  1. She a premier eye witness to how much life and vigor Daenerys's dragon have. Life and vigor... I think I'm gonna start using that more.
  2. Unfortunately, leaving all jokes aside, those are all arguments I have seen on this forum, and it just makes me so sad to see such a great character be reduced like that. I mean really, Dany isn't a great character because she has no flaws, she is a great leader because of her flaws and how she deal with them. So many people seem to think of her as a Mary Sue, and it sucks all the personality out of her.
  3. I think you still don't get it. Dany is the Fairy God Queen. She is of the most inbred purest Valyrian line. Her wisdom and intelligence is only matched by her beauty. She can do no wrong, and all her actions are kind and benevolent. All people love her and those who don't are agents of the Great Other. She is Azor Ahai reborn. She will sail to Westeros and first deal with Aegon, who's cruelty will only be matched by his incompetence. She will reveal him as lie, despite having no proof what so ever, and the men will drink toasts to her health and sow dragon banners as she comes to liberate them. She will have the total love of the people. She will single handedly defeat the White Walkers and put an end to the evil Starks, and will rule as a benevolent ruler for hundreds of years, showing that totalitarianism and WMDs are perfectly fine and guarantee great rulership. Or so I've been told...
  4. Not sure who the leader will be honestly, though I think the responsibilities and glory will be split quite evenly. One thing that is unclear however is what the whole Ice and Fire stuff means. Sure it could be just about Jon, but then again given the countless parallels between Jon and Dany, particularly in ADWD, it could mean both Jon and Dany, so I think that part is hard to tell.
  5. Man, Mance sure has a long schlong if he can impregnate Lyanna in Dorne from all the way up North as the Wall. Also, hate to break it to you, but Brandon was long dead when Jon was conceived, The Rebellion timeline is unclear in parts, but that much is clear. Only someone of the purest Valyrian inbreeding can be the hero, is that what you're saying? Long live the ValARYAN master race! Also, why must it be two generations of incest? Seems like a random number, why not three? Or is it because then Dany doesn't qualify?
  6. I think the whole concept of Azor Ahai is a Red Herring. Stannis, Jon, Dany and probably a few other all fit the mark, and I think that's the point, that no one person saves the world, but many people working together.
  7. Which makes everything Rhaegar did, even more of a massive dick move.
  8. Still the supply chain and logistics must have been something out of hell. Renly should have counted his blessings that army never went into enemy territory or deal with a competent foe employing hybrid warfare (the Dornish come to mind) cause he would have starved in that case.
  9. So we're told Renly gathered an army of 100.000 which he marched at a nails pace instead of you know, taking KL head on. The question is, how did the army feed itself with such a size and such a pace? How did it not implode under famine and sickness?
  10. As I said, given the inspiration for Reek and Ramsay I'm not ruling out anything from now on in regards to his "inspirations"
  11. Groot appeared in 1960. Yeah but weren't the Guardians incredibly obscure, like bottom of the bin levels? It was only with the movies that they became well known. Thought to be fair as I myself has pointed out, the Reek/Ramsay story is an almost perfect copy of a pretty obscure Romanian story that to the best of my knowledge has never been published in high quantities in English, so I wouldn't put anything past GRRM to rip off pay homage too
  12. So I think it's pretty obvious SweetRobin is not Jon's, with his brown hair and short stature, and given Littlefinger's relation to Lysa and the things Lysa says. So with all that in mind, does Littlefinger know? I don't think he'd care if he did, because you know, he's a psychopath, but it would add a whole nother layer of fucked up if Littlefinger was slowly killing his own son to advance his plans.
  13. I forgot about that, sorry. Still I don't think he'd do it with Lyanna. He might have self-control problems but even he would know Ned would split his skull if he found out.
  14. Still doesn't say much. There are a lot of rapists out there convinced they're in love with their victims. Rhaegar being or thinking he is in love doesn't mean anything in regards to whether or not he kidnapped Lyanna.
  15. Very interesting. It couldn't possibly be Robert reliving the most important and emotional moment of his life over and over again, that's just silly. Obviously Robert is a rapist who kills a part of himself in his sleep every night and is jealous of Rhaegar for hiding Lyanna, even though in your theory there would be no reason for hiding. Yup, absolutely 100% makes sense.
  16. This doesn't make sense on several counts. First off his most common dream isn't about the rape it's killing Rhaegar over and over again. Interpret that. Second off, Robert is many things, but rapist, cruel or insane aren't it. And third off it's just convoluted. Like how would Rhaegar have "hid her" when she was kidnapped either from the Riverlands or the North?
  17. Good point, hope you don't mind if I'll add it to the OP
  18. So it's a fairly common assumption here that Lyanna went willingly with Rhaegar, but really why? Think about it for a second, we know that: - everybody did consider it kidnapping. That is not conclusive in any way, but it does point out that rather then being smoke without fire there actually is something there - Lyanna's biggest gripe was getting married to a unfaithful man that hardly knew her but proclaimed his love for her. So instead she runs off with an unfaithful man that hardly knew her but proclaimed his love for her. Really makes sense, to do the exact same thing, but with the added caveat of being stuck in the middle of nowhere and have the shame of bringing forward a bastard. - Also to counter the inevitable argument that Rhaegar was just too nice a guy to kidnapp her, please remember that the guy was obsessed with prophecy, "The Prince that was promised of Fire and Ice". He would see Lyanna as the perfect conduit for the Fire and Ice part, so he would probably see kidnapping and raping her as duty or some such - To add, somehow, after hearing that her brother and father have been killed, she still remained in the Tower. So she either refused to go home, or she was kept there by force. I wonder which is more likely? - And lastly and more importantly, if she did go willingly, why didn't she leave, I dunno a message saying "Dad, brothers, I'm running off, fuck Robert" So all in all, while there is no way to know for sure, it does seem more likely that Rhaegar actually did kidnapp and rape Lyanna, then the alternative.
  19. E bine sa vezi ca mai si vin vorbitori de limba germana aici, nu doar pleaca. Iar la punctul 2, la cum o duceti cu Boc acolo si ce face omul... clar muie PSD!
  20. Now I don't want to play the victim here or anything, but from what I know what you had wasn't as horrid (still pretty horrid, I mean we're talking bout communsim) as what we had. A lot of people from Romania escaped by swimming over the Danube into Yugoslavia, and then going through Trieste into Italy. But also to be fair we didn't have the massive shitstorm that was the Yugoslav wars, that probably make all suffering under communism pale. I don't really remember, was Macedonia involved. I know one republic left Yugoslavia without bloodshed, but can't remember if it's Slovenia or Macedonia. The same, here except it's even stupider. You at least try and connect to the most glorious and prestigious part of your history, despite being as latin as the Italians (somehow, honestly nobody really knows why), and having a really easy connection with Rome we consider ourselves ,,dacians" a people we know almost nothing about, and which basically only populated Romania. Even our bloody name comes from Rome. I think it's a little bit hypocritical. Speaking from our case joining the EU, and the combination of receiving their money and being under their legislation and oversight is probably what prevented us from going completely downhill, and is the reason why we still have a somewhat functional country (it has tons of problems, but it is slowly reforming and the country is doing progress). So I find this odd, seeing as joining the EU is probably the best way of getting rid of said internal problems. Really nice. Though in my opinion the best area of Romania is inner Transylvania, with a lot of great cities, monuments, and actual civilization, like Sibiu, Cluj and Sighisoara. The reason they're so nice is because Germans used to live in there (regrettably not anymore, we lost out good minorities more specifically the Germans and the Jews, and got left with only the Magyars who have the nationalism dial turned to 11), and as such the places are a lot more civilized, and are very beautiful.
  21. As the Spartans said to the Macedonians, if. Honestly Dacia, is a bit of a stretch. If it can be said that we Romanians draw from any people, then that people are the Romans (for Pete's sake our language is 80% Latin). Calling us Dacians is like calling the French Gauls. Sadly both here and in France there is a cult in the populace in revering a bygone civilization that just so happened to inhabit this land. As for the conspiracy theories, they're just great. For example a very large chunk of the population actually believed the idea that the Romans were actually secretly Dacians, and that Latin is actually Dacian. As for Romania, things are starting to look promising. The former communist party (now named the social democrats, even though they are neither socialists nor democratic) has finally lost the position of PM, and soon (after the corona) there will be a general election that seems like it will be the first time there's actually a chance for reform with the neo-communists seeming to get somewhere around 20% as opposed to the usual 45%. Though given how deep rooted our problems are, it's going to be a long journey. Thank God for the EU and NATO, without them we would still be up shit's creek.
  22. Fair point. Jokes aside but staying on the matter, it is true that we have a very rich history that left a lot of historical landmarks (especially in Transylvania) that however we are badly under using. We have a lot of palaces and castles that could rival the Loire that are just left to decay. We are a country with great potential still shackled by the shadow of communism that really fucked up our country and the communists (like members of the former communist party) that are in control of almost every political party nowadays and have a great degree of control over our country (not total control though thank God).
  23. Our neighbors and brothers the Bulgarians who rank just below us (though by a narrow margin) at almost everything. Though in terms of corruption ours is more widespread while theirs is way more institutionalized (here it's more ground level, with the higher levels while still corrupt going to prison quite a lot because of out pretty great anti-corruption agency, while in Bulgaria the corruption problem is tamer at the lower level, but at the upper level they're almost an oligarchy).
  24. Romania, the second worst country in all of the EU, and probably the most corrupt. Then again the country itself is very beautiful. If you want more specifics I'm from Bucharest, which is at the same time one of the ugliest and most beautiful cities in the word. Also for anybody else from Romania, Muie PSD!!!!!!
