I read the post and thought Winds is nowhere near completion and GRRM cannot seem to get himself to finish it. I was never optimistic about another book being released, now I'm even less hopeful than before.

It is really easy to ignore Tyrion's bad character traits because a lot of people in his life were cruel and terrible to him. He's good to people when it suits him and if he doesn't need to be good to someone, usually he behaves very very bad. And he has gotten worse and worse as the books have progressed.

I'm going to leave aside the question if violence is ever justified and if it is, how much is too much. But Walder frey, the orchestrator of the RW is still alive. I expect him to die pretty soon. And I don't see the all of the freys killed, but they will probably be stripped off their lands and titles.

Loras is at an age when 35 seems old. Jaime is old enough to realize that experience is a good thing.

I've never rated anything before season 8 lower than 7, but 2 at best. And I'm not comparing it to any other show. The rating is for the finale of eight seasons of GoT.

Yeah, it wouldn't have cost them anything. But most of the scenes with the dothraki were on the battle field and given the pace of this season, I think they just cut them out.

I always assumed the women were somewhere on dragonstone, it's just that we don't see them.

I think there was reason Tyrion brought up succession it the previous episode. I think the show might end with the seeds of democracy being sown somehow. And I don't believe Tyrion is a targaryen, nor do I see a targaryen on the IT in the end, but I could be wrong.

Also, even when Tyrion went back to talk to Cersei, Jon and Dany were having a discussion away from the rest of the people there. Based on their tones there was definitely some attraction there on both sides. So it's not all that disrespectful. Also, Jon was named the Kitn, and the Kettleblacks go to Cersei in the books despite of being much lower in rank.

Maybe what you say is true, but that's not the feeling I get. Yes, I can see how easily one can be frustrated by something that could've been done better, but one has to admit that repeating those frustrations over and over again can make the atmosphere rather negative, which is how I see the forums.

While I absolutely agree that it is wrong to dismiss the opinions of book readers, one has to admit that these forums are filled with negativity towards the show. Valid criticisms are one things, but a constant onslaught of nitpicking is another. One would be hard pressed to find a thread devoid of discussion about how the show is the worst thing in the world. While the show is by no means perfect, it's really good. The majority of show watchers haven't read the books, so I think it's fine that the show doesn't delve into details about the books. The books are the books and the show is the show.

LF had Lysa poison Jon Arryn so that he could gain power and create chaos to his advantage. And I believe Lysa admitted to poisoning Jon Arryn right before LF threw her out the moon door.

That's fairly how I saw it too. I assumed he heard Lyanna saying Aegon Targaryen but thought that because they weren't married, Jon's still a bastard.

So why didn't Gregor kill Jaime? What am I missing?

I think we'll see them next episode. And I'm not particularly fond of the Greyjoys so I think they are getting the screen time they deserve.

I agree. And I'm not sure the fillers to accommodate the travel time would be well received. I wouldn't complain either, but I'm guessing most viewers would.

Based on your question, I assume you haven't read the books. To answer your question fully, I'll need to give you information from the books and I don't know if you'd want that or not. But a succinct answer would be yes, it's a possibility

Gave it a 10. By far the best episode of the season!

I don't think Arya couldve withstood Brienne's sword making contact with Needle. But I suppose they wanted to show that Arya took Brienne by surprise.

Gave it a 9. A solid season premiere.

Gave it an 8. Would've rated it higher if the dialogue wasn't cheesy at times
