  1. This episode of X-Men 97 would never have been made for a Saturday Morning Cartoon
  2. 6 years later, three suspects of murdering councilwoman Marielle Franco were arrested The explanation why it took so long is simple: the investigation conducted at the time by Rio's state police"may" have been hindered by the fact that one of the suspects was...the chief of police
  3. He announced he's leaving clearly so he doesn't get fired during the season
  4. Reports are that Jordan Henderson is unhappy at Saudi Arabia and wants to leave. For news like these the term schadenfreude was invented.
  5. But then you have to introduce Doom, explain who he is. I'm guessing he'll be the Phase 7 bad guy, taking over the world maybe.
  6. 1) Mourinho at his prime, probably. Though Arrigo Sachi was supposedly so terrible he didn't even play for his factory's team. 2) Maradona.
  7. Regarding the Brazilian league, the biggest story of the season was Botafogo, that had the best first half of the campaign in history, was at one point 13 points ahead of 2nd place...and finished 5th, including losing by 3-4 two home games they opened 3-0. Worst bottle job in the history of football, surely.
  8. Yeah, pretty much. The problem is that the club received a lot of money in sales of players like Neymar and Rodrygo, but somehow always wasted it (and in many cases, the people that ran the club almost certainly pocketed part of it). It's not just a matter of players, because there are comfortably another 4 or 5 that finished ahead of it. They also insisted in hosting games in the old and cramped Vila Belmiro (which doesn't even fit 15.000 people) rather than playing in São Paulo in a larger stadium (which is something they did in the past).
  9. That Forbes article mentions everyone but Dr. Strange, which seems the most logical choice to me.
  10. Which makes again the reluctance to introduce X-Men and F4 look absurd.
  11. You explained yourself- Argentina has a 150% inflation rate and the other guy was the finance minister. Hard to beat even a lunatic with that in your corner.
  12. I can't say about all of them, but Hertha and Genoa are not very well run either. Sevilla won the EL again recently, but almost by accident and a very poor La Liga
  13. 777 Partners bought here in Brazil a club in a very similar situation than Everton (Vasco da Gama)- one of the biggest clubs historically and in numbers of supporters, but one that due to chaotic or corrupt administrations, hasn't been a real contender for titles in a long time- and hasn't improved them in any way.
  14. He played 30 more games, had a lot more penalties, and still only surpassed him in the FIFA official numbers because they don't count friendlies between national teams and clubs, which were common back in Pelé's day
  15. Anthony has been cut from the Brazil squad for the WC qualifiers due to the accusations against him, Gabriel Jesus was called in his place
  16. Brazilian press is reporting, with pictures and prints, that United's Anthony allegedly physically abused his ex-girlfriend, and she pressed charges.
  17. I agree this doesn't look too interesting. Iman Vellaini was genetically engineered to play her role, but after seeing Kang and the High Evolutionary, it's very hard to care about a Marvel movie with a generic villain and another generic big fight coming at the end.
  18. From what I've seen of him, Angelo has potential, but nothing that can make him say he'll be a world beater yet. He made his debut as a pro younger than Pelé, which of course led to massive hype, but the fact he has more than a 100 games for Santos probably says more about the fact their team for the last two or three seasons is awful than about him being ready. Chelsea will probably have to loan him out.
  19. Two very big news from Brazil this week: Today, Brazil's highest electoral court barred Bolsonaro from running from office until 2030 This specific case was about Bolsonaro using his office and public money to spread lies about Brazil's electoral system in a meeting with ambassadors. While he can appeal, it's unlikely he'll have the chance to be president again. And in news that are in the long-term more important the 2022 Brazilian census was finalized and revealed a massive slow down in population growth, to less than half of what it was in the previous decade. It also revealed some of the biggest cities lost population, particularly Salvador (formerly the 3rd biggest, now the 5th) fpr the first time in history.
  20. Or his in-flight meal had a taste of polonium? Air service isn't what it used to be.
  21. Also, needing Lukashenko to negotiate a deal to save his ass must have Putin fuming. Not a good look
