  1. We have a company come spray some eco friendly stuff around the outside perimeter. The ants get bad around the pool every year. And this year the mosquitoes are off the charts. I get eaten alive when I garden. I have been in a pretty serious battle with squash bugs this year as well.
  2. We are doing very well! Things are great with us. I do believe we got covid very early last year (Mr O was very sick and lost the smell and taste (before that was a known symptom)) but we don’t live in fear of it. Ive also lost a ton of weight so I’m much healthier too! How are you doing? I think the last thing I remember was that you were making a faux fireplace/mantle?! Fill me in on all the awesome R Bee stuff I’ve missed!
  3. Congratulations! I’m so happy to hear you are doing so well! Fantastic news! You will have to catch me up about Mr. wonderful!
  4. Is everyone still locked down or what? cant say there’s much that’s exciting here, but Lil O is turning 11 years old on Saturday! And baby girl turned 3 in June The weather here in the desert has been really really weird. I got stuck in a downpour and violent hail about an hour ago. Keep in mind it’s like 100F. It’s been a very wet monsoon season. Not complaining - it’s just strange. We lost our enormous saguaro cactus that was taller than our house and was like a high rise condo for a bunch of birds. Saguaros can’t handle that much rain. I was so sad about that. I loved that cactus. How are you doing Bucky? Everything is well I hope?
  5. *knock knock* Anybody home? Wanted to check in and see if anyone’s around still! got rid of all the social media so I have no idea what the regulars are up to these days.
  6. This was my biggest mistake when I did prior SS. I should have asked for regional gifts. Those are so awesome!!! I love seeing what people get. Now that we are in a different state where my mail has never been stolen I can participate again next year.
  7. Right? I spent most of the episode going wtf? And wot was that beetle speech? Sansa? Wot? Wot? Wot? But hey, the giant looked pretty neato.
  8. Just so I'm clear because it's been a while since I've read the series: Vargo does not go to the wall and Jon does not know about Bran, correct? :ack: Craster's daughters may actually miss him :ack:
  9. I lol'd my butt off when she said this. Most people believe she's behind it but the show pretty much set it up that it was her. I always wondered if if was Garlan, but I don't think he exists in the show.
  10. I liked that Sansa's expression seemed to indicate that she understood that Ice was now Joff's new toy :( Her ice cold stares were marvelous, as were the ever so tender moments between her and Tyrion.
  11. I < 3 Olenna. Best part of the episode was the Oberyn - Loras gaze, along with the Brienne - Jaime eye lock. Pycelle is such a dirty old fart. And we finally see Varys! The very saddening aspect of this episode is that we will no longer be graced with Jack's immense talent. He's said he's done with acting after this show, which is disappointing because he really, really nailed Joffrey like no one else could
  12. Fat Walda is actually fat!!! I thought they cast a skinny actress so I'm glad to see she's not.
  13. I like the theory but I hate it at the same time! I really want Jaime and Brienne to e d up together. Which I know will never happen because there are no happy endings. It would be nice to put Ice to some good use though.
  14. Last week I defended D&D and said they would somehow write in Tyrions chain because it was important to his character line. I was wrong. This episode didn't need it. Everything was superb. Everything. We get a nice look into the mind of Cersei and just how neurotic she is. We get to see sweet Tommen. Sansa with the doll Ned gave her (that she hated at the time) and the human side of the hound. Jack Gleeson continues to make me despise Joffrey and FINALLY I fell in love with Dilane as Stannis. I even liked Shae. Although I'm wondering more and more if she's taking the place of Dontos? Only mild complaint is that I couldn't understand a word of The National at the end :(
  15. They should have named this episode Can't Understand Normal Thinking. If I had a nickel for every time they used the word I would have... Maybe a quarter? It was delivered most effectively by good old Yara. That was fantastic. The next usage of the word I am most looking forward to is when Arya places a Camel before it. That was simply a classic book moment. So I vaguely remember reading a thread (or 2) about who placed the NW cloaked obsidian in the Fist of First Men. I think the argument was that it was either Benjen or some other recent ranger. If the show is a proper reference then it looks like it is very old dragon glass. Which could mean it was left by someone of the First Men...
  16. I know everyone loves to pick the series apart but I am absolutely in awe of the acting talent that every single episode produces. I mean, these people are amazing in their roles. Even the deviations, to me, are awesome. I had a problem at first getting used to the deviations because season 1 seemed pretty true to the book. But now I just sit back and enjoy the new twists and turns. Kind of makes it new all over again. I thought the Qarth scenes were amazing. I was a little lost with Quaithe but the twist of Pyatt and Xaro really was great. Catelyn was fantastic and Jaime's humor was spot on (although I'm still eagerly awaiting to hear him call "the beast" a wench). The scene with Tyrion and Cersei confused me because I don't remember anything like that happening in the book but it was nice to see the interaction between them. Jon/Ygritte's back and forth was great. I think it would be hard to capture the internal struggles Jon goes through and I think they do a good job with story. And can I get an Amen - miracles do happen - I actually enjoyed Shae's character this episode. Although.... why was the Hound in Sansa's room? Ok - so one minor complaint - where is Varys?? We've seen much of LF but no Varys. Bummer.
  17. I've been holding my criticism on the deviations from the books just to see where the show is going. I have to say that I actually enjoy the changes and understand why they chose to do them. I think they've chosen wisely with their deviations. The KL scene between Tyrion & Cersei was absolutely epic. Viewers probably don't understand the significance of Cersei telling Tyrion she hopes he loves someone, etc., and the stare down he gives her (readers know that he did truly love someone only to have her taken away). If looks could kill... I was floored by naked Osha... But the change worked to get the kids to the crypts. Got to see Rickon, shaggy dog and summer! I'm not sure if I heard it correctly but it sounded like Ygritte said that Jon's brothers had deserted him (wonderful foreshadowing of his own desertion). The snuggling scene was hilarious. I like that Shae actually has a decent scene but I'm not sure how they are going to play that out later. I know that people don't like Jaquen's dart but come on the delivery was great! And I for one am glad to see more of Tywin. He's just awesome. Can't wait to see some Jaime scenes coming up. Although I was caught off guard by the dragons - I'm glad they did it because I always wondered why it never happened in the books. Great episode.
  18. Jack Gleeson just nails his role every episode. He and Dinklage seem to really get the characters and I love watching them.
  19. I was not ready for the how graphic the shadow baby was.... I'm still not even sure what to think. Is this the first scene with Roose? I was surprised that he wasn't part of the Harrenhal scenes. Overall, I liked the episode. I liked how they cut some scenes from the books. I'm having hesitations about where the LF character is going but I have faith that they know what they're doing. I did miss Renly's peach. And Jon Snow.
  20. I keep reading that there will be no Reed's or Olenna. Depending on how the books end, I would think that they would need the Reed children. I really liked them and I hope that they eventually are cast. But does anyone know for sure if they won't be? Same goes for Olenna. Hands down my favorite dialogue to read, I love her to bits and will be so so sad to not have that bit of humor in the show. Just to bounce off a few things mentioned up - thread: I think Alfie will be just dandy as Reek. He seems to really get his emotions across and has in fact managed to make me far more sympathetic to Theon than I was while reading the books. I did notice that Biter still had his nose (I hope I have that correct). I'm wondering if this means that Tyrion will survive the battle with his nose in tact as well. I have to say, this episode really got me to thinking about all of the events coming up and how they will play out. The Direwolves look amazing and I'm wondering if they will do the same for the giants/mammoths. Or if they will even include them (shadowcats as well). Also the CotF.... that should be interesting. Has anybody heard/read anything about the upcoming CG?
  21. I think Lancel and Loras could have switched roles. I think what is off-putting (for me) with Loras is his hair. I was expecting a much prettier man.
