I don't think it will be exactly like deplomacy but I have a feeling that it will have some similarities with how Hao Asakura is "defeated" in Shaman King. If you have never read that Manga: I feel that Brand's arc will lead him into becoming this god-like nihillistic figure that sees humanity as a virus that needs to be erased (it's probably the response to the Children of The Forest Lovecraftian spell of earing humans). Jon is the SOIAF and so he will guide humans and prove that we can be redeemed. Through this devastation Westeros will pass to a total monarchy (which is what happened in real hsitory) and The Great Houses will probably lose their feudalistic power.

I don't really like Preston for the same reasons, I am glad you said that. I just thought it makes sense. I don't say it in a bad/negative manner. I personaly don't like the way some people treat the author.

it does not mean that ADoS has to take that long (or that it won't). Martin only wrote Winds the past 3 years minus the early aroind 200 pages he had already written back in 2011. His productive writing of The WInds won't be more than 5 years. Also, a final book can run faster because the stories are closing and things get more in trail. When you write an essay, the last part is usually the easiest to write because your brain has made the connections and it running on it's own.

This is not happening. You will get Winds in the next 2 years but Dream is at least 8 years away imo. I don't feel that mad though. George has procrastinated a lot but if WInds is around 1500-1600 pages it will be a bit smaller than the whole Harry Poter franscise.

George is definitely overwhelmed by the fact that his life's work caught up when he was already quite old and he also writes in a way that is not efficient for an old man sadly. I am more dissapointed in the fact that he doesn't truly face the situtation and have people help him. I mean, he already has people that are trained in writing for his world, they are the same people that worked in TWoIaF [they are a couple of authors if I am not mistaken, our mods(?)]. Ask them to write the general story together, put the pieces down in a room and fill the dots together. Then he can sit alone and write the book, like he did for FaB, a much easier work. If you actually think of it TWoIaF is the general script for FaB and George wrote that pretty fast because of this "mold" technique. This also gives him a "backup" drive for his legace because if something happens to him before he manages to finish this work these people will be his co-wroters by that point and will be able to finish his work quite efficiently and successfuly because they will know very well how he is thinking.
