  1. The Laena-Viserys scene was surreal, David Lynch could only dream of something like this. A little black girl asking an old white man to fuck her to preserve ancient dragon nazi bloodlines. 10/10 scene, I couldn't stop laughing.
  2. 3/10. The episode wasn't bad at all but it was very boring. It was not a slow burn or a immersive drama, it was just plain boring without a single strong moment for me to hold onto or to praise. I prefer character drama over action but this episode just repeated everything about the characters we already got from the pilot. I'm going to watch it for a second time and hope it will be better then.
  3. Why shouldn't it be? Rhaegar mentioned a song of ice and fire and he was prophesy obsessed. I do like how this revelation annoys a lot of people who in the past 11+ years have sunk deep into their own personal headcanons.
  4. You know, most people who are against the blackwashing of house Velaryon are committed book fans who are also upset over every other change (no matter how insignificant) from the source material too, like Syrio not being bald or Arya being Tywin's cupbearer. Claiming only racists and trolls have an issue with that is dishonest.
  5. I feel like giving this episode 8, 9 or 10 is premature and overpraising it especially since all the good stuff is still about to come and you can't rate it 11 or 12.
  6. The one good thing about the tourney was the heraldry. Bright banners and surcoats with sigils, I loved that. Even the early seasons of Game of Thrones never had knights wear sigils.
  7. In the show's defense, Fire and Blood does not contain the literal truth. It is written ambiguously with often many contradicting versions of the same event. So the show will naturally have a lot of freedom when it decides how it depicts any event.
  8. There were some horribly cringe scenes that really put me off. First the Gold Cloaks massacring criminals in King's Landing. I get that it was supposed to be a Daemon's "show" but it felt too random and I blame the editing. Second was the tourney. So they are randomly killing knights and nobles in jousting now? Those scenes were so unnecessarily violent. I liked Rhaenys citing Catelyn's thoughts about the green knights of the summer, but again, too violent that the whole thing came off stupid. There are a lot of jousts and melees in ASOIAF but never with this level of gore. But I guess the showrunners felt the episode needed action, since it's a pilot and they need the casual viewer to stick around. Other than those, the episode was pleasant. Not great, but has potential. The story flowed nicely and the pace was on point. Some changes from the source material were an improvement, like the Alicent and Rhaenyra friendship. Others I still find questionable, such as the blatant blackwashing of house Velaryon. But I guess there's no point in complaining about that anymore, it's done.
  9. We don't need to see Bran ruling to see how hard it is to rule, we've seen Cersei, Jon and Dany do that.
  10. Has anybody considered the idea that Bran might become king 40+ years later after the main events in the epilogue? Everybody seems to think that a 10 or 11 year old Bran will be elected new king...
