  1. You meant Hotpie, didn´t you ? Seriously, I also hope he´s just some random guy/wight, no secret identity attached.
  2. The only thing I´m sure about the pink letter is it can´t be trusted. It must have been written by someone who knew about Stannis, Theon and fAryas escape. The letter also mentions Arya, but not by name, it says "my bride". Which leads me to believe the author of the letter knows she is not the real deal. Now at first glance there are two people who´d know, Ramsey and Theon. But then I remembered the chapter of Ramsey and fAryas wedding, and Lord Manderly. He´s a character who didn´t play a prominent role before, but did during the wedding. And he used the same wording: We also know from early chapters (that I couldn´t find on the search, sorry) that Arya accompanied her father on several trips to White Harbour, so Manderly likely realized fArya as what she is. So, I´m throwing Wyman Manderly in as author, to get Jon taking up arms against the Boltons. I know it´s a far shot, but it feels just right.
  3. And GRRM with his "Gardener writing style" changes the plot more often than his socks. So I wouldn´t count on info that old.
  4. The reason I nominated Cat is the way she favors some of her her kids and neglects others. When Bran fell from the tower she stayed with him for more than a week and didn´t even bother to say goodbye to her daughters who were bound for KL and likely wouldn´t see her again in years. The way she treats Jon doesn´t improve her standing either. Being nice to your husbands bastard doesn´t hurt after all.
  5. Just posted this on another thread: R+L=J is BS promoted by the abomination. Jon´s the son of Ned and a woman he secretly married early during the rebellion. Might have been Ashara Dayne, not sure on that though. Ned was later forced by Hoster Tully to marry Cat fully knowing he was already married. Ned had to do it though to get the support of the Riverlands. Bottom line, Jon is the actual heir to Winterfell, Cats children are bastards.

  7. I´m not buying that R+L=J theory until it´s confirmed in the books. There´s better, more interesting ways to explain Jons heritage.
  8. I´d say Lysa Arryn, though she wasn´t bad on purpose, she was just bad on "I don´t know better." Interesting thought, and actually true. But my honorary award for bad mothership goes to Catelyn.
  9. Stark, obviously. And as some people mentioned before, Greyjoy, though I do find it hard to call them a GREAT house, They´re more like a backwater property no-one else actually wants.
  10. Hadn´t thought of that before, him returning to Braavos and getting new orders. But it would make sense. More sense than any other explanation I´ve heard.
  11. There´s a lot that doesn´t add up with the theory Jacqen is ordered to steal the book. -e.g. getting thrown into jail In KL. As the OP said, how could that happen to a master spy like him ? Furthermore why was he even there ? He could have gone the whole way Braavos-Citadel by boat. -he spends an awful lot of time postponing his mission to hover around Arya. From their first meeting to their farewell at Harrenhall months must have passed, maybe half a year or even more. So are we to believe the FM are so relaxed with their deadlines they don´t care if something is done next week or only next year ? I find it more likely Jacqen isn´t there on order but is following his own agenda in his own pace.
  12. Least favorite ? Catelyn and Sansa. Though Cat at least served as a POV for Robb. Sansa on the other hand ? Could have done without her. Cersei is also on the list, although one or two chapters might have been necessary lacking other characters in KL. For the most hated characters, that´s easy Joffrey, Joffrey, Joffrey, Joffrey ,Joffrey....
  13. Maybe he could do it that way, but that was just one example. What about Stannis, the Wildlings at the wall, Danys army, Brienne... ? There´s no way to put all of these story strings into lockdown anymore.
  14. I think he´s already past the point where a time gap would make sense. There´s some plotlines he just can´t stop right now. Or can anyone imagine a line like "And after Aegon took Storms End he sat down in his reclining chair and sipped cocktails for 5 years before continuing his campaign."
  15. 7 kingdoms, the name says it all. 7 independent kingdoms, let KL burn...
