert, Jon, Robb, and Tywin have already happened. Westeros is still suffering from the actions of those gentlemen.
