  1. As the show never told us how bad it turned to those who tried that in the past, it's more like an open ending, as for Jon's. The writers had no idea of what their characters will become, so they let us imagine what we want for them.

    Moral of each characters story?

There is some difference between Freys an KLs slaughters. Arya gathered not all the Freys, but only those she thought had a part in RW (they all cheered when she reminded them that moment). And she didn't poison women and children. Of course there are probably some innocents who died then, but not so many. If Dany had burnt the red keep only after the bells rang, it could be compared. But she decided before that to burn alive people she knew were innocent (children had no part in Missandei death)

    Independent North

I understand that line as Jon was KitN up to the end of season 7, and isn't anymore and can't get his title back.

    Independent North

Why did he told Sam in the crypts in ep 1 he wasn't KitN anymore then ? That's not a title you can have against your will. He resigned when he bent the knee.

    If there was season 9...

Considering how season 8 ended, I don't think that there is enough left to begin a new season right after that. With a time jump it could be, let's say when Bran died. Westeros would be completly instable, new threats could rise elsewhere (someone controlling Drogon east, NKII North, Westofwestoris who didn't appreciate being disturbed by Arya... ). Then new strong characters could be available everywhere, with no inconsistent history : good dornish princes and/or princesses for example... Flashbacks would make the links between old and new generations, but no more than that. for me current characters stories have ended.

    Independent North

No, he wasn't anymore. As Lyanna Mormont said in ep1 : what are you now ? a Lord ? nothing at all ? As he bent the knee, Daenerys was the ruler and she named him warden of the North. That's what he is.
  7. I guess the previous 3ER lived long because he was half-tree/half-man. Bran isn't. Sansa's justification for independance was weak indeed, she could just have said : Torrhen bent the knee 300 years ago because of dragons, last one is gone, so we go back to previous state.
  8. Because when Bran dies, next king woudn't probably be a Stark, but North would remain independant no matter what.

    Arya the Explorer

With Tywin she spoke of Visenya, but I doubt she is so found of dragons now. Sailing west is a good option for me, not the sweetest one because of the probability of nether going back home, I would have prefer her travelling in the known world.
  10. 9 for me, a good finale for this show. My only problem is that if i had to rate the entire season, it will be far less than each individual episode. (except 4th which i didn't like). It was too rushed, so important twists like Dany "madness" and Jaime's arc were not explained enough. (at all ?). Introduicing the unknown people who choosed the new king would have been cool too. Last i feel sad for shippers, because Sam and Gilly apart, all surviving characters are alone when the story ends.

    [Spoilers] Episode 805 Discussion

So, Jon knows nothing, and now he does nothing. And if you are friend with a Stark kid and he or she thanks you, you're about to die. Mad queen happened, i'm not really surprised, 2 or 3 more episodes would have been better to make that more believable. The only thing that's really bother me so far is the conclusion of Jaime's arc. I don't buy it.
  12. In the show, only 4 people know Arya is a faceless (wo)men : Bran, Sansa , LF and Mel. It seems that no one else wonder how Arya could have killed the NK, maybe they think she was very lucky for someone who used needle only once or twice...

    Daenerys and Jon are over

They are pushing so hard to mad Dany that I suspect an incoming twist. Jon could be the one who would be killed in the battle, and then she'll realize how wrong she was and will try to be as good as a queen as he would have as king. One more thing to add is that at this point, there will be no Starks and no Targs in the future if she died without child. (still hope for Baratheons, thxs to her). Seems weird, even for a bittersweet ending.
  14. 4 for me, I liked the 3 first episodes, but not this one. + : The beginning (specially the Starks pin for Theon), Sandor's scenes with the sisters, fiercest "Dracarys" ever by Missandei, Lord Gendry - : Too many teleportations once again, dragons unable to fly high enough to spot an ennemy fleet, Cersei not wiping the small Dany troop at the end, no one wondering how a young women was able to kill the NK, Jaime leaving (whatever he really wants ro do), Bronn scene; lack of subtility showing Dany is changing.
  15. I understand that . I'm only desperatly seeking for one smart Tyrion's idea in season 7...
  16. No she doesn't, her hope is Jon/Dany's defeat or at least that they are weakened enough to win the final battle against them. Then she doesn't need anything from Tyrion.
  17. I'm not sure if Tyrion thought that Cersei would really help or not. But the result of the deal is that Dany's armies moved north to face the main threat. Without that the North and the 7K were lost. Cersei would have to be dealt with later in any case, betrayal or not.
  18. Not so sure of that, the child would always be also Jaime's and Tyrion's niece/nephew.
  19. I think there is a deal, not about Cersei vs Dany, but about Dany's succession. Tyrion has talked with Dany about that earlier in the season, and then Cersei is supposed to have a child. After Dany's death the succession is unclear at this point, and Tyrion as hand of the Queenh wiould have influence in choice of the new ruler. I think it's why he is upset on the boat, Dany pregnant would ruin this plan, which will no longer exist anyway if Jon's parentage is revealed.

[SPOILERS thru S7] Where did the show go wrong?

I found that part consistent : Arya is playing the game of faces at that time, so she is lying and Sansa didn't get it and loose. That's not a real threat.

[SPOILERS thru S7] Where did the show go wrong?

The main issue for me of the WF plot was the writers will to have a big twisty line at the beginning of LF "trial" (how do you answer.... Lord Baelish). So they didn't show 3 important scenes which happened earlier : Sansa/Bran where Bran told her about the previous LF betrayals, Sansa/Arya/Bran where they decided to execute him and Sansa/Royce where they planned the trial. With these scenes the plot would have been consistent for me, but then no surprise...

Little Questions That Don't Fit Anywhere Else Part 3

Who will use Heartsbane in the fight against WW ? Sam will certainly not, and it would be a waste to leave the only 2-handed valyrian sword (Longclaw, Oathkeeper are bastard swords) in its sheath. Jorah could be the best choice, or maybe Sandor. Anyone else ?
