  1. I hope the Con organizing committee does the right thing and applies the rules set of its own Code of Conduct, but after looking at the ridiculous mental gymnastics on display in the File770 comment thread where a bunch of people are basically arguing that GRRM doesn't deserve to be protected by the Code of Conduct because he is a rich white guy and Luhrs was "punching up" and that even arguing for applying the Code of Conduct in this case is "a disgusting weaponisation of the CoC" since apparently it is only "designed to protect members of marginalised and disadvantaged communities from the actions of primarily wealthy white american men" and not vice versa, I highly doubt they will.
  2. 9/10 for unintentional comedy. The Bronn scene and the Euron missiles killing a dragon were unintentional comedy gold. 2/10 for what the showrunners intended. This show is a complete mess at this point.
  3. 8.5 from me. It was surprisingly good. The dialogue in particular was the best I've seen on this show since Season 4 probably. A bit sappy at times, but compared to last week's cringe it was way better. Best acting in a while too. Even Emilia Clarke was decent.
  4. Honestly, if I were in their position and the vast majority of the public and the media kept praising my work no matter how terrible it is and how little effort went into writing the script, I'd probably have stopped bothering to try to write something decent a long time ago too. Why bother when people keep praising every episode no matter how dumb it is and the show keeps making huge bucks?
  5. This one didn't deserve 10 either. The WF battle was really well shot and edited, but everything else was terrible.
  6. Giving it a 1 is no worse than all the 10 for an episode which seems as if it was written by a bunch of drunk 12 year olds and in which half the actors were virtually sleepwalking through their lines.
  7. Personally I am entertained by really bad writing so I find the show consistently hilarious. There are so many supposedly serious and dramatic scenes which crack me up.
  8. This was the worst episode in the whole show so far IMO. Just horrendous. So much time wasted with dumb unfunny jokes. Arya was stabbed in the guts but was able to jump, run and fight like an elite athlete on the next day. Jaime was ready to just let The Blackfish army go to help another rebel. These endless minutes where Tyrion and the other two were telling extremely lame jokes for no reason. Pod and Bronn...talk about an utterly pointless scene. The Unsullied apparently could only defend one pyramid out of the whole city. The KL stuff continues to be idiotic.
  9. Another terrible episode. It bored me to tears. Even the Hound was boring. Jon and Sansa teleporting through the North was dumb. The KL scenes were dumber. Yara's "motivational speech" in the brothel was cringe-worthy.
  10. Absolutely. It is actually my favourite season.
  11. Do you feel the same about people who vote 10 for episodes like this one which are deeply flawed in terms of writing? Littlefinger's teleportation, Asha stealing all the good ships of the Iron Born as easily as taking candy from a baby, the terrible dialogue throughout, the showrunners completely forgetting that seasons ago they established that kinslaying is a huge taboo in Westeros, etc.? How can a 10 be justified when shows like The Wire are written way better in all aspects?
  12. Yeah, these were excellently shot and edited sequences. Of course, then they ruined the effect of the crowning with the idiotic revelation that somehow Asha and her men managed to steal all the best ships of the Iron Born just like that and now Euron's guys will just build a huge new fleet in about two weeks or so.
  13. Huh? They have reached the point where they could cast literally anyone and the show would be fine in terms of popularity and ratings. Especially considering that Euron is a minor character.
  14. This is a silly argument. Do you have to be a chef to know when the food you eat is terrible? Of course not. I am a terrible writer, that's why I sensibly picked another career. Never claimed otherwise.
  15. You gave a 9 to a pathetically written piece of dreck yet you call others delusional? LOL.
  16. That was sarcasm, I am fine with all people posting here, Show haters, show lovers, in-between...
  17. Imagine how much cleaner it would be without the show fanboys. If only...
  18. Wait, you used IMDB ratings in support of your argument yet you are calling others stupid? ROFL.
  19. I avoid watching Mad Men immediately after GoT because the contrast in the quality of writing is just too jarring. Especially the dialogue.
  20. LOL, IMDB definitely takes kneejerking to a whole new level. 9.9? Why not 10.5, since it was obviously the best piece of TV in history of Mankind.
  21. Why would they give a damn about that? They may drop somewhat, but chances are they will stay high enough for HBO's liking and the show will last full 7 seasons. That's how HBO or any other big movie/TV company sees the world. They are in this to make money. What ethics, BTW? HBO bought the rights, they are allowed to change the story as much as they want. Nothing unethical about it. Comparing this to concentration camps is ridiculous. Martin is laughing all the way to the bank, he doesn't need you or anyone else defending the sanctity of his work in this case.
  22. From a business POV the show is a huge success, and that's what HBO cares about, so they were right to hire D&D. Why bother when the show is super popular already? it's a business.
  23. They are hired to bring high ratings and subscriptions and sell BluRays for HBO. Nobody at HBO gives a damn if it's a good adaptation or not or how close it is to the books. If the ratings are high and it brings subscriptions in, that's all that matters.
  24. To be fair, the adults as written by D&D tend to be just as silly and immature as Tommen like 80% of the time. :cool4:
