    [Book Spoilers] EP309 Discussion

Reading that in the book was disturbing, but seeing it on TV, the real faces, the real tragedy of the moment, just way more powerful. Reading about a terrible traffic accident in a newspaper is never as powerful and horrible as having to witness it. That was sad and tragic, I just felt the horror when the Rains of Castamere started to play. When it went to black, I remembered how much all those years agohow AI rages and freaking HATED THE LANNISTERS!!!! I hope the TV viewers have that now.

I agree. I like the creepy patterns White Walkers did in season 1, nice to see them again. It shows they have symbols and communication, meaning a culture of some sorts. Its no different than Westeros/Essos people mounting heads, haging slaves, etc. It sends a message.

I liked what Cersei did with her chair and the looks she gave, that really setup Tyrion's chair move well. I loved the "Game of Chairs".

The Blackfish was badass, that funeral scene was awesome, Dany/Barristan/Jorah were great, I really liked the Rhaegar reference. What also was cool was seeing Tywin, Varys, Littlefinger, Pycelle, Cersei, and Tyrion all in the same room. The little game of chairs was hilarious, Cersei and Tyrion were funny. Jaime's hand being cut off was a great scene.

The Jaime hand decapitation was a great way to end the episode. Nice guys the Bolton men, :) The Blackfish funeral scene was awesome. I am liking the Blackfish. I liked Dany tonight too, with Barristan and Jorah, and the lines about Rhaegar dying.

How would you rate episode 301?

This was an outstanding opening to the season. The continuing struggle up north, Robb and Roose. I liked Sansa/Shae playing the game about ships, I thought that was a cool scene. It is nice to see the Tyrell/Lannister rivalry rearing its ugly head right from the onset, that is awesome, the long Cersei/Margery arc beings. Tyrion and Tywin, nice to see that exchange. I liked the fact they just put Barristan right there with Dany, that was awesome, the whole Arstan story won't work on TV, so it was cool to cut to the chase. It will give Dany and Barristan more time to sort of connect, it will make it interesting with Jorah, and more Barristan is awesome.
