  1. I have a 2nd draft at 10 MST so aiming to leave the draft time as is as it sounds like it still works for people
  2. Ok McBigski and Jaxom have both joined. We have a full league and draft time set per the above. The day is set but if you want the time pushed back a bit, definitely speak up.
  3. Generally think we set these at 8 EST/5 PST Monday September 7th unless that's too early for someone on the West Coast. @mcbigski, @Jaxom 1974 please either post or PM me your email so I can invite you.
  4. @boiled leather @Lord Dracarys @Whiskeyjack @Dunknegg @J.J. Lannister @RaceBannon42 @Jace, Basilissa @mcbigski @Jaxom 1974 Sounds like they're at least going to try to have an NFL season so figure we should at least try to have an Experts season. Want to make sure each of you plans to play this season so please weigh in. Race, Drac, Mcbigski already have. We also need to figure out a draft day. Honestly I want it as close to the season as possible considering the possibility that any of these teams can end up like the Marlins or Cardinals at any time and would rather know that before drafting if at all possible. If Mcbigski has drafts the Tuesday and Wednesday before opening day (Thursday, September 10th) then why don't we shoot for Monday, September 7th as the next best alternative? Does that work for everyone?
  5. Ok Experts 2020 is now set: BL, Lord Dracarys, WJ, JL, Dunknegg, JJ Lannister, RaceBannon, Jace, Balissa, McBigski, Jaxom 1974.
  6. Just got back from traveling abroad so delayed on this but wanna congratulate @boiled leather on a well earned title. Scoring between 189-194 points every single weeks of the playoffs is for sure the most dominant playoff performance we've ever seen in Experts. Basically unbeatable. Having the #1 player in fantasy in L-Jax is a big part of it but scoring to that level showed some depth as well. Congrats, man. BL becomes the 11th person to win Experts. Regarding 2020 Experts; Reviewing the FF thread, it appears @mcbigski and the patron saint of Experts himself @Jaxom 1974 have earned spots this year. Sounds like Mcbigski is in for next year. Jaxom are you? Every other league champion is already in experts so we don't have a 3rd qualified team. Think we've previously decided in such circumstances to allow the 3rd Jaxomed team a stay of execution so big day for @Jace, Basilissa
  7. We have our finals contenders. BL puts up another monster score (189) to defeat WJ and considering how he's finished the year, has to be considered the favorite. In the other semi, Drac edges me out by 5. Finals - (2) Drac vs. (4) BL Good luck, both.
  8. BL's team looking scary in the Wildcard round putting up a 195. Not much Dunk can do running into a buzz saw like that. JJ, thought you had me early Sunday. Then in the second half of the early games that machine that was cranking out points for you just stopped. Felt fortunate - gave me a chance to climb back into it. Semis are now set: (1) WJ vs. (4) BL (2) Drac vs. (6) JL
  9. Final Power Rankings/Record/Points 1) Whiskeyjack - 78-39 (8-5) 2,045 points 2) Lord Dracarys - 72-45 (8-5) 2.039 points 3) JJ Lannister -70-47 (8-5) 2,009 points 4) Jaime L - 66-51 (7-6) 2,071 points 5) RaceBannon - 64-53 (7-6) 1,977 points 6) Dunknegg - 62-55 (8-5) 1,891 points 7) boiled leather - 60-57 (8-5) 1,941 points 8) Jace, Balissa - 44-73 (6-7) 1,722 points 9) Fuentez - 43-74 (3-10) 1,729 points 10) Mya Stone - 26-91 (2-11) 1,538 points Coming into week 13 of the 4 teams on the playoff bubble Race was best positioned based on wins and points. Even had a shot at a bye. And then just the perfect storm of things going wrong happened. I won, BL won, JJ put up a big score against him, his team didn't do enough and just like that he found himself outside the playoffs. Based on any measure, record/points/power ranking, he's probably the best team to ever miss the playoffs in Experts. It's the cruel result of the unprecedented parity of this Experts season. There were 7 very good teams and no great ones. 7 won 7 games or more but no-one won more than 8 games which is something I've never seen before. 4 teams got over 2,000 points but no-one got to 2,100. Was a strange season where a bunch of teams went really hot at times and really cold at other times. It makes the playoffs absolutely impossible to predict. Seeds are now set: Playoffs 1) WJ - Bye 2) Lord Dracarys - Bye 3) JJ vs. 6) JL 4) BL vs. 5) Dunk Survived Race - Safe by power ranking Jaxomed Mya, Fuentez, Jace in that order. Good luck to the playoff teams. And to the Jaxomed teams and their efforts to save themselves.
  10. Week 12 Power Rankings/Record/Points 1) Whiskeyjack - 75-33 (8-4) 1,917 points 2) Lord Dracarys - 67-41 (7-5) 1,899 points 3) RaceBannon - 63-45 (7-5) 1,860 points 4) JJ Lannister - 62-46 (7-5) 1,837 points 5) Jaime L - 57-51 (6-6) 1,885 points 6) Dunknegg - 56-52 (7-5) 1,730 points 7) boiled leather - 53-55 (7-5) 1,779 points 8) Jace, Balissa - 42-66 (6-6) 1,603 points 9) Fuentez - 39-69 (2-10) 1,599 points 10) Mya Stone - 26-82 (2-10) 1,430 points A lot to cover. Jace has won 4 in a row and yet BL's win this past week has effectively eliminated her both from playoff contention and has Jaxomed her. She can beat BL this week and finish 7-6 but she trails all the other potential 7-6 teams by 127 points at least and there's guaranteed to be at least 6 other teams 7-6 or better. On the Jaxoming front she trails all the possible teams that could miss the playoffs by at least 11 power ranking wins. No way to make that up in one week. She made a valiant desperate stab at making the playoffs at end of the season but looks to have ultimately come up short. Sorry Jace, helluvan effort. Jaxoming Update Thus Jaxomed: Mya, Fuentez, Jace in that order. Their main hope to stick in this league is to win another league. Playoff Update WJ and Dunk have made the playoffs with 8 wins each. Drac has also effectively made the playoffs with 7 wins and 1,899 points scored. There is a small path for Drac to miss the playoffs where Drac loses to Mya AND BL AND I both win AND JJ outscores Drac by 62 points OR Race outscores Drac by 39 points but that's not super likely. Penciling in Drac as the 3rd playoff team. From there, there's 3 critical matchups for determining which of the 4 teams left is the odd man out for the playoffs (between me, BL, JJ and Race) 1) The first hinge is my matchup vs. Dunk. If I lose, I'm the one who misses the playoffs. If I win, we go to the second hinge: 2) The second hinge is BL's matchup vs. Jace. If BL loses, he only makes the playoffs if I lose. Otherwise he's the one out. If BL wins he makes the playoffs. If BL and I win we go to the third hinge: 3) The third hinge is JJ's matchup vs. Race. If BL and I both win, then the loser of this matchup is out of the playoffs UNLESS: a) JJ loses but outscores me by 48.48 points b) Race loses but outscores me by 25.72 points If either of those happen I'm out of the playoffs. As noted above whoever misses the playoffs between me, BL, Race and JJ is safe by power rankings. Bye Update WJ gets the 1 seed if he beats Fuentez. If he loses, he can still get a bye as long as his point total remains higher than any other 8 win team and only Drac is a likely threat to get a win and outscore him (currently 18 points back). Dunk gets a bye if he beats me. If Dunk loses, the second bye goes to either Drac (if he beats Mya) or the winner of JJ vs. Race. In this scenario the winner of JJ vs. Race would need to make up their respective points deficits to Drac to get that bye. There are some other longshot (<1%) scenarios that could defy the above analyses where someone blows up points-wise in week 13 but they're too remote to go into detail here. Good luck all.
  11. Week 11 Power Rankings/Record/Points 1) Whiskeyjack - 66-33 (7-4) 1,747 points 2) Lord Dracarys - 65-34 (7-4) 1,780 points 3) JJ Lannister - 57-42 (7-4) 1,692 points 4) RaceBannon - 56-43 (7-4) 1,706 points 5) Dunknegg - 55-44 (7-4) 1,628 points 6) Jaime L - 51-48 (5-6) 1,738 points 7) boiled leather - 45-54 (6-5) 1,610 points 8) Jace, Balissa - 39-60 (5-6) 1,463 points 9) Fuentez - 35-64 (2-9) 1,458 points 10) Mya Stone - 26-73 (2-9) 1,367 points Wow, after a bunch of dull weeks a ton happened this week. First, the incredibly tense drama in the WJ-BL matchup this past week. The two highest scoring teams in week 10 faced off and ultimately the matchup swung in WJ's favor on a 10 yard Hunter Henry catch on 4th down with 40 seconds to go. And it nearly swung to a BL win had any non-Henry Charger been able to score a TD on that final drive but Felipe Rios' pick in the end zone sealed it. One of the harder luck losses I've seen for BL. That matchup has big playoff circumstances as the league got a lot tighter record wise. 5 teams with 7 wins, 1 with 6 wins and 2 with 5 wins all gunning for the playoffs. The only thing clear at this point is Mya and Fuentez will be Jaxomed almost certainly in that order. Their hopes of sticking in Experts depends entirely on what they can do in other leagues now. Beyond that, a bunch is up for grabs. Here's the remaining schedules for the other 8 teams: WJ - Plays Race, Fuentez Drac - Plays Jace, Mya Race - Plays WJ, JJ JJ - Plays BL, Race Dunk - Plays Mya, JL BL - Plays JJ, Jace JL - Plays Fuentez, Dunk Jace - Plays Drac, BL The 5 7-4 teams all have shots at the byes if they can finish 2-0 and it's hard to see any of them missing the playoffs short of laying a complete egg in the final two weeks. Drac and WJ have the inside track on the byes based on points scored. The main pivot point now is BL at 6-5 and whether Jace or I can finish ahead of him for that 6th playoff spot. If BL beats JJ, we'll have a minimum of 3 7-5 teams in the league (and potentially more), Jace will be eliminated (see below), and the question then is whether I can get to 6-6 and put pressure on those teams. Because Jace is lagging from a points scored perspective, she needs both to go 2-0 and for BL to go 0-2 (and for me to go no better than 1-1) to both make the playoffs and stay in the league outright. But because she plays BL in week 13 she has some control over this. Beyond that because of the relatively tight bunching in records and points scored, it's hard to draw to many other conclusions unless any of y'all are seeing something I'm not. Good luck, all.
  12. You still got a shot - there's a few scenarios where you stick (including even making the playoffs) but you'll need things to break your way and help. I would recommend scoring a bunch and also winning another league y'know just to be safe.
  13. Week 10 Power Rankings/Record 1) Lord Dracarys - 61-29 (7-3) 2) Whiskeyjack - 57-33 (6-4) 3) Dunknegg - 52-38 (7-3) 4) RaceBannon - 51-39 (6-4)5t) JJ Lannister - 50-40 (6-4) 5t) Jaime L - 50-40 (4-6) 7) boiled leather - 37-53 (6-4) 8t) Fuentez - 33-57 (2-8) 8t) Jace, Balissa - 33-57 (4-6) 10) Mya Stone - 26-64 (2-8) Alright we're through week 10 which means in Experts the pre-playoffs begin. Experts is unusually orderly this season. The 6 teams in line for the playoffs still are up 2 games over me and Jace. Of the 4 teams out of the playoffs, after a big week I have a 17 game power ranking edge over the bottom three. Stranger things have happened but that's incredibly difficult to make up in 3 weeks. If things hold we know our 6 playoff teams already and we know the 3 who will be Jaxomed (Mya, Jace and Fuentez in that order). The only likely potential drama from a Jaxoming standpoint arises if I'm able to catch BL in the standings. In that scenario, Jace or Fuentez could both very reasonably catch him in power rankings and save themselves. For Mya, it's looking like that's likely a bridge too far at this point unfortunately. Jace plays BL in week 13 so she maybe can help her own cause but will need some help beforehand for that to be a potential loser leaves town match. BL faces WJ and JJ the next two weeks so not an easy schedule so not ready to pencil in his playoff appearance just yet. But a win this week over WJ will go a long way to solidifying his positioning. Race, JJ or WJ could still end the season on a 3 game losing streak and miss the playoffs but all look to be safe from a Jaxoming standpoint regardless. Outside of that a bye or maybe two is still up for grabs depending on how Drac/Dunk finish vs. the 4 6-4 teams.
  14. Week 9 Power Rankings 1) Lord Dracarys - 56-25 2) Dunknegg - 51-30 3) Whiskeyjack - 49-32 4) RaceBannon - 47-345) JJ Lannister - 43-38 6) Jaime L - 41-40 7t) boiled leather - 31-50 7t) Fuentez - 31-50 9) Jace, Balissa - 30-51 10) Mya Stone - 26-55 Race remains on fire and is now just about in the upper tier. I remain colder than Antartica and it's reaching the point that I need to be concerned that I'll be able to stick in this league. We have a 2 game gap between the top 6 (Drac, Dunk, Race, WJ, JJ, BL) and the bottom 4 (me, Jace, Fuentez, Mya). One of the bottom 4 could get hot and still make the playoffs but very likely the playoff tier and the Jaxoming tier look to be solidifying.
  15. Week 8 Power Rankings 1) Lord Dracarys - 48-24 1t) Whiskeyjack - 48-24 3) Dunknegg - 44-28 4) Jaime L - 39-33 5) RaceBannon - 38-346) JJ Lannister - 37-35 7t) Jace, Balissa - 27-45 7t) boiled leather - 27-45 9t) Fuentez - 26-46 9t) Mya Stone - 26-46 WJ and Race remain very hot. Fuentez and I remain very cold. The league itself remains preternaturally averse to any kind of close matchups or late drama. Jace, Fuentez and Mya are officially now on the Jaxoming bubble but there's still time left for any to get hot and save themselves.
  16. Week 7 Power Rankings 1) Lord Dracarys - 47-16 2) Whiskeyjack - 41-22 3) Jaime L - 36-274) Dunknegg - 35-28 5) JJ Lannister - 31-32 6) RaceBannon - 30-33 7) Fuentez - 26-37 8) Mya Stone - 24-39 9) Jace, Balissa - 23-40 10) boiled leather - 22-41 Big time tightening in the power rankings this week. The bottom teams grabbed almost all the top spots in the power rankings this week while Drac finally suffered his first loss, Dunk lost as well and my slide has now reached 4 games with a Mahomes injury on top of it. This league is getting awfully hard to predict week to week so I'm not even gonna try.
  17. Week 6 Power Rankings 1) Lord Dracarys - 44-10 2) Jaime L - 35-193) Dunknegg - 33-21 3t) Whiskeyjack - 33-21 5) Fuentez - 26-28 6) JJ Lannister - 25-29 7) RaceBannon - 23-31 8) boiled leather - 18-369) Jace, Balissa - 18-36 10) Mya Stone - 15-39 As noted above JJ wins hardest luck loser of the week but there's always the consolation of power rankings in this league. The Fuller trade ended up backfiring for WJ as he dropped 3 TDs in his lineup while 2 bench WRs combined for 5 TDs but still put up a massive score for the week, got the win and has climbed to the upper tier in power rankings. Drac remains undefeated with another big score. He and Dunk have now distanced themselves from the rest of the league record wise. 7 teams are now 3-3 or 2-4 so as always it's shaping up to be a thin line between the playoffs and Jaxoming.
  18. Except Austin Hooper who is now godly, while OJ Howard has become the worst person in America named OJ.
  19. Week 5 Power Rankings 1) Lord Dracarys - 37-8 2) Jaime L - 33-123) Dunknegg - 27-18 4) Fuentez - 25-20 5) Whiskeyjack - 24-21 6) RaceBannon -18-27 7) JJ Lannister - 17-288t) Mya Stone - 15-30 8t) boiled leather - 15-3010) Jace, Balissa - 14-31 Drac wins the battle battle of undefeateds and goes to 5-0 with another monster score while Dunk falls to 4-1. I was an 85% favorite over WJ at one point Sunday but that was before Aaron Jones destroyed worlds in the afternoon games. It's still early but this year is shaping up to have a particularly intense Jaxoming race. Only 3 power rankings win separate being the first one out and being safe.
  20. Week 4 Power Rankings 1) Lord Dracarys - 28-8 2) Jaime L - 27-93t) Dunknegg - 23-13 3t) Fuentez - 23-13 5) Whiskeyjack - 16-206) Mya Stone - 15-217) JJ Lannister - 14-22 8) Jace, Balissa - 13-23 9) RaceBannon -11-2510) boiled leather - 10-26 A massive amount of tightening in the power rankings this week in super low scoring FFL week. We had clear trends the first few weeks that reversed in week 4. Looks like Jace ain't out of this thing yet. Also Dunk beat me so he and Drac remain the two undefeateds this week. We also now have 5 1-3 teams which only ups the tension for playoff spots and Jaxoming.
  21. Week 3 Power Rankings 1) Jaime L - 25-22) Lord Dracarys - 24-3 3) Dunknegg - 16-114) Mya Stone - 15-12 5) Fuentez - 14-13 6) Whiskeyjack - 10-177t) JJ Lannister - 9-187t) boiled leather - 9-189) RaceBannon - 8-1910) Jace, Balissa - 5-22 For those not paying attention Dracarys had some really big news this week. He put up the highest single week score in Experts (236.48) since me in 2013. Had to look it up because I was curious. Way to go, Drac. Definitely helps ease the sting of being the one left holding AB when he got cut for the 2nd time this season. Super close matchup between WJ and Race that hinged on whether David Montgomery could get 6 points on MNF. Didn't look like it all night and then with 5 minutes to go in the game starting ripping off 9-10 yard runs to flip that matchup. Mya's roller coaster season from the nightmare of an autodraft to a shockingly good first two weeks now is back on a down swing after losing Saquon for who knows how long. I'd analyze the fallout from the trades this week but there were too many to name. At the end of the day WJ and Jace each made 3 trades. Neither got the win this week but really it's all about what it means for them the rest of the way and right now way too early to say.
  22. Week 2 Power Rankings 1) Jaime L - 18-02) Lord Dracarys - 15-32t) Mya Stone - 15-34) Dunknegg - 8-104t) JJ Lannister - 8-104t) Fuentez - 8-10 7t) boiled leather - 7-117t) Whiskeyjack - 7-11 9) RaceBannon - 4-1410) Jace, Balissa - 0-18 Like America, the power rankings are starting to reflect a steep divide between a small cabal of coastal elites and a large underclass. So far Dracarys, Mya and I are looking like early contenders though 2 weeks does not a season make. Of note, Mya's autodraft is looking deeper than it did at first glance and her trade with JJ netted her 3 solid starters that have filled the gaps. Sanders alone almost pulled out the week for her in a tight one against me. The trick will be sustaining this when the byes start but already has built a strong base of power ranking wins. On the other end of things, think it's already time to worry for Jace. Just a brutal week of injuries and no shows in the starting lineup while her bench went off. At the last the latter provides hope to turn things around, but it needs to start now to get out of this early hole.
  23. True, didn't realize how much week 1 last year was like this year. And week 2 last year had 3 teams over 184, Still haven't mentally adjusted to the new normal.
  24. Starting a new thread as the last is well over 400 posts and because I checked the calendar and apparently it's actually 2019. Week 1 Power Rankings 1) Jaime L - 9-0 2) Lord Dracarys - 8-1 3) Mya Stone - 7-2 4) boiled leather - 6-3 5) Dunknegg - 5-4 6) JJ Lannister - 4-5 7) Fuentez - 3-6 8) RaceBannon - 2-7 9) Whiskeyjack - 1-8 10) Jace, Balissa - 0-9 Biggest surprise of the week has to be Mya's autodraft team putting up a 190+. Also got 60 points out of the 3 players she traded for and all of a sudden looks like a scary team instead of a tragic autodraft team. Can do the sliding doors thing, but it doesn't appear the couple trades affected any week 1 outcomes as there weren't terribly close matchups in week 1. Beyond that was a very high scoring week in general. Can't recall a week with 3 teams over 190, and the 233 my team put up looks to be the highest score in several seasons. I'll take it compared to how I started the last couple seasons. Week 1 had some extreme boom/bust performances. I'm expecting week 2 to be a return to a more normal, more competitive, less extreme week...but we shall see.
