Does anyone really give a shit if Woolworths drops Australia Day products?

I always feel a bit cringy walking past these sale displays anyway.

I just cannot process the time since these losses. :(

But yeah, The Voice is certainly harder to explain than say, the decision to count Aboriginal people as part of the census (‘67 referendum). The model for the republic was also a bit hard to explain…not a good omen.

And we are not very good at making constitutional change. Whether that is due to the requirements that need to be met or just stubborn refusal to engage is the question.

I saw a pic from the Fitzroy River Lodge.  Comparing the water level to how it was when I was there in 2021, the entire car park would have been under water.  Devastating.

Off the top of my head, I think there was one time when all the States were Labor and the Feds were the LNP, but I can't be sure.  It certainly seems to be peak Labor at the moment.

After the smashing they got in WA at the last vote, they commissioned a review.  They found a systematic interfering by a bunch of Lib high flyers that all but guaranteed that the candidates would be religious conservatives.  But they still blame McGowan's performance during Covid for the results.  There is serious cognitive dissonance on display in the LNP nationally IMO.  The business-focussed moderates of my parents' day are gone, and the fundies are leading the downfall.

So the Victorian election campaign is throwing up some good stuff.

The LNP sledging of Dan Andrews is woefully inept. It's like the ads are written by parody accounts.

And while they are universally failing to score any hits, the LNP is itself being investigated by the Electoral Commission for irregularities in its campaign.

Best places to see the wildlife will be in dedicated parks. It's likely to be hard to find Quokkas outside of the Perth region. Mainly they are on a little resort island offshore called Rottnest.

Longest section I've done is from Perth to Vic snowfields. The highway across the Nullarbor was boring and straight - best to do it in shifts or short chunks.  NW WA from Broome to Kununurra has good road surfaces but lots of hazards - mustangs, cattle and camels. Best not to drive at night there. Can't speak for the east coast. Tassie has the worst roads in my experience, and lots of roadkill.

My in laws have done it twice, using camper van, and they do it in manageable chunks.

The nationwide reaction to Cassius Turvey's murder has been encouraging. I have noticed the odd dogwhistling reaction by racists on social media, but overall it has seemed positive. I watched the march go past in the Perth CBD yesterday and there was strong support from observers.

On a side note note, I never realised your grandparents lived in the Midland area, Pax.  Mine did too.  Mum's family were from Midvale and Dad's were from Bellevue. Was it your dad's side or mum's? I will see if my mum remembers them!

In short, no. The site stays in performance mode while the show is on, due to the incredibly high traffic volume.

Once the show has finished for the season things get back to normal fairly quickly.

Admin's decision will not be revisited on this issue.

The previous thread was deleted by Admin due to open discussion of leaked material. As it stands, I understand it will not be reinstated for that reason.

Investigating it now. It may take a while due to board traffic and other issues atm. :)
