    Congrats to Jaime on taking the championship this season!

    Guessing Race didn't see that Mostert was out?  Lost by 4, and putting either Gus Edwards or Roschon Johnson in for Mostert would have given him the win.

    For next year - JJ won back his spot by taking Westeros C.  Also grozeng earned a place with wins in Westeros A, Dynasy, and Keeper.

    For the 3rd spot, its a bit of a question mark.  I won Westeros B, so no help there.  Think our options are:

    1) Ask Jace if she wants to rejoin the league, since she is on the board again.  She was out last year because of issues with Yahoo - her 2022 season was actually really good and she won the league that year, but she just couldn't get her account to work.  So maybe thats patched up now?

    2) Have Jaxom retain his spot, and let the only change be replacing Tywin (who was last in the power rankings) with groz.

    3) Invite somebody who finished in 2nd place in one of the leagues.  Looks like that would be either Blu-Ray from W-A or Ace from W-C.  Would probably give it to whichever one responded first.

    Thanks man! Was a very satisfying season as went from a thoroughly mediocre team in the first half of the year to a pretty good, consistent one the rest of the way. Somehow won 11 of the final 12 weeks and still not entirely sure how. Just a bunch of small incremental moves that paid off along with my drafted guys finding their form. Also fitting to score 141.66 points in the finals in lieu of this:

    Miscellaneous data to pass the time:
    Average score = 141.47
    Race has exceeded this score every week so far while Jaime has eclipsed it only once.

    Just goes to show Cobra Kai is very goal oriented.

    ....

    Anyway in terms of who gets the 2nd open spot, I'd be in favor of giving it back to Jace, as long as she can login, as she was never Jaxomed.

    Every week I give my guys the same pep talk: "let's score somewhere between 120 and 142 so we don't embarrass anyone else or get embarrassed" and then they go out and do just that. Nothing but respect for my team of C students.

    Lost by 0.8 points.  I was down by 50 going into Monday night but had Cousins, Purdy and McCaffery against Hockenson.  That last Purdy INT cost me the win.

    I lost by 0.5 points earlier in the year in another league.  I prefer getting blown out to these close losses.

    I thought I was dead in the water after the Purdy to C-Mac double TD. You pulled ahead and then Purdy threw a pick which rekindled a smidge of hope. You pulled ahead again but Purdy was going to get the ball back with time remaining and he was just reckless enough all night held out a sliver of hope he would bail me out one more time and bam he did not disappoint.

    I totally forgot about that.  So, I lost this league twice on the last day because Week did that a couple of years ago too.  That must be some kind of record.

    Oh wow, yeah, that happened in 2019. Looks like you were tied with Week going into the last day and then lost 2 points to fall into second. Genuinely can't believe that happened twice to the same team.

    But the good news? Those both happened when we were still doing full season leagues. Now that we end in July I'm sure will never happen again.

    Congratulations @Jaime L - new champion!

    Came out of nowhere like a bat out of hell in the last week. Impressive finish!

    Thanks all for joining again for another year!

    Congrats Jaime!

    Thanks both!

    Genuinely shocked I'm the one to end @Week's 6 year reign of terror. Week felt legitimately unbeatable for so long and wouldn't call my baseball knowledge "expansive" at this point. Hadn't seriously contended in a long time, hell hadn't even finished above @Mexal in like a decade (which he helpfully reminds me of yearly). Was 40 points back in mid-May and Week was in the 100s, neither felt particularly unusual. Still not entirely sure how it all turned around. Corbin Carroll becoming godly didn't hurt. But also had my first good year on waivers since *checks notes* ever?

    Anyway first time I've won a roto league since 2009 when I stole it on the last day of the season from @grozeng. Honestly feels fantastic, both finally winning again and having an opportunity to remind Groz of that fact. A bit sad for it to be over (and a day earlier than I was expecting). Thanks Week for running the league once again and looking forward to next year!

    Guess we're going to go ahead and use this process.  So here are the final results.

    Experts
    Jace = 92.28 + 29.1 (Allen) = 121.38
    Jaxom = 85.92 + 12.82 (Mixon) + 5.85 (Knox) + 8.19 (McPherson) = 112.78

    Jace wins

    Westeros A
    Tywin = 126.42 + 13.04 (Diggs) + 8.74 (Singletary) = 148.2
    Jaime = 110.18 + 26.29 (Burrow) + 5.85 (Knox) = 142.32

    Tywin wins

    Westeros B
    Ross = 120.92 + 29.1 (Allen) = 150.02
    Whiskeyjack = 83.66 + 10.49 (Higgins) + 8.24 (Davis) = 102.39

    Ross wins

    Westeros C
    POTN = 137.36
    Jaime = 88.44 + 29.1 (Allen) = 117.54

    POTN wins

    All of these results are actually the same as what we already have in Yahoo after the Buffalo/Cincy game was canceled, so nothing changes there.

    Tywin, Ross, and POTN are all invited into Experts.

    Congrats everyone!

    @BBB Jacelyn @Jaxom 1974 @Tywin et al. @Jaime L @Prince of the North @l2 0 5 5

    Congrats @Tywin et al.! A recurring story in Experts is me giving someone hell for years until they ultimately shut me up by beating me in a pivotal matchup, like Jaxom did winning his first Experts title over me, and like you did in the W-A finals beating me to finally make it after years of frustration. Well earned.

    Also welcome back @Prince of the North! I liked my W-C team. Wish it had put up more of a fight in the finals.

    Maybe we should vote on Jaime...just sayin'... :P

    Believe me, feels weird returning through the backdoor. Would much rather earn my way back in but Groz had been DMing me since the spring to take his spot and so finally agreed to do so but felt weird about it.

    In terms of Experts logic, I was the last team Jaxomed and don't believe there was a 3rd qualified league winner out there to fill the opening. In the past if there isn't a qualified team to take a spot, we've let Jaxomed teams back in. That said, if there's a case for anyone else for it, I'm happy to give this up to them. There's no requirement we stick to that precedent. Feel like George Costanza loudly quitting, regretting it, and then hoping no-one will remember when he's attending the company meeting the next day.

    On the plus side, these 8 months of being out of Experts has cleansed me of the commissonership similar to, and spoiler warning for the particularly slow book readers/show watchers, the loophole Jon Snow used to free him from his Nights Watch vows by being temporarily dead. So, in a way...... this has potentially worked out better than before (except for WJ).

  8. @Dunknegg, @Babblebauble, @mcbigski, @Whiskeyjack, @Jaxom 1974, @boiled leather, @J.J. Lannister, @RaceBannon42, @grozeng, @Mudguard

    Ok with another Experts season about to start the league needs a commissioner. WJ is the logical choice as he already runs most of the other board leagues and is willing to do this one as well unless anyone else has any interest in doing it? Otherwise will toss him the keys and y'all can go ahead and figure out a draft date and all the rest.

  9. Ok we have our Experts lineup for next year (assuming no one opts out): Dunk, Jace, mcbigski, WJ, Jaxom, BL, JJ, Race, Groz, Mudguard.

    A new commissioner will need to be decided but probably can wait until closer to the start of the season to figure that out. Good luck all.

  10. Congrats to @Dunknegg on the Experts title. Along with Jace, had the best team all year and put up two monster scores in the playoffs. A deserving champ.

    Regarding Jaxoming, if I'm reading the fantasy football thread we have two qualified entrants @grozeng (from winning W-A) and @Mudguard (from winning W-B and W-C). In addition @RaceBannon42 saves himself by winning Keeper.

    Groz and Mudguard, please weigh in if you intend to join Experts next year.

  11. Final Power Rankings

    1) Dunknegg - 91-35, 10-4, 2263.38 points
    2) Jace - 90-36, 10-4, 2349.50 points
    3) WJ - 74-52, 8-6, 2161.44 points

    Byes:
    (1) - Jace
    (2) - Dunk

    First Round playoffs:
    (3) - Mcbigski vs. (6) Jaxom
    (4) - WJ vs. (5) BL

    Jaxoming Order:
     Bronn
     Race
    Jaime

    Saved by Power Ranking:
    JJ

    A characteristically wild last week with BL and Race's matchup and a playoff berth/Race's elimination on the line flipping late during the MNF game before James Conner finally locked it down for BL. Jaxom meanwhile slides into the 6th seed based on his win and Bronn and I losing.

    Additionally JJ survives by a single power ranking win over me (and by outscoring Mcbigski by 2.34 points) and was teetering on a knife's edge throughout the Monday nighter with the potential of being passed by any of the 3 teams he ultimately outscored. But the end result is JJ lives on to survive for another season. Once again, every last point matters.

    Meanwhile Bronn, Race and I are now all Jaxomed in that order depending on how many qualified Experts applicants there are. Though each can regain life by winning another league.

    Good luck to all the playoff teams.

    I'm coming to fuck all of yous up next year. @Jaime L, your bitch ass better not get Jaxomed.

    As you can see from WJ's post above, if Stafford scores less than around 50 points and I don't win W-A I'm Jaxomed. Maybe you can have my spot, that would be poetic. Though in the past your trash talk usually signaled your imminent elimination from the playoffs. Be better! I don't want you to be the guy in the PG-13 movie everyone's *really* hoping makes it happen. I want you to be like the guy in the rated R movie, the guy you're not sure whether or not you like yet. You're not sure where he's coming from. Okay? You're a bad man, Tywin. You're a bad man, bad man.
