I hate the Starks, should I keep reading?

Life’s too short, and there are too many good books out there to waste our time on those we don’t like. The Starks are the protagonists. I know I’d have a hard time reading if I hated them all. Hell. I’ve been stuck in the middle of a Catelyn chapter for more than a day now. I can’t stand her. If I felt the same way about the rest of the Starks, I’d be nowhere. Why suffer through it? If you’re asking us, it seems obvious to me that you want to stop, so just do it. You don’t need our permission. If the pain outweighs the reward, quit reading.

    Ask D&D

Answer: We’d extend them to twenty minutes each because the audience still doesn’t appreciate or understand our creative vision. Question: WTF is up with the symbols that the White Walkers liked to leave behind?

    passing the wall

Well, if the Night King built a large, wooden badger . . . .

    Writing awards for D&D!

I agree, but Benioff and Weiss didn’t write that one, did they?

Who got the most screwed over

Bronn did pretty well for himself.

POVs you wished for and that you were weary of?

I would have liked one chapter from Robert’s perspective. It’d be interesting to differentiate how oblivious he was to what was going on around him versus how much he was ignoring through his alcohol abuse.
  7. I don’t think it has to do with an insult from Gared as perceived by Royce. Gared insults Royce in the first place because Gared thinks he’s a jerk in general, and Royce’s behavior in the text bears that out. I find it odd that Royce is leading the party in the first place. Doesn’t everyone start over at the Wall, highborn or not? Shouldn’t Gared be commanding Royce?

    Favorite POV Character

I’m in the middle of ACOK (first read), and thus far I like Jon the best, in part because I find the Others to be the most interesting part of the story. I also like Davos. It’s an interesting dynamic to have him disagree with Stannis but to still be loyal to him.

HBO’s own inconsistency with Jon’s ending.

Given the vast number of things that take place in the final season that don’t make sense, there is no reason that Jon rejoining the Watch needs to make sense.

Dany the Mad Queen was a terrible idea

    Blasphemy.
  11. I have never heard this before. Could someone please elaborate?

The aftermatch of the decision made by D&D

Benioff and Weiss have both gone on record saying that HBO would have happily let them produce more episodes with an increased budget, but they felt that there was nothing more to add to what we saw. You can read the interview here.
