I think part of the issue is that he was highly internalised in the book and it’s difficult to translate that to a visual media which means a lot of his character development that happens internally is missed out. They should’ve taken the dune route and done visions/flashbacks or dialogue debates between him and other characters. That moment in the book when he realises how unhygienic and shitty his life in England was completely brushed over. Was quite disappointed with the pigeon cooking scene. And yeah I never got the feeling Mariko and he are in love other than a random fling based on physical attraction. She seems irritated with him most of the time.

I’ve noticed on this forum there is a general preference for Grimdark and Very Serious Works of Art over anything that can be construed as being light hearted or child like , and that’s a shame. Star Wars, like Superman was ultimately made to appeal to everyone but children specifically, and shows like Andor or movies like Rogue One which try to turn it into a gritty, war drama or game of thrones esque politics or morality just missed the tone of the true spirit of SW horribly IMO. Part of the reason is you guys grew up on the OG as kids whose light hearted tone was easier to swallow as children but as cynical adults your preference has naturally drifted to darker stuff. Nothing wrong with that but please stop trying to change the core of SW for the kids of this generation so they can enjoy the same thing you guys did in the 70s and I did in the early 2000s. Andor is depressing, boring and joyless. The protagonist is a forgettable,miserable nothingburger. For all the issues with the ST, I definitely prefer the force awakens over Andor any day.Ya it’s derivative but atleast it captured the spirit and tone of SW right. Unlike the showrunner of Andor who just wanted to make a dystopian thriller and projected his baggage on the SW IP. It would be just as wrong if someone was to take the Dune or Shogun IP and insert random fart jokes or Joss Whedonesque quips in it to make it ‘lighter’. That would be equally wrong. Just make ur own IP at that point. Ive already acknowledged my issues with CP2077 is not that it isn’t true to its genre and themes. It does , Infact a bit too well, but rather that the ending wasnt personally satisfying for me. But that one is all on me I admit. It’s a great game.

They also want to continue using the BG3 characters in other media, so we might have a slim chance of a tv/movie series in the future as well! Meanwhile Larian is moving ahead with two new games of their in active development. I’m guessing one of em is probably gonna be DOS3.

I haven’t read the entire book (started part of it many years ago and never finished it), but truly loving the show! I think Anjin is probably the weakest character in the show for me personally, the Japanese ones shine a lot more !

It sucked all the fun out of Star Wars and made it into something else entirely, that other product may be fine but then they should’ve just made their own space dystopian thriller-drama instead of hijacking a classic space opera franchise.

Shogun is an example of a quality show with a bleak,serious tone. Andor is an example of a borefest with all the Star Wars joy sucked out of it. Can’t believe you guys rate it high.

Beyond this one, we’re gonna have bug fixes,performance improvements,cross play ,picture mode and continued mod support. But this is the final major content patch. They’re adding in new endings and Wyll content along with the start of mod support. It’s still a few weeks away as they’re hosting a closed beta first for it. Its a good time to start an evil playthrough, which is gonna be my 3rd and final play through of this game…until there are enough new quest mods added in the next 3-5 years.

If they delay the digital streaming, it’ll probably cross 700 Mn which was always the high end of predictions for me.

I would say it ends a lot like Westworld S1 which also had a self contained storyline but hinted at much larger inter connected events which failed to live up in subsequent seasons

Still I’ll hold off recommending this show till I’ve seen season 2 going by jonathon nolans track record….hes not the better of the Nolan brothers when it comes to writing that’s for sure.

Btw I’ve heard from a lot of online grumbling that the show contradicts a lot of the canon,lore and world building especially around the factions and how and why the nukes happened in the first place. I’m curious as to what the hardcore fallout fans of all the games feel about this show…I really enjoyed it but I didn’t know jackshit about the lore and have barely played a few hours of fallout 3. Is it Witcher level bad in that regard ?
