Hi everyone! I came to ASoIaF via historical fiction, not fantasy, and I actually really dragged my heels on getting into it, all "Dragons? Magicks? Supernatural beings? Hmmmm." But a few trusted friends talked up the characters and politics quite enthusiastically, and the Wars of the Roses is one of my favorite periods for literature, and so I snagged AGoT and read it cover-to-cover while I was home sick from work yesterday (What. I was really sick. WHAT.). And now I've started ACoK* and I'm totally hooked and dammit, I am back at work. *A-Cok. Hee.
