Hi! I am Stephen and today is my first day wandering in the forums, although I was a member for 1 or 2 weeks now. I just finished aDwD and I've had quite a few questions so I immediately came here!!(actually I just read the Epilogue and it was a hell of a great ending!) I've loved all books, but my favorites were aSoS and for sure aDwD, although I had been spoiled about the RW and another death.

I will have some time until mid-September, but I will then become inactive for Autumn, Winter( :o) and the greater part of spring. Also, I just read the R+L=J theory and I liked it very much :) ((I hope J ain't dead :o)

How many members are active on these forums? (I think this is the most active I've ever joined)

Hello! Despite my user name, I am not from the Philippines (where Cardinal Sin, whose first name was Jaime, of all names, was Archbishop); I am sure the weather is much nicer there than here in the UK though! Neither am I religious really ;)

My name's Chris. I'm a college grad in Reno, NV who works for a contracting firm directed toward power plants (mostly nuclear). I only recently read ASOIAF, but I loved it! And I came up with a whole bunch of theories in my head as I was reading and I then came hereto see if anyone else shared my theories. So far, a few people have agreed. :wideeyed:

That's actually one of the options in the poll, if you select "maybe."

It's interesting to see how this rating system is being used in the book threads...it seems to be a very useful tool to express support or dismay, and I haven't seen one boarder bitch about it yet (although I have only read, like, three book threads so I might be way off base there).

Come to think of it, it seems to be used pretty well in the Entertainment threads I visit. Is it being used in the sports threads, and if so, have there been any meltdowns over it?

I wonder if the results of this poll would be different if it was stickied across the board, rather than just in GC?

Frosty, can you please do something about the way you quote people in your posts? Italics, or something? It would make it a little easier to try to figure out what you are trying to say, and it is kind of rude to just copy and paste someone else's words into your post without giving any sort of credit or letting us know who the fuck you are addressing.

How do I get the votes that I wasted on posts that have been deleted back? Or do I have to buy more from Relic?

I voted "don't care", but my official opinion is "Don't care. I'm down for whatever makes people stop worrying about it so much." It kind of reminds me of when I was 6 and my sister was 8 and my mom bought us a new toy to share. We couldn't agree on how to play with it, so after a couple of days, mom took that toy away from us. Forever. :crying:

However this turns out, it has been fascinating to observe the different reactions to the new system. I'm looking forward to the time in the not-so-distant future when we can all look back on the Post Rating Era and laugh at how silly all the drama was. :grouphug:
