How would you kill a dragon?

Give it some sheeps, full of bitumen and pitch, wait for it to eat, and then if you're lucky it will mess up with his mouth, if he tries to dragon's breath you he will burn himself in his on mouth, this is when you need several people to kill it later on. PS: I'm not that original, I took if from the novels of The Witcher.

Why did Robb keep Edmure in the dark about his plan?

I don't see him going for Riverrun and putting himself in the same situation as Jaime after the battle of the camps, spliting his army in 3 while Robb and Roose can relief the siege at any time with him divided by the rivers.

Why did Robb keep Edmure in the dark about his plan?

Some of the credit must go to Little Finger. If they followed Tyrion's orders alone, the envoy would be Cersei, and this would be hilarious to see how this backfire.

Why did Robb keep Edmure in the dark about his plan?

Before Robb leaving for the Westerlands, Edmure had pressured him to free the riverlords to take back their lands, so Edmure only has garrison, and not a true army to defy Tywin. “And whose doing is that?” Catelyn snapped at her brother. It had been at Edmure’s insistence that Robb had given the river lords leave to depart after his crowning, each to defend his own lands. Ser Marq Piper and Lord Karyl Vance had been the first to go. Lord Jonos Bracken had followed, vowing to reclaim the burnt shell of his castle and bury his dead, and now Lord Jason Mallister had announced his intent to return to his seat at Seagard, still mercifully untouched by the fighting. Robb at this point does not have the plan to lure Tywin in conceived yet, he wants to take the Golden Tooth and neutralize Stafford's army before it's ready to march. “By now Robb is at the Golden Tooth,” Theon said. “Once it falls, he’ll be through the hills in a day. Lord Tywin’s host is at Harrenhal, cut off from the west. The Kingslayer is a captive at Riverrun. Only Ser Stafford Lannister and the raw green levies he’s been gathering remain to oppose Robb in the west. Ser Stafford will put himself between Robb’s army and Lannisport, which means the city will be undefended when we descend on it by sea." Robb ends up by passing the Golden tooth and after the battle of Oxcross, Robb starts to take several castles, and at this moment I imagine that he realized that the Westerlands, were defenseless, and started to plan how to draw Tywin. And then he starts to go for the gold, raids and cattle. The only mystery is how your brother reached him. Our forces still hold the stronghold at the Golden Tooth, and they swear he did not pass.” The dwarf gave an irritated shrug. “Well, Robb Stark is my father’s bane. Joffrey is mine. Tell me, what do you feel for my kingly nephew?” “My lords,” he said gravely, “we have had a message from His Grace, with both good news and ill. He has won a great victory in the west, shattering a Lannister army at a place named Oxcross, and has taken several castles as well. He writes us from Ashemark, formerly the stronghold of House Marbrand.” It is now that it get's weird, Robb is sending his commands, and informing his vassals of his next target. We know that Mormont is leading the stolen cattle to the riverlands, and yet we are told that he cannot be reached, and he also does not inform of his plans. If you want to blame Robb this is the moment he should inform about his intentions. “Robb should know of this at once,” she said. “Do we know where he is?” “At last word he was marching toward the Crag, the seat of House Westerling,” said Maester Vyman. “If I dispatched a raven to Ashemark, it may be that they could send a rider after him.” Edmure at this point is starting his plan to deal with Tywin, he is commanding Roose to take Harenhal, but he does not try to inform Robb, he even expect Robb to come and help him, even though he can't be reached and never talked about such plan and is now marching in the oposite direction, Tywin still in the south and has not started his march. Edmure is going out of his way to seek battle. They were all her father’s bannermen, lords of the Trident. Most had left Riverrun before she had, to defend their own lands. If they were here again, it could only mean that Edmure had called them back. Gods save us, it’s true, he means to offer battle to Lord Tywin. “Can Robb be reached by raven?” “He’s in the field, my lady,” Ser Desmond replied. “The bird would have no way to find him. And then Edmure starts his blunder, he still does not have his army with him, they are still gathering, Robb never get knews of this, as far as he know Edmure only has his garrison to hold Riverrun as he was ordered. Edmure is going against his command and going to the offensive. “Cat,” he said unhappily, “Lord Tywin is coming—” “He is making for the west, to defend his own lands. If we close our gates and shelter behind the walls, we can watch him pass with safety.” “You do not have the strength to meet the Lannisters in the field,” she said bluntly. “When all my strength is marshaled, I should have eight thousand foot and three thousand horse,” Edmure said. It's not Robb who has to tell Edmure anything, is Edmure that has to tell Robb about his intentions, his plan even depends on Robb helping him. Robb’s won his battles against worse odds,” Edmure replied, “and I have a plan. You’ve forgotten Roose Bolton. Lord Tywin defeated him on the Green Fork, but failed to pursue. When Lord Tywin went to Harrenhal, Bolton took the ruby ford and the crossroads. He has ten thousand men. I’ve sent word to Helman Tallhart to join him with the garrison Robb left at the Twins—” "Bolton needs Frey’s men, and Ser Helman’s as well. I’ve commanded him to retake Harrenhal.” “That’s like to be a bloody business.” “Yes, but once the castle falls, Lord Tywin will have no safe retreat. My own levies will defend the fords of Red Fork against his crossing. If he attacks across the river, he’ll end as Rhaegar did when he tried to cross the Trident. If he holds back, he’ll be caught between Riverrun and Harrenhal, and when Robb returns from the west we can finish him for good and all.”

The Blackfyre Rebeillion was a betrayal, not a rebellion

That is very unfair. You don't submit yourself to a juri that hate your guts. Daeron as yourself said, already had problems with his brother. Prison is just one step away from execution. Daeron should have summoned Daemon, before trying to imprison him, for a crime that at the very least he didn't commited in that moment.

Why does Balon Greyjoy want to attack the North?

More than brains Asha has ambition, she wants to be queen, and her kingsmoot idea is pretty much Robb's idea, but asking for garantees, demanding some lands in the north. She is also stuborn enough to stay on Deepwood Motte, even when she has no suport and gets captured. At least for me it's pretty clear that she would take Robb's offer, demanding something before making the deal. About Quellon, we have very little on him, but he did not took sides in the Roberts Rebellion and only attacked the loser side after the trident, when the outcome was already decided, so I can see him sitting out of the war, ignoring Robb or anyone else for that matter. I agree that Euron would use Robb and backstab him later, or ignore him and move on his on agenda without caring too much, but I don't see him doing what Balon did and attacking the north right away.

Why did the Freys torture Cat before her death, but not Robb?

Robb lost his faith in the direwolfs, after "Bran and Rickon's death". Your father’s gods, the old gods of the north. Five wolf pups, Robb, five for five Stark children.” “ Six,” said Robb. “There was a wolf for Jon as well. I found them, remember? I know how many there were and where they came from. I used to think the same as you, that the wolves were our guardians, our protectors, until . . . ” “Until?” she prompted. Robb’s mouth tightened. “ . . . Until they told me that Theon had murdered Bran and Rickon.

Why does Balon Greyjoy want to attack the North?

If we replace Balon, for other Greyjoy, how do you guys see they reacting to Robb's offer? For exemple, how Quellon would react? what about Euron, Victarion or Asha ?

Why does Balon Greyjoy want to attack the North?

They are never mentioned by name, I just think that this show how badly the defense of the Westerlands were. Agree, but a lot of it, was because of Balon decision. Otherwise the clock would be on Tywin since he has to defend both the Westerlands from Robb and KL from Stannis or Renly. About the Chinese idiom, the guy that made it cleary never heard of Alexander the Great.

Why does Balon Greyjoy want to attack the North?

Not just the Crag, I would say. Maester Luwin sent Alebelly away and closed his door. “My lords,” he said gravely, “we have had a message from His Grace, with both good news and ill. He has won a great victory in the west, shattering a Lannister army at a place named Oxcross, and has taken several castles as well. He writes us from Ashemark, formerly the stronghold of House Marbrand.” And this was before him taking the Crag. But that also shows that the Westerlans were just as poor defended (probably even worst, since Tywin deployed even almost twice as many men) than the North.
  14. Arthur Peres

Why does Balon Greyjoy want to attack the North?

Because the competition are: Balon the king of crabs, the one blind to what he didn't want to see and deaf to what he didn't wanted to hear, refusing to acknowloge what was in his face Joffrey, the illborn, the Aerys the III, dumb enough to not even close his visor before battle. Stannis, loved by few, and doesn't know what gratitude is, not a single drop of charisma, more stuborn and even worse at diplomacy than Renly.
  15. Arthur Peres

Why does Balon Greyjoy want to attack the North?

Robb is far from Balon, and we still have Joffrey as the worst of all. Stannis also is awful. Out of the five Robb is either the best or the second best after Renly, not that it count too much, all the rulers in the series are doing a piss poor job.

Why couldn't Robb send a team to retrieve Sansa?

The mountain clans seems to like him very much, with the whole "save Ned's little girl" thing.
  17. Arthur Peres

Why couldn't Robb send a team to retrieve Sansa?

Maybe is just me, but I don't see Robb as naive and trusting. Sure he started naive, as seem in the Twins he is overconfident in Walder, but later on even Catelyn is reflecting that Robb was manipulating the flow of their conversation and forced her to forgive him for the Jeyne fiasco. the way I saw, Robb's main flaws are his youth, his stuborness and overconfidence.
  18. Arthur Peres

Why couldn't Robb send a team to retrieve Sansa?

I think this is a bit unfair with him. No one would be able to win in his situation. Robb starting position was god awful and was not his mistakes that lead to it, Ned messed everything up in the capital, Catelyn lost Tyrion, Sansa is a hostage, Arya is missing, Widdling are treatining the wall, winter is close and he need to let his people collect the crops for it, meanwhile Edmure is making blunder after blunder in the Riverlands, becoming a hostage himself, and Hoster Tully worsened his relationship with his biggest bannerman that controls the passing from north to the riverlands. Then when he became King everything that could go wrong went worse, he was betrayed by everyone, his bannerman (Bolton, Karstark and Frey) his best friend (Theon) his family (Catelyn freeing Jaime and Lysa), the guy that has a common goal with him Balon, decided to attack him for reasons, Edmure keeps pushing on blunder after blunder... The Lannisters out of the blue, without moving a finger not only get riddle of their biggest threat (Renly), but also gain the biggest army as ally in a single stroke (Tyrells). No matter what he did, Robb was doomed, being cruel would not change that.
  19. Arthur Peres

Why couldn't Robb send a team to retrieve Sansa?

It would be impossible. If Robb tried to send a search party like Tyrion did, they would not be let inside the city like Tyrion said, If Robb tried to send men without his banner to infiltrate KL, they would not be allowed at the Red Keep so they could not reach Sansa.

    Jaime as the Golden Lion

Don't know from where you are, but where I live, if you play you words like Joe Pesci you will get arrested. Threat of violence to force someone to do something already is violence. Never said he was, but it does not change much of my view about him. He never took any of them serious to begin with. His KG oaths were a joke before he made them and the only purpuse was to keep sleeping with Cersei. Never said it was, I said that refusing the CR was him running away from ruling, and he still does it in the KG when he refuses the Hand position. He is not ignoring her, he is getting back at her. Do not forget , that he only changed his feelings for her because she cheated on him, not because he realized she is a terrible person and felt morally repulsed. As long as he thought she was faithful and loved him, he had no problem doing terrible things for her and her terrible acts weren't an issue for him at all.

    Jaime as the Golden Lion

Does not change the fact, Jaime is running away from rulling and responsability at any chance he gets. Several other characters had faced similar situations and were forced to take matters on their on hands. Jaime is always refusing it. He then refused to go back to KL later on when summoned and burned Cersei's letter. Jaime does not care about oaths, duty or Tommen, his main concern is Cersei, before finding out about being "cheated" he made everything in his power to pleasure her without any thoughts, judgement or regreats. After that he made everything possible to piss her off. All his thoughts always go back to Cersei. Threat of violence, already is violence and a crime in itself, and he did not just throw words at play here, he cast out the Tullys out of Riverrun and tried to kill the Blackfish. He broke the oath the moment he took control of the siege. The sword he gave her, was a heirdoom of the house his father sacked, so returning stolen goods that were violeted does little favor on my opinion, (but that's me). I had forgotten about the letter, so I give you that. What else he could have done? Look for her himself Shrik his other duties? he never acted on any of them Lol. Refused any chance to rule, being Casterly rock or Hand of the king, when called back he burned the letter and has now disapeared for months.

Lol. I never picked up on Cersei becoming a mix of Robert and Aerys, this is hilarious now that I think about it.

    Jaime as the Golden Lion

Tyrion knows Jaime better than Jaime himself. Before be sent to the Riverlands Jaime was offered the position of Hand, where he could protect Tommen much more efficient, he turned that down but took the first chance to go to the Riverlands, just like Tyrion said. “It will be up to us to finish his work. You must take Father’s place as Hand. You see that now, surely. Tommen will need you …” He pushed away from her and raised his arm, forcing his stump into her face. “A Hand without a hand? A bad jape, sister. Don’t ask me to rule.” Sure he is changing, but the core of his character still the same, he still a selfcentered, narcisitic, prick, that has Cersei as his main concern, but now he is angry instead of in love with her. He is not keeping his promise to Catelyn, he is pushing her family out of their castle, while he threatned to catapult her nephew to the walls, and he leaved taking her brother as hostage, he send a single knight, that already was sworn to Catelyn , to look for a girl she doesn't know and call it quits. He never wanted to be the heir to CR, he never wanted to rule as Tyrion pointed out. He is changing but he is still him.

    Jaime as the Golden Lion

This is part of the "redemption arc" that some people (not my case) think Jaime is going under. The way I see Jaime still went away from the capital to fight in the riverlans, instead of staying by Tommen's side, and let Cersei that even he started to see as toxic and dangerous now to control his king. He is running from responsability again like he always did as Tyrion pointed out. My brother, Jaime, thirsts for battle, not for power. He's run from every chance he's had to rule

    Jaime as the Golden Lion

About the Tysha incident Jaime himself feels guilty about it and had to confess it to Tyrion. His kids... let's remember how he consindered them first Joffrey: A squirt of seed in Cersei’s cunt, and he deserved to die. Jaime sat silent through it all, letting the words wash over him, a horn of ale forgotten in his one good hand.Joffrey. My blood. My firstborn. My son . He tried to bring the boy’s face to mind, but his features kept turning into Cersei’s He was curiously calm. Men were supposed to go mad with grief when their children died, he knew. They were supposed to tear their hair out by the roots, to curse the gods and swear red vengeance. So why was it that he felt so little? And now he’s dead. He pictured Joff lying still and cold with a face black from poison, and still felt nothing. Perhaps he was the monster they claimed. If the Father Above came down to offer him back his son or his hand, Jaime knew which he would choose. Now Tommen: “He is your son . . . ” “He is my seed. He’s never called me Father. No more than Joffrey ever did. You warned me a thousand times never to show any undue interest in them.” I could not find anything about Myrcella, but given the previous results I truly don't know if this is good or bad. About Arya, lets ask Jaime himself. “As I was fucking her, Cersei cried, ‘I want.’ I thought that she meant me, but it was the Stark girl that she wanted, maimed or dead.” The things I do for love. “It was only by chance that Stark’s own men found the girl before me. If I had come on her first …” And about Bran, even Cersei blamed him and seemed to be the best human being in that situation. I’m not ashamed of loving you, only of the things I’ve done to hide it. That boy at Winterfell . . . ” “Did I tell you to throw him out the window? If you’d gone hunting as I begged you, nothing would have happened. But no, you had to have me, you could not wait until we returned to the city. All this sounds like a really decent guy.
