  1. Man, what a brutal pun that is. SMH. This video really puts in perspective Dany's abrupt character change from a graceful leader to a tyrant. S02E05: The Ghost of Harrenhal Jorah - You have a good claim. A title. A birthright. But you have something more than that. You may cover it up and deny it, but you have a gentle heart. You would not only be respected and feared, you would be loved. Someone who can rule and should rule. S03E03 - Walk of Punishment. JORAH: If you want to sit on the throne your ancestors built you must win it, that will mean blood on your hands before the thing is done. DAENERYS: The blood of my enemies, not the blood of innocents. S05E01 - The Wars to Come DAARIO: You're not the Mother of Unsullied. You're the Mother of Dragons. DAENERYS: I don't want another child's bones dropped at my feet. S03E07 - The Bear and the Maiden Fair DAENERYS: How many slaves are there in Yunkai? JORAH: 200,000. If not more. DAENERYS: Then we have 200,000 reasons to take the city. S07E02 - Stormborn YARA: If you want the Iron Throne, take it. We have an army, a fleet, and three dragons. We should hit King's Landing now, hard, with everything we have. The city will fall within a day. TYRION: If we turn the dragons loose, tens of thousands will die in the firestorms. ELLARIA: It's called war. You don't have the stomach for it, scurry back into hiding. TYRION: I know how you wage war. We don't poison little girls here. Myrcella was innocent. ELLARIA: She was a Lannister. There are no innocent Lannisters. My greatest regret is that Oberyn died fighting for you. DAENERYS: That's enough. Lord Tyrion is Hand of the Queen. You will treat him with respect. I am not here to be queen of the ashes. OLENNA: That's very nice to hear. Of course, I can't remember a queen who was better loved than my granddaughter. The common people loved her. The nobles loved her. And what is left of her now? Ashes. S07E05 - Eastwatch DAENERYS: I know what Cersei has told you. That I've come to destroy your cities, burn down your homes, murder you, and orphan your children. That's Cersei Lannister, not me. I'm not here to murder, and all I want to destroy is the wheel that has rolled over rich and poor to the benefit of no one but the Cersei Lannisters of the world. S07E06 - Beyond the Wall TYRION: Nobody trusts my sister less than I do, believe me. But if we go to the capital, we'll go with two armies, we'll go with three dragons, and anyone touches you, King's Landing burns down to the foundation stone. DAENERYS: And right now she's thinking of how to set a trap. TYRION: Of cours she is. And she's wondering what trap you're laying for her. DAENERYS: Are we? Laying any traps? TYRION: If we want to create a new and better world, I'm not sure deceit and mass murder is the best way to start. DAENERYS: Which war was won without deceit and mass murder? TYRION: Yes, you'll need to be ruthless if you're going to win the throne. You need to inspire a degree of fear. But fear is all Cersei has. It's all my father had And Joffrey. It makes their power brittle. Because everyone beneath them longs to see them dead.
  2. After watching this last season I'm baffled by what his purpose was? He serves the Night's watch, gets murdered by them, gets revived, retakes Winterfell, meets Dany and convinces her to help him defend the north from the White Walkers, finds out he is the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark, defends Winterfell from the White Walkers, fights at Kings Landing, Kills Dany, and gets banished back to the Night's watch. He does all these things to end up back at square one. I have never witnessed a main character have such an anticlimactic ending. WTF?

What was the purpose of Jon Snow?

I know Drogon never beat her but he did rape her when she was a child and Viserys did beat her. You just can't compare Sansa to Dany in the show and most certainly not in the books because nothing tragic happened to her in the books. That why you keep bringing up Ramsey because without D&D adding him to Sansa's story you would have no sob story for Sansa.

That doesn't surprise me. You have no answer to my statement because your nonsense statements have no ground to stand on.

What was the purpose of Jon Snow?

Sansa can't hold a candle to what Dany has been through. 1. Verbally and physically abused by her own brother throughout her childhood. 2, Raped multiple times by Khal Drogo when she was 13. 3. Impregnated by Khal Drogo when she is still a child. 4. Loses her child. 5. She is forced to kill Khal Drogo after he went brain dead. 6. Has multiple assassination attempts on her. 7. Has multiple close friends murdered while in Essos. 8. Is betrayed by her own friends. 9. She goes through dehydration and starvation while being stranded far away from Meereen for days. 10. She is captured by Moro and he threatens to have her raped by each of the khals, then by all of their bloodriders, and then, if she is still alive, by their horses. 11. She loses 2 of her dragons. 12. She watches Jorah get slashed stabbed to death. 13. She watches her best friend Missandei get decapitated.

What was the purpose of Jon Snow?

In the books he did nothing to her because it wasn't her story and in the show not anything close to the multiple rapes and beatings Dany took from Drogo and Viserys when she was just a child. Get the fuck out of here with how Sansa had it so hard bullshit! Remember times when the Hound to saved Sansa from being raped and tired to save her from what was going to happened to her by Joffrey and Ramsey but she refused him because she was set on becoming a queen and sealed her own fate. Sansa had somebody to protect her and even had a way out. Dany had neither.

What was the purpose of Jon Snow?

LMAO! Sansa didn't experience anything close to what Dany did. Not in the show and most certainly not in the books. To try and compare her story to Dany's is utterly ridiculous.

What was the purpose of Jon Snow?

I listed all of the things Jon has done that were leading him to...nothing. D&D made his character irrelevant in S8. He did all of these heroic things in the previous seasons for it to be all for not in the finale.

    The character assassination of Daenerys

You're are wrong in so many ways it's not even funny. I noticed that you didn't pick apart any of the quotes I used from the show which shows me you obviously have no argument with them. Her character is is pretty easy to understand: She does not want to be like any other Targaryen before her and she wants to break the wheel. No other character wants to change the system that is in place but her so this shows the watcher that she is on a very unique path of stopping the tyrannical rulers like she did in Essos and was going to do in Westeros. As you know D&D are not the original writers of the show so all of this "characterization"you keep repeating is null and void. D&D made up their mind to character assassinate Daenerys in one season and it's blatantly obvious. FYI. Dany went through way worst in Essos by losing Drogo, her son and many, many close friends and her character never wavered.
  10. I now see how much that D&D cut out and how they copied and pasted character story lines and attached them to other characters (Arya, Sansa etc) and I can say with confidence that there is absolutely nothing in the books that allude to Daenerys being crazy. Nothing.

Yeah, they just made sure to make it impossible for her to be redeemed.

Your welcome. This has been on my mind and I just had to make a thread about it.

What was the purpose of Jon Snow?

Jon is nothing like Siegfried. Jon had a purpose to unite different houses for one cause to defeat the Night King. He get's his story hijacked in the TV Show by Arya and does nothing heroic in this season like he has done in the past seasons.

That still doesn't give reason for his brush to the side ending.

    Parallels - Cleopatra and Daenerys

Exactly. I listen to a podcast about Cleopatra and her incestuous roots are way worse than Dany's. We are talkimg about generation after generation being incestuous and killing one another. It runs so deep.
  18. I'm baffled as to who she was morphed into in S8. She went from having a sense of self awareness to becoming this delusional tyrannical child. In her last scene with Jon she acted completely detached from reality and was acting like a sociopath. What in the world did D&D do to her character?

You just described warfare. Cities will burn and people will die in warfare in that time and this time. She never went out of her way to kill innocent men, women and children. It just is not in her character.

None of that points to her committing mass murder. She is not capable of doing that because as showed in the books and the show she has a strong conscious. Murdered. Though his lips never moved, somehow she could hear his voice, whispering in her ear. You never mourned me, sister. It is hard to die unmourned. “I loved you once.” Once, he said, so bitterly it made her shudder. You were supposed to be my wife, to bear me children with silver hair and purple eyes, to keep the blood of the dragon pure. I took care of you. I taught you who you were. I fed you. I sold our mother’s crown to keep you fed. “You hurt me. You frightened me.” Only when you woke the dragon. I loved you. “You sold me. You betrayed me.” No. You were the betrayer. You turned against me, against your own blood. They cheated me. Your horsey husband and his stinking savages. They were cheats and liars. They promised me a golden crown and gave me this. He touched the molten gold that was creeping down his face, and smoke rose from his finger. I put in bold what Dany's responses to her brother in her dream. As you can see she tried her best to help her brother but all he did was physically and mentally abused her. Notice this is a dream she is having while starved and dehydrated yet she still retains her common sense.

You guys again continue to hold Dany to different standards and bran her crazy for her decisions in times of war. She has done nothing close to these monsters. Tywin Lannister: Orders the gang rape of his Tyrion's child wife Tysha. Ordered Gregor Clegane and Amory Lorch to murder Elia Martell and her 2 children, Rhaenys and Aegon Targaryen, during the Sack of King’s Landing. Ordered the massacre of Robb Stark, his mother, pregnant wife Talisa and his banner-men at the Red Wedding. Cersei Lannister (the actual Mad Queen) Murdered her childhood friend by pushing her in a well. She aborts King Robert’s one legitimate heir. She gives women to Qyburn to “experiment” on. Cersei ordered Ned to kill Arya's direwolf. Orderd Qyburn blow up the sept killing her enemies and innocent citizens. Tyrion Lannister: Orders Bronn to murder, chop up and cook Symon Silver Tongue in a stew. He later jokes about the murder, saying that he likes to refer to the greasy dish served by the shop, known colloquially as “a bowl of brown”, as “singer’s stew”. Murders Shae. Assaults and rapes a young slave girl. Those are just some of the characters that have down horrendous things in the book/show and are never mentioned like Dany is when it comes to crimes.

This shows how malnourished and dehydrated she was that she was seeing and hearing things. It also shows how Dany was so sad that her dragon had killed a little girl that she chained up 2 of her dragons in order to prevent them doing the same thing or worse. This one instance that proves she is not crazy and has empathy for the innocent. “Drogon killed a little girl. Her name was … her name …” Dany could not recall the child’s name. That made her so sad that she would have cried if all her tears had not been burned away. “I will never have a little girl. I was the Mother of Dragons.” Aye, the grass said, but you turned against your children. Her belly was empty, her feet sore and blistered, and it seemed to her that the cramping had grown worse. Her guts were full of writhing snakes biting at her bowels. She scooped up a handful of mud and water in trembling hands.
