The Tyrion of Fevre Dream (spoiler)

Billy is the bad man serving a bad cause. He's more evil than Bronn though. Abner is the mixture of Jorah, Barristan, Davos, and Varys. Maybe since FD was written first they are bits of Abner.

    Danaerys surviving?

Book Jon is very far from sane. His behavior in the books is one of the most destructive out of any character. Book Daenerys has been very reasonable. Consider the difficult issue of ending slavery in Essos. That can't be done without a lot of bloodshed because the slavers are not interested in morality but instead are interested in keeping power and status. The slavers' resistance to positive change is causing misery. I would never trust Jon with a dragon. Look at the damage he did at the wall with the little power that he had. He took an institution that has stood for thousands of years and destroyed it to get his sister from her husband. Jon would use a dragon to punish those families who have wronged the Starks. That is unethical and will only cause more damage.

    Dany and child murder

This again. I have to say it makes for interesting talk. Start by tackling the executions of Rickard Stark and Brandon Stark. Those who believe they were conspiring to remove the Targaryens from power do say those deaths were deserved because they were guilty of treason. With Lyanna being the glue to hold the houses together when they finally declare war on the Targaryen. Aerys was justified in executing the Starks. He was justified in calling for the heads minus the bodies of Robert and Eddard. I believe this because I think the chances are quite reasonably high that the Starks were part of the plan to overthrow the Targaryens. I know more than a few people here will still speak up for the Starks even if they are guilty of treason. I know I would still support the Targaryens even if the Starks are innocent. It is determined by which side you like.

Expect the unexpected if the horn makers are playing a bad joke. The prettiest horn is probably a dud. It's the homely one that has the real power.

Could be a trap to play a bad joke on dragon thieves.

    Characteristics of a good ruler

Yes they do. Ah the advantages of youth. They both could do with more experience and they are getting it. Petyr Baelish and Tyrion Lannister are smart men but neither would make for a fine ruler. It's the right combination of abilities and the experience.

    Why weren’t Robert’s brothers princes

Fascinating question on Bran's intended title. I say intended because it was only intent and hope that gave him that temporary title of prince. It's the north harking back to the glory days when they ruled themselves. Bottom line, it's just a title. Stannis and Renly functioned like princes. Behind Robert's heirs they are but still they behaved like princes.

    Why weren’t Robert’s brothers princes

Hoare has the right of it. I believe it. They were not the sons of a king whereas Prince Viserys, Prince Rhaegar, and Princess Daenerys are the children of a king. There is a difference. Stannis and Renly were not royal-born.

    Conjectures on Robert Arryn’s Paternity

I have to agree. His seed is weak and that is why robin is unhealthy.

Stannis wrote the Pink Letter. Clydas changed it

Would Stannis, knowing how serious the threat of the others are, do this to lure the watch away from the wall? I'm thinking he won't. His sense of responsibility is not that far corrupted by ambition.

Clydas doesn't have the balls to edit that letter.

Prediction: Jon will become a direwolf

Bran might join that pack. His dog is still kicking in the books.

Is death good? Why fight the Others?

I actually disagree with you. Jon's killing of Janos Slynt was passionate and brought on by his dislike for the man who he sort of blamed for the death of his father. So ice is not the good side here. Daenerys is liberating an enslaved people and that is a very positive thing to do. She has shown more mercy. Take the example of Jorah Mormont, who was partially responsible for the death of Rhaego when he brought her inside Mirri's tent. She banished Jorah but did him no harm. There aren't many people in this story who would show that kind of mercy. Daenerys is also willing to win the people of Meereen over despite how she feels about them as a people. Jon didn't even try to win his people, the Night Watch, to his cause. Ice is the one destroying Westeros not fire.

    Fate of Olyvar Frey

Let's not overestimate his devotion to Robb Stark. He's just a naive boy who doesn't see the big picture. The concept of a sacred oath is beyond his grasp right now when balanced against the man who was his mentor. The young and the immature overvalue friendship and fail to realize the importance of rules, the law, oaths, and promises. He will realize how right Walder Frey was when he matures. What Robb did to his family was not a minor offense. The red wedding served a dual purpose. To help the Freys integrate themselves back into the good part of Westeros society and protect their vast wealth from any punitive damages for their part in the illegal rebellion. The red wedding and the dismay of the north is a small price to pay.

Did the Red Comet _____ ?

We need to look at the timing. Did the candles start glowing right after Drogo's death? That would make them one of the possible lightbringers.
  16. 300 H&H Magnum

Did the Red Comet _____ ?

Yes. Perhaps it opened a magic doorway between the worlds of the living and the dead. The ritual was a powerful form of necromancy that pulled the dragons from the stone. Stone is grey. Grey is death. Azor Ahai performed necromancy beneath the trail of the red comet.

Maybe the First Men are descended from the Ghiscari. Both have a touch of evil in them.

Would a family therapist help the Greyjoys out?

The Freys are not going to disintegrate. They are too many and too powerful. Walder will eventually find the lair of the brotherhood and get rid of those pesky outlaws.

Dyanastic Rule. Khal Drogo and Mance Rayder

It looked like a collusion between Khal Drogo and the Dosh Khaleen to me. The other khals won't like the idea of answering to a superior khal. So who is pushing for this to happen besides Drogo and the crones? The leaders of the Free Cities. The magisters, sealords, and archons look across the seven kingdoms and see it ripe for the picking. An alliance with a united Dothraki people will make the conquest of Westeros rather easy.

“All men must die” just a maxim,a mission statement, or both?

Neither. It's just an observation. People are born, live, and die. Immortality is not an available choice. Even the nutjobs who called themselves the Undying Ones have a finite lifespan. They can prolong themselves beyond the normal lifespan but they will not last forever. The wooden dicks beneath the weirwood trees live longer lives than most people but even they will die. The cult of the faceless men perverted this observation and made themselves killers for hire. It's a sham because they are nothing more than hired killers but it makes them feel better than a freelanced with no principles.
  21. Stannis is devoid of compassion. Rhaegar would commit atrocity if he meant to sacrifice an innocent girl to the flames to hatch his dragon egg. But he didn't because Ned seemed to hold him in high regard. Rhaegar didn't even try to use her as a hostage. He had a good bargaining chip and failed to use her. The guy is a poor tactician. If anybody was stabbing Lyanna at the tower of joy it was probably the Sword of the Morning plugging the Daughter of the Night with his blade.
  22. Taken in isolation, this is the Night slaying the Day. I thought that dream came after the phrase "the last dragon" was used. The dream was meant to show her that she is the last dragon. The importance of this cannot be overemphasized because it means Aegon and Jon are not dragons. The armies of ice are the men who fought against her brother turned to wights.

Minor characters you wanna see lose and why?

Jaime is a character that I never liked. He's an oathbreaker, he attempted murder on an innocent child, he was insulting to Brienne, and just a downright dirt bag. Glad he lost his hand. Bronn is similar to Jaime in many ways. I don't like this guy. Sandor Arianne Samwell is responsible for manipulating the election process and got a deserter elected to lord commander. Bad move.

    Daenerys is Azor Ahai.

Megorova, I agree with you that Jon is going to return. But those prophecies from the house of the undying that you quoted above has nothing to do with Jon being Azor Ahai. I disagree with your opinion that he is Azor Ahai and you have proven nothing. Jon is not Azor Ahai. Yes, Jon is important, but he is not as important as Daenerys Targaryen, who is the main character in the story. She is the Azor Ahai, the Prince Who Was Promised. She fulfilled all of the criteria. I will trust Benerro's interpretation more than Melissandre. Besides, you're jumping ahead of the text and thinking up scenarios that is very unlikely to happen regarding Jon's body. And you didn't read carefully what the thread author wrote, which makes more sense than what you wrote. Those men in Dany's visions are definitely not the Targaryen kings because most of them never reached that old of an age and they certainly never had glowing swords and they never wore raggedy clothing (other than Baelor the Blessed). They were not the Targaryens of Old Valyria because the Freehold did not have kings. So when else were the Targaryens kings? In the very, very distant past. And the glowing swords point to these men being previous reincarnations of Azor Ahai. I agree with the thread author's theory and I find it sound, Dany is Azor Ahai of this time and that AA is female this time is the game changer that will end the inconsistent climate shifts on the planet. You have not given me anything that would convince me otherwise.
