  1. I am still here, but last year, my PC was hacked through my yahoo account. I have decided reluctantly not to use any of their websites this year so I have had to back off from Fantasy Football. Sorry I did nor check in sooner. My team can be given away if you would like. I'll miss playing with you guys. This was one of my favorite leagues.
  2. This was a fun year until I had the catastrophic loss in the quarter finals. I can't wait until next season.
  3. Man, Having starting QB's of Dak Prescott and Eli Manning with Dez Bryant as a WR1 killed me. If it would have been an average game, I would have been competitive, but as it stands, I was blown out of the playoffs. Great league... Thanks for having me as a part of it. The highlights is My Jay Ajai pick from last year paying off in doses this year. I had a feeling about him.
  4. Here are contract offers for this year's draft Dak Prescot $13 - 4 years Corey Coleman $9 - 4 years Jeff Driskel $1 - 4 years Eric Ebron $1 - 3 years AJ Green $37 - 2 years Victor Cruiz $1 - 2 years Terrence Williams $1 - 2 years Eli Manning $13 - 2 years Here is already existing contracts for next season and time left on them. Jay Ajayi (Mia - RB)  $1 - 2 years Travis Kelce (KC - TE)  $15 -1 year Todd Gurley (LA - RB)  $23 -2 years I'm glad I spent some time looking at them. I had no idea that half my roster was expiring after the year, Thanks for keeping track of all this.
  5. I do not have a roster shown this year. Am I starting over from scratch?
  6. Hey friend...MI always have enjoyed talking about movies with you despite having crazily different tastes. Here is my Facebook page. I'd love to interact with you here as well.

  7. I do not think that at all. If the Hound would have been restored by The Lord of Light, it would have to be a priest of R'hllor that raised him, not a monk of the Seven. He would also have not taken two days to get the point that the monk thought that he would actually live. Everyone else raised has jumped up and been mostly fine.
  8. note... Was this the least amount of swearing that Ian McShane has done in an episode of television broadcast on HBO? Someone failed big time by not having him utter the word cocksucker. I'm talking to you Mr. Cogman.
  9. I think that having this season's significance is enough to justify his time in this episode. I personally think that we are going to get a Hound/Mountain Champion fight, and being that this is inspired by ASoIF, I'd put money on the Mountain crushing our hopes yet again.
  10. That is an understandable position to take. I just think that he was so bad in this episode that it really had me questioning how he ever got people to follow him in the first place. He was uncharacteristically uncharismatic.
  11. Tonight was the first episode that I did not give a 10 to this year. I gave it a 9. The set design around the drawbridge at Riverrun was enough on its own to get a 7. The nitpicks I have is not enough Arya this week when the plot is really heating up, and John Snow's complete ineffectiveness in showing leadership.
  12. I gave it a 10 simply because of the dress Gilly wore.
  13. I am a lifelong fantasy fan. Sword and sorcery has been my escape since I was a small child. For almost my entire life, my favorite genre of literature has been treated like the above movie. I would rate this movie a 1.
  14. Just an FYI... I know a lot of decades long readers like myself who absolutely loved this episode. As a matter of fact, that seems to be the general consensus. A bunch of us discussed Emmies and Hugos. Feel free to hold your own opinion though, but I'd like to be left out of it.
  15. The Direwolves have been CGI since season 2 I believe...
  16. I just wanted to mention how nice it is to come to these threads without the prevailing sentiment being how crappy the show is. I still would have preferred by far to read the books first, but I am going to take a consolation prize of most people now letting the show work or not work on its own merit. Also, I can't even begin to express how nice it is to get a bit of resolution on plot lines that I have been following for close to 20 years.
  17. This episode should be nominated for the Hugo next year. Incredible... Hodor
  18. I am going to have to disagree about the high side of things here. I gave the show a 10/10 and I quite often do this. That score doesn't mean that the show is perfect, it just means that it is among the top tiers of shows that I have ever watched. Again, I grew up dreaming of swords and dragons. To have a show that has this much budget, that is based on books I have absolutely adored for close to two decades is so fulfilling to me that I can watch every week in amazement. At this point, the majority of people rating this show here is giving it a 1. I really just have to laugh at that. Clearly, with any objectivity at all, this is not among the worst TV shows ever made, but week after week, people flood in here and try to out do one another in reasons why they just hate it.
  19. 10/10... When I was a child, I could only dream of something on television being this compelling.
  20. Hey,

I have recently done a fair bit of communicating with Jack Bauer24, and you were absolutely right to call me out for the tone that I had been taking with him. I just didn't realize that I was talking to a 15 year old kid that was doing his best to try and get along and talk about things that he was passionate about. I actually feel bad for some of my behavior.

The good news, is that his posts have significantly improved, and he is really starting to contribute. I have done my best to encourage him. In the future, I will pay closer attention to the first time you call me a bonehead about things.

Hope you are having a fantastic day, and thanks again for keeping this place straight around here.

  21. The lack of response from the major players I follow has been disappointing up to this point.
  22. This kind of comment is exactly what I was referring to when I talked about the dialog on these pages has been reduced to the equivalency of Youtube comments. I see nothing to respond to here but snarkiness. Most of the episodes this season rated a ten for me. The reason being is that I am a decades long fantasy devotee, and the thrill of a loving adaptation of the genre and the wide scale acceptance of the it are things that I have been waiting a lifetime to see. I watch every single episode through these lenses. A show that deals with, and takes seriously the content, has the highest standard of acting in the industry, contains sets as exquisite as this, and is given the highest budget in television is nothing short of miraculous to me. This show is so far beyond anything that I could have dreamed of as a child, that I sit every week and watch it in amazement. For this particular episode, I loved every single minute that I saw on my screen, hence I gave it a 10. I am perfectly aware that my perception is somewhat askew, but with the ratings and adoration this show receives from people, my loving it is far less off the mean than the people who rate this show as the worst thing that they have seen on television, What disturbs me is the level of inane babble that I have seen out of people on this site. I have been a member here for only three years, but I have been reading these pages since GRRM linked them from his website in 2000. I have never minded disagreeing with someone here that can pose an insightful and logical debate about their perspective. Every year that the show has gone on has led to more and more people just ranting. I know that the major source of discord is that the show deviates from the books, but to be perfectly frank, I am completely surprised that some of these people know how to read based on the level of literacy in their posts. I am not talking about everyone here, there are several people that dislike this show and express it in ways that I can respect.
  23. 46 people rated this episode of television a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10. The hyperbole has grown to monstrous levels at this point. This is so far outside the scope of objective reasoning the word pathetic doesn't even begin to describe it. I would highly implore anyone that dislikes this show much that they consider it some of the worst television that they have ever seen to please stop watching. I do not take issue with finding fault in the show. I find a considerable amount of fault myself, but to constantly trash the show in what is generally no better than youtube rants is more than a little disheartening to read.
  24. The one thought that kept going through my mind this episode was that Neil Marshall has probably heard so many people whining about no chain in Blackwater, that he made damn sure he pit a chain in this episode. I really felt like this was a loving wink. Overall, this was a really solid episode with strong performances throughout. The only complaint that I have is that the scale of this battle just didn't seem to be captured. I wanted to see more giants, mammoths and wildlings. Oh well, the budget is what it is.
