It is worth noting however, that the worlds second most famous (or at least 2nd greatest) trans athlete - Phillipa York, has a transition story much more in line with what Karaddin describes with regards to the physical effects, than that of some of the other more successful athletes that have transitioned.

I’m not sure if she’s really relevant to the discussion when she competed as a man and didn’t transition until well after she’d retired.

Turns out the "openly Jewish guy" was openly looking for a fight.  He apparently goes to all the pro-Palestinian marches, looking for a fight. Twat.

That puts the police response into a lot more reasonable position.

In other news, Huw Edwards has now resigned from the BBC on medical advice, having been suspended for several months because of the sexting allegations

I think the officer was really put into an awkward situation and yes, agree he could have phrased it better, but he's been done for basically telling the truth.

From what I read it was a bit more than just the “visibly Jewish” wording, apparently the officer threatened to arrest him because being “visibly Jewish” near a pro-Palestine march is “causing a breach of the peace”.

The UK too, at this rate. Olly Alexander has been particularly targeted by protesters for nonsensical reasons.  The EBU has put out a statement decrying the attacks on artists.

The UK doing terribly is just business as usual though

On top of that, the enormous waste of police time and resources being used up by this bill .3000 complaints made in one day, obviously won't be that number constantly, but I'm sure there will be plenty of abuse of the law.

It sounds like a lot of those complaints are either from people who don’t understand the new law, or opponents of the law deliberately making fake complaints (like the one the minister mentions which someone had made using her name). Presumably that’ll drop off in a week or so once the news cycle moves on.

With his brother gravely ill, one nephew in exile and another heading to jail, no obstacle remains to Andrew's reign as King Regent over George, Charlotte and Louis. The next step... move their bedrooms to the Tower...

I think he’d have to get rid of Harry permanently for that, simply living abroad doesn’t disqualify him.

But if that does happen then the only solution is for Anne to raise a rebellion.

  7. So I binged Prodigy this week, and it’s really good. Better story arc than any of Picard’s three seasons, some great performances (especially John Noble) and a finale which didn’t feel like they were cheating or pulling a resolution out of thin air. I struggle to understand why it got cancelled.

We don't talk about that one episode! Or Threshold! :)

It also includes Janeway making a reference to being a salamander.

Can someone remind me why Galloway is such a terrible person?

Oh, yes, he has spent his life challenging vested interests at home, calling out the UK and US for their illegal foreign wars, and has spent much of his political efforts campaigning on behalf of the Palestinians.

He also campaigned to remain in the EU and went on RT a couple of times. What a monster.

There’s also a lot of allegations of anti-semitism, often followed by libel suits or threats thereof.

Galloway was smart enough to try and win different elements of the Rochdale vote with different policies, but he did focus heavily on the Gaza for the large muslim vote. He even said 'This is for Gaza' when he won as a message to Starmer. We shouldn't try and downplay how much the Gaza stuff was the primary issue he was standing on.

Support for Palestine has been his main issue since forever, this is hardly news.

There was a time when it was practically scandalous for people to be seen without a hat.

Indeed, although gentlemen should remove theirs when in church.

One of the constituencies borders JRM seat, could you imagine the look on that dementors face on election night if he loses, it would make Portillo seem like a minor event.

Due to boundary changes, a part of Kingswoid will actually be in JRM’s seat at the next election
