Official Blatant but Honest Self Promotion Thread
The Grey Wolf Strikes Back replied to EruditeFool's topic in Literature
I'm being interviewed tomorrow at 7 PM EST by NYC comic writer, Benjamin Morse, about my book! Here's the link: -

Two things: 1) I think Raymont Baratheon's page should be taken down since F & B removed pretty much any chance of him being canon 2) The BTS on Nymeria's page says the burning of her ships may have been inspired by Cortes but wouldn't an equally likely, if not more likely, comparison be Tariq ibn Ziyad, after whom Gibraltar is named? -

"the walled port town that had been founded by Gundor Goodbrother when the Casterlys still held Casterly Rock" I wish GRRM would post another draft of a chapter from TWOIAF the way he did for the Westerlands. These little details are so cool that it pains me to think of what else there could be lying around in his papers. -
Finished formatting the story but fear I screwed up inserting paragraphs. (I wrote the whole thing as one big block of text.) Would anyone mind reading it and giving me feedback in that regard? (Its only 641 words/3 pages.)

Last night, I wrote in one sitting an entire short story revolving around Uther Pendragon. Ended up costing me most of my sleep but was definitely worth it. Now, if only I could write with such focus and drive consistently. Sigh.

I loved Spy x Family! Damn right Anya's adorable! And I think you put into words why anime humor works for me in a way Marvel's quips almost never have. Its the OTP absurdity of it. Kind of reminds me of Tom & Jerry incidentally. @sifth Do you know where I can watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes and where I should start?

Too bad the full text of F& B revealed Jon Roxton to be an indisputable (and unapologetic) rapist. -
@Zorral I would just keep the thread going until a moderator decides to lock it.

Have to disagree with the bolded/underlined part. I found most of the deaths in the Dance cheap and anticlimactic. -
@IFR @karaddin @Rippounet Thank you all for your explanations. Will try to catch up on the anime and judge it for myself. @Ran I'll admit the change to something more quiet and introspective was a surprise but I'm not against it either. Some of the writing and visuals this season blow S1 out of the water. Its such an amazing show that having to wait a week for each new episode is honestly painful.

I was thinking of finally catching up on AoT but someone I trust says the manga/show is both pro-Japanese imperialism and anti-Semitic. Can anyone comment on that?
-
Anyone watching the new season of SW: Visions? So far, I'm enjoying it more than I did S1.

@direpupy This might be a bit controversial but maybe divorce the crossdresser category from the LBGTQ category? Especially in a premodern context, people might crossdress for reasons unrelated to sex/gender. -

Probably helps in the Greens' case that multiple Hightowers have been shown to possess blonde/silvery hair. -

So you're saying the steel was strong in him? I knew Bloodraven was overcompensating for something! -
Maybe you ought to try writing it?
-
That honestly sounds brilliant.

Have you tried going to a different movie theater?

I didn't have any trouble hearing anything. Also, Chukwudi Iwuji really brought the ham to this movie. Oh, and I for one loved No Way Home. MoM I have mixed feelings about. Still need to see WF and Ant-Man 3.

Saw it a few hours ago. Loved every minute of it. Marvel's brand of humor isn't really my cup of tea but this movie made me crack up (and choke up) a few times.

Has anyone else seen Suzume?

Signed my first autograph today. Current Mood: happy

I think saving the show would require going back to at least S5, which was my personal breaking point.
