It's not possible to wrap it up in just one season, so if it's really the last one, it will be a complete disaster. And I mean even bigger than so far, which is saying something.

Europe? Europe is overrated. I know, I live there after all. Speaking of which, I just decided to make myself a gift for my 50th birthday and fly to NYC for this year's US Open. Already bought tickets for all semifinals and men's final.

Congratulations! I wouldn't care for crawling, it never brings anything good. After few years of being alone, I'd never change it back into the last couple of years of my miserable marriage. And also, I never had such a good relationship with the mother of my daughters as today.

Call Out To The Fallout (Amazon Prime show)
3CityApache replied to Ser Not Appearing's topic in Entertainment
It has Walton Goggins in it. It tells you all you need to know about it being great. I haven’t played the games either and I’m looking forward to it. -
Watch, Watched, Watching: Anybody but Superman

Huh, that was an underwhelming finale of the otherwise great season of Invincible. Do we have a confirmed renewal for a third season? Or am I missing something and that’s not the end? -
What are you listening to 25 - Passing Emergency Love
3CityApache replied to Lykos's topic in Entertainment
First listening to Ride's new album Interplay was a little disappointment for me, but it's growing on me with every aditional listening. Now I think it's the best of the three albums they released after reunion. -
Yeah, Marvels is definitely better than the box office would suggest. It has quite a bit of humor and semi-coherent plot at least. I wasn't expecting much, and - for what it's worth - was satisfyingly entertained.

Exercise & Fitness: it’s a marathon, not a sprint
3CityApache replied to Iskaral Pust's topic in General Chatter
I managed to stick to my routine of three runs and two swimming pools a week for a few months now. That's about 80-90k running and 14-15k smimming per month. I try to add some strength sessions every now and then, plus, as the Spring finally came, I will be aiming at cycling too. 50k per week would be my initial target. Would be great if I'm able to reach it without decreasing the number of runs/swims. -
Watch, Watched, Watching: Watching Severance and working for Lumon

I understand they were deliberately aiming for a not very well known actress, which probably makes sense. Agreed. -
Watch, Watched, Watching: Watching Severance and working for Lumon

Fun fact: Peasants was one of the books I hated the most when forced to read it at school, but now I just think I was too young for it. Reymont also wrote a book callled A Promised Land (Ziemia obiecana), about industrial Łódź, which was brilliantly adapted for screen by Andrzej Wajda. Also recommend if it’s possible to find it. Peasants movie is very good indeed. Though Mirosław Baka, playing old Boryna is imo the best actor in it by far. I haven’t even seen this girl in anything before. -
Star Wars: Far Far Away From What You Want It To Be

Are we still in the Star Wars thread? -

The Holdovers of course. -
And we're back to the discussion if a great movie should be the one we want to watch again. I think both Trainspotting and Requiem for a Dream are great movies. I watched Trainspotting several times and I would never wish to watch Requiem again. And yet I can't decide which one is better. I certainly didn't get the impression Requiem is unrealistic. It's deliberately surreal, sure, but unrealistic? No.
-
Idk, Trainspotting and Requiem for a Dream are very different IMO. Trainspotting, apart from having a powerful message, is also inherently funny. Requiem is just shocking. And it also depicts all addictions, not just drug addiction. As a matter of fact TV addiction showed by Ellen Burstyn was at least as much shocking as all the rest of them for me.

Not sure how credible this is, but saw this reported in our mainstream media.

I second Polishgenius's opinion about Sandman. Slow Horses is a great adaptation as well.

First two albums of Coldplay were very good actually. That's the later albums that didn't do them any favours.

I'm definitely in the Fallout wagon here, even if, not having played the game, I have no idea what Kalbear's second sentence means. 3 Body Problem looks to me a bit like Lost/Westworld hybrid, and I'm not sure it's a good thing.

All true, and yet I agree they're not even remotely comparable. -
Scott Lynch's Thorn of Emberlain is Not Completed
3CityApache replied to Jerol's topic in Literature
I wouldn't be totally shocked if none of them released anything anymore, but I really do hope at least Lynch does. -
The trailer is hilariously bad, so perhaps they hope people will be pleasantly surprised when it's just mediocre.

Bugger, have I already forgotten so much? Can't figure out what you're talking about here. -
Looks like Spring is finally coming to town. One of the first sunny days this year and around 13 degrees.

Watch, Watched, Watching: Watching Severance and working for Lumon

And it only gets better. I think third season is the best so far, even despite some over the top elements.
