The Small Stuff That Doesn't Need a Thread. #8
BigFatCoward replied to LongRider's topic in General Chatter
1 is divisible by itself, or 1, is how we were taught. I've asked a few school friends and they are as shocked as me. I'm not misremembering. We were all taught 1 was a prime number. Is A still the first letter of the alphabet? What other bullshit am I walking around with in my head? And I was good at maths (I was the only person to get 100% in one of the exams for my GCSE's in our assessing board). -

The way we were taught was 'any number only divisible by itself or 1. So it qualified. -

I didn't say it was. I said when did schools stop teaching it? Or was my school just thick as fuck (we got 34% grade A-C so I know the answer to that one). -

At school i was always taught that 1 was a prime number, now im being told its not. When did that happen? -
Italy are quite far ahead, its between us and Germany currently for the 2nd spot. Us and Man Utd massively fucked it. If Liverpool had made top 4 I'm sure we'd be pretty much guaranteed that last spot now. What are the current coefficient rankings? Italy (16.571) and Germany (15.928) currently lead the coefficient rankings and sit in the two spots that will secure an extra place in next season's Champions League. England (15.000 ) is in third place ahead of France (14.416) and Spain (14.187). With France only having three teams left in European competition it looks like being a three-way battle between Italy, Germany and England for the two top places.

He'll be happy with that, he's not called the 'prince of prostate' for nothing. that being said i don't think we are supposed to make jokes about prison rape. -
Apparently PSG are going to offer £80m for Rashford and pay him £500,000 a week, that might be the worst business in football history. WTAF are they thinking? People will say 'he's having a bad season' but he isn't really, his production is not that far away from the norm, last season and 19/20 were outliers.

And pass up the chance to bring down the Royal family? I'd be planting evidence left right and centre, it would be like making a murderer on an industrial scale. -
Whether he was or not, how do people still think they can get away with this shit in 2024?

Preposterous though this is, i would like it to be true as that would be the end of the monarchy. -

No, but enough of them are that I enter with caution. Watched the first half last night, it was pretty grim but had some genuine laugh out loud moments. -

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-68544205 how is this only now a thing? Its weird because in the MET, any pregnancy related sickness is paid and does not count against your sick record, i assumed most governmental organisations would have a similar policy. That the NHS is behind the curve on this is perverse. -

Wife wants to watch American Fiction tonight, I'm always loath to watch Oscar worth films, they are so dull. Is it any good? I do quite like Wright.
