I swear to you, I am using a random number generator to come up with these letters and I am not trying to be cruel. Good luck this round.

Round 1 Results:
1. Murderous, jabbering after jinxed royal nobble. (Ser Not Appearing) 1+1+3+1+3+3+4 = 16
2. Warlock and sorcerer. Verily blue. (Eternally_His) 1+1+1+1 = 4
3. Weeps a shade vengeful blue (Dolorous Gabe) 1+1+1+1 = 4
4. Warlock? Arson survivor? Vaguely blue? (RhaenysBee) 1+1+2 = 4
5. Warlock attempted sorrowful vengeance. Boohoo. (Jez Bell) 1+1+2+2+2+2+2 = 12

7. Marine journey appalling. “Joined” repugnant navy. (Castellan) 1+1+3+3+1 = 9
Ser Not Appearing, despite his complaints, won the round. Almost everyone thought Jez’s entry was second. I was happy to see that everyone gave their first place votes to players who tried to tackle the brutal MJAJRN letters.
Standings:
Ser Not Appearing 16
Jez Bell 12
Fragile Bird 11
Castellan 9
Eternally_His 4
Dolorous Gabe 4
RhaenysBee 4
Please check my math, I may have made an error.
I’ll post the Round 3 letters shortly, but you have until noon EST tomorrow to finalize your round 2 entries.

I've had a request for a modest extension. You have until noon EST 10/7/2022 to make changes. If you need more time than that let me know.

I've got entries from everybody who said they're interested in playing, but two of you have sent me multiple entries without telling me your preference (I've sent them PMs). I hope to start working on the posts with this round's entries and next round's letters around 5:00 PM EST tomorrow (Thursday 9/29/22), feel free to make changes to your entries until then and let me know if you need more time.
Good luck to you all
-
I hope to get the entries to you by Thursday evening EST. I've received PMs from 5 of you and potential entries from 2.
@Eternally_His and @RhaenysBee, it would help if you sent me a PM.
This has been a brutal round and all but one of you is struggling so don't let it get to you, sometimes the letters are just cruel.
If anyone can teach me how to use usernames that send notifications to the user in normal post please let me know, I haven't been able to figure it out ( I mean like this @Dolorous Gabe).

Please try to get your entries in by Monday September 26th. If you want an extension please let me know.
For those of you who already haven’t done so, please send me your entry in a personal message with your username (thanks Gabe, Jez, and Ser).
Also, I recognize brutal letters when I see them, if anyone can pull off a great entry for MJAJRN I will be in awe.
Eternally_His, I think this is the first time you’ve played the game so if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

You can join. We aren't starting the first round until next week.

Gabe, you've got your marching orders.
I'll try to get everyone the topic and letters next week. I hope to run one round a week.
Also, if everyone includes "acrophobia" and their user names in the subject line of their messages with their first round entries I'd appreciate it.

That's five, we need one more. Gabe, if you want to try talking Ser into playing now's the time. Once we have six players I'll wait about a week before starting the first round to see if we can get one or two more players.

That's 3, 3 to go. If anyone has sent me a message I haven't received it.

If I can get at least six players I would like to run a game of Acrophobia. I think this would be game 43, if that's wrong please correct me.
The theme would be magic users.
For these of you who haven't played these are the rules: each round I will give the name of a magic user and one or more sets of letters. You create a an answer as if the set of letters were an acronym. So, for example, if the letters were IPRAF and the theme was Jojen paste you could enter "Ingredients: pureed Reed, acorns, flower." After that, the other players vote on entries that are still anonymous and that's how you score points. At the end of seven rounds the player with the most points wins.
Please send your creation to me in a private message - send me a private message thread entitled "Acrophobia #42: [insert your board name here]" Keep using this PM to send subsequent entries.
Scoring
You vote for your favorite three entries in order of preference.
1st place is worth 3 points
2nd place is worth 2 points
3rd place is worth 1 point
You will receive a point for creating an entry and a point for voting.
The player with the highest number of 1st place votes will gain an extra 3 points, 2 points each if there is tie

I got a "Lyanna is the Hooded Man"
I'm intrigued. I could see someone coming up with it on their own.In the crypts of Winterfell iron longswords are placed across the lap of each who had been Lord of Winterfell, to keep the vengeful spirits in their crypts. There's only one person entombed in the crypts without such a longsword, Lyanna Stark. If there's any vengeful spirit haunting Winterfell it is most likely hers.

Thanks Castellan. Glad to hear you're OK but sad to hear about your family member. I hope it's not too bad.
-
I don't think Castellan has posted since this thread went dead. Does anyone know if she's OK?
-
Brienne is a descendant of Dunk. I think the crackpot theory generator is broken.
-
For the first time in two seasons we had an episode where everything (except for Cersei being crowned) made sense. For that reason alone I gave this episode a 10/10. Plus, how could you not love Olenna Tyrell telling off the sand snakes.
-
I liked this episode and if it had come earlier in the season I would have given it a higher rating, but in the last two seasons episodes 8 were Hardhome and The Mountain and the Viper. It's probably unfair but I expect episode 8 to be amazing and this week it was just good. 5/10 largely because of my inflated expectations.
-
Lyanna Mormont was flawless and the Hound was flawless, also Jaime's scenes at Riverrun were close to the book. I really liked this episode because it felt more like the book story than we've seen in a lot of episodes for the last two years. 8/10 perfectly happy with this episode.
-
The show's been pretty schizophrenic this season so far. Every episode has had some really good scenes and some really bad scenes and I've based my rating on which I thought there was more of. This was the first episode this season where I didn't think there were any really bad scenes, but it also was a pretty dull episode without a lot of great scenes. I gave it 6/10, it's a perfectly fine episode without much to complain about but I hope it's a set up episode for some spectacular stories later in the season.
-
Finally an episode that lives up to the quality we've come to expect from the earlier seasons. I only gave it a 9/10 because the king's moot didn't make much sense and Littlefinger's scenes were a little off but the ending was flawless.

There's one player that hasn't voted yet, I've sent them a PM. Everyone has submitted entries but several of you haven't told me what your final entry is. Once I have all of your final entries and rockniffer's votes I'll post the results.
