  1. Headcanon. I didn't say otherwise. The thing is that Rhaegar is an elite jouster, he would have unhorsed Robert easily if the latter was just a decent rider. Robert wouldn't have been able to clash and kill this kind of opponent if he wasn't as good as him in horsemanship. Nope, @SirBronzeFalcon has provided the correct quote. Well they weren't. PS: Could you make an effort with your spelling? Sometimes it's hard to understand you.
  2. My bad. I think Daemon Blackfyre, Aemon the Dragonknight and Maegor Targaryen are above him.
  3. He wasn't even a swordman, his primary weapon being a heavy warhammer, but was competent enough to whoop JonCon's ass (one of the best swordsmen of their generation) and almost slay him. The guy is a beast.
  4. I only care about facts in this discussion, not your headcanon. I never said that, only that he killed Rhaegar with a single blow after being wounded by the latter. Fighting on horseback against an elite jouster like Rhaegar, circling around him and finally kill him without being unhorsed is not a feat that can be accomplish by a novice or average rider. He must be at least as competent as him, otherwise he would have been unhorsed and easily killed. If they were really roughly even, Robert would have been on the verge of death after killing him but that's not what happened. It was mid-diff fight for the Stormlord, he won because he was better, not by luck.
  5. This is nothing more than headcanon. You can repeat the same thing over and over again, it won't change the facts. You seem to forget that they didn't fight each other immediately; Robert had to face Rhaegar's men before he could reach him, and the same goes for the prince. Moreover, the illustration of their fight in the world book shows us that they had no warlance in their duel: https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/File:Twoiaf_battle_of_the_trident.jpg He didn't hit Rhaegar with these blows, hence the clash and Rhaegar managed to wound him, but the finisher was a single blow to the chest. Yes he did, when Robert finally hit him. "The waters of the Trident ran red around the hooves of their destriers as they circled and clashed, again and again, until at last a crushing blow from Robert's hammer stove in the dragon and the chest beneath it. When Ned had finally come on the scene, Rhaegar lay dead in the stream" AGOT - Eddard I Do the math.
  6. Headcanon. Better than nothing on Rhaegar's side. I said "when he fought Robert", not when he went to war. Robert fought in the front line until he reached Rhaegar, then he killed him in a single blow after being wounded. There are no more questions to ask, Robert had more stamina than Rhaegar, he couldn't have killed Rhaegar otherwise as he was wounded while Rhaegar was clean...until the warhammer crushed his chest. Rhaegar is too overrated, his only known feat in a real combat is...loosing to Robert in a single blow.
  7. Nope we don't know that. Rhaegar didn't use a warlance when he fought Robert but a one-handed sword, he didn't have any advantage against him. While Robert had the physical strength, stamina and experience.
  8. Nope, headcanon. As far as we know, he was more interested in the prophecy of the Promised Prince than anything else, and was trained by Willem Darry, that's all. Yep it could have been him, with a bit of luck, not skill. As Lee-sensei said, if they fought 10 times, Robert would probably win 9 times.
  9. Robert didn't fear Rhaegar at all, since he was far better than him in combat, by the way his wound wasn't that bad for the reasons stated by Lee-sensei. He hated the Targaryens, that's entirely different.
  10. You are making your own headcanon here, nowhere it is said or hinted that he learned fighting techniques by reading books nor that he trained with the kingsguards. You should stick to the text and less on your imagination. Yep and this someone is Robert, Rhaegar failed to end the fight despite wounding Robert.
  11. Why? Because he's bookish? That doesn't mean anything, especially in a fight to the death. Yet Robert killed him with a single blow while still being wounded. Sorry, but Robert is the better fighter, far better.
  12. In the show, she doesn't even talk to him and directly tries to kill him. As a result, he kills her in self-defense. D&D love the Lannisters and made them more likeable than their book counterpart. I agree with you about everything else, Tyrion treated her like garbage, her betrayal is therefore understandable.
  13. It's rather strange that Aegon didn't go and visit the Wall like his granddaughter did after him. If he'd seen the threat of the Others coming from the North, that's what he would have done. That's why I don't think he saw the Others clearly, just a three-headed dragon fighting an army. Prophetic dreams are more symbolic than anything else in ASOIAF, we can't expect a detailed vision of the future with those dreams.
  14. The Blackfyre theory is very popular among the fandom, I don't know what you're revisiting yet.
  15. Since Westeros is inspired by medieval England, then the best point of comparison is simply William the Conqueror.
  16. He's one of the only lords who cares about the smallfolk, but also see them as his people, which is pretty rare. He can only have my approval.
  17. @Corvo the Crow Could you elaborate on this theory? Who is the founder of House Weirwood? Do you have a family tree in mind?
  18. I agree with you then, besides the abomination already settled the issue anyway, at least for Jon's mother.
  19. Those quotes put an end to the Lemongate thing, which is based on the false fact that lemons only grow in Dorne. Jon was born during the Sack of King's Landing or a bit after that, we know this thanks to the following facts: - Jon was born in 283 - Jon is 8-9 months older than Dany - Dany was born in 284, 9 months after the Sack of King's Landing With our calendar it corresponds to September/October 283 for Jon, May 284 for Dany.
  20. They are enthusiasts who come here to annoy people, I even suspect them to be one and the same person using several accounts. Same phrasing, same opinions, same arguments, I find it very odd and it's easy to change our IP adress with a proxy or VPN. Whatever it is, you shouldn't feed them, that's what they want and they stay on this forum because of that: you're feeding them.
