  1. I'm okay with the current arrangement (although the article has large Motivations/Reactions/Succession sections outside of the norm). The text of ADWD designates the youth as Aegon in the chapters of Tyrion and JonCon. Without further information (future books), we should follow that designation. He might be an impostor, of course, but we don't have confirmation of that yet. Theories that the youth identified as Aegon is actually someone else are already presented at Aegon Targaryen (son of Rhaegar)/Theories. If a future book confirms he is an impostor, we would then split them into separate articles. The AWOIAF app also only has one entry instead of two. Separately, I wouldn't be adverse to a picture of the baby Aegon in the infobox, as pictures of Young Griff can be displayed further in the article. We could mention in the LoD and PoD articles that she held the castle, at least. Rhaena's article could state something like "It is unknown if she was regarded as Lady of Dragonstone."

  3. Although both are minor characters, the Conquest Manfred would seem to me to be of more importance than the Manfred of Aenys's reign (and hatnotes are cheap).
  4. "Manfred Hightower" disambiguates to "Manfred Hightower (Aegon's Conquest)" and "Manfred Hightower (son of Addam)". Wouldn't it be easier to have the Conquest character be primary, as we already disambiguate his descendant as Addam's son?
  5. https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/File:Deepwood_motte.jpg has Public Domain licensing but no mention of the artist. Should it be removed? edit: Maybe it's a depiction of Stafford Castle in England?
  6. Might it be better to have "King of Meereen" as the article title (since it is a concept existing before "Recent Events") and have "Queen of Meereen" redirect to it?
  7. Could it be the usage of "file" vs. "image"? Viserys uses the former and Viserys I uses the latter.
  8. The phrasing suggests the crownlands to me as well, since the "Blackwater men" are differentiated from the riverlords. As the veterans of the Butcher's Ball march from south of the Gods Eye toward Tumbleton, they are joined by Blackwater warriors as they pass through the western crownlands.
  9. My interpretation is that the Corbrays were more powerful in the past (Qorwyn called himself Lord of the Five Fingers after the downfall of the Shells and Brightstones, Qyle Corbray called himself King of the Fingers before falling to Robar Royce) than they are now (the Corbrays are introduced in AGOT as "an ancient but impoverished house)". Heart's Home is farther away from the peninsulas than Coldwater Burn (which is sworn to Runestone) or Snakewood (which is sworn to the Eyrie). I agree the Corbrays are powerful lords in the Fingers region, with lesser lords owing them allegiance, but the modern Corbrays have not been described as "Lords of the Five Fingers" (implying rule over all of them).
  10. I don't think so. They might be the most prestigious of the Fingers' various lords, but George hasn't given the modern Corbrays grand titles in the appendices. He has only used "Lord of the Five Fingers" for the historical Corwyn Corbray.
  11. That's my approach as well, especially since ironwoods are in the story.
  12. I use Ironwood (like the ironwood trees also in the story).
  13. I looked at Wikipedia's Manual of Style, since we try to follow their example. The Manual of Style for Capitalization (MOS:CAPS) says, I didn't see anything specific about capitalization at the Manual of Style for Infoboxes (MOS:IBX), unfortunately. The Manual of Style for Bullets and Numbered Lists (MOS:LISTBULLET) says, That is for lists instead of infoboxes, but the concepts could be comparable. Since infobox content should be brief instead of in full sentences, "other elements" might be in either format. The Manual of Style for Lists (MOS:LISTBASICS) says, That page for lists states sentence case should be used when in doubt, at least. Infoboxes have sentence fragments, so might it be considered that lower case could be used after capitalized parameters (Issue: stillborn daughter)? The Manual of Style for Headings (MOS:SECTIONCAPS) says, Most articles at AWOIAF have been using title case in headings ("Recent Events", "Appearance and Character"), while Wikipedia would instead recommend sentence case ("Recent events", "Appearance and character"). Any thoughts?
  14. Is there a consensus on whether infobox content that is not a proper noun should be in lower or upper case? For instance, Rodrik Cassel is a knight and the master-at-arms of Winterfell, and he is named by Catelyn as the castellan of Winterfell. George identifies knights with the capitalized "Ser", but he usually does not designate master-at-arms or castellan as formal titles with capitalization. Should the "Titles" section of Rodrik's infobox display his content as: or In contrast to Rodrik Cassel, FAB and TWOIAF give Jon Rosby the formal title of Castellan of Sunspear. His infobox displays his titles as: In the ADWD Appendix, George describes Victarion Greyjoy as "master of the Iron Victory" and Boremund Harlaw as "master of Harridan Hill". In contrast, George gives Galbart Glover the formal title "Master of Deepwood Motte". Should Victarion be listed as: or Should Victarion's family be displayed as: or George refers to the province of the Lannisters as the westerlands instead of the Westerlands. Should Tyler Hill, a Lannister bastard, be displayed as: or
  15. We could add that it might be an homage, but I wouldn't say it is conclusive.
  16. Petyr uses a dagger while eating pomegranates at the "Drearfort" in ASOS. It's unknown if this is the Valyrian steel blade from AGOT. If it is, Sansa might not recognize it as being special since Jaime describes it as being plain in ACOK.
  17. That makes sense to me as well. Regarding the Stormcrows, they might have multiple imagery, like Stannis using both the fiery heart and the standard Baratheon stag during the battle beneath the Wall.
  18. Hmm, I can see both sides. It would seem unnecessary for small trees like Qoren's, but could be useful for larger trees like Daemon Targaryen. Separately, should "drowned men" refer generally to the acolytes of the Drowned God's priests, or just to the Damphair's followers? AFFC and ADWD have only mentioned them in relation to Aeron, but IIRC he is also the only priest we've met in ASOIAF. TWOIAF mentions Maester Kirth's collection of ironborn legends, Songs the Drowned Men Sing.
  19. Looks great, excellent job! Regarding articles which have been moved, it's more important to fix "double redirects" than it is to update links within other articles. That can be done, of course, but it shouldn't necessarily be a priority. Also, articles should be moved using the "Move" option which preserves edit history, rather than copy-and-pasting into a new article. Do you have an example handy for comparison?
  20. Castles have household guards and urban settlements have their city/town watch, but standing armies don't exist in Westeros. The Free Cities often hire free companies of sellswords. SSM: The Starks, for instance, can call upon holdfasts in the vicinity of Winterfell. If they need more men, they ask their vassal lords to raise their own levies.
  21. Rather than ordinals, maybe we should rename them to Vulture King (Aenys I), Vulture King (Jaehaerys I), Vulture King (Dance of the Dragons), Vulture King (Daeron II), etc.?
  22. Maybe include it within a larger "fratricidal war of the ironmen" which covers the Iron Islands' civil war after Harren's death? FAB mentions "The ironmen, their numbers diminished by a year of fratricidal war, put up little resistance ... indeed, many hailed the coming of the dragons."
