  1. @Ran just as an update, the 431 thing is gone when on ipad or PC - safari and Chrome. But persisted on phone (android) even after clearing everything, restarting Chrome etc. After feeling pretty frustrated I decided to try going incognito and it hasn't happened since.
  2. I suppose it depends on how congress approved it. Are there methods of approving things like aid other than passing bills? A bill can be vetoed, but I have no idea whether there are other mechanisms that wouldn’t be subjected to a presidential veto.
  3. Gotcha. Wouldn’t it work differently depending on how the congress approved it? Like, if it’s a bill the president can veto it, right? And then congress can override the veto? But I have no idea if something like this, approved aid, would be passed on a bill or by some other mechanism?
  4. Yeah, that’s what I meant and failed to express properly. He threatened to withhold stuff that had gone through congress already if Zelensky didn’t say they were looking into Biden regardless of whether there was an actual investigation or not. And then he was impeached for abuse of power and… I wanna say some type of obstruction charge? That’s what I remember, but hey, I barely remember what I had for breakfast today, so take it with a bucket of salt!
  5. Didn’t he threaten that as a way to twist Ukraine’s arm into “finding” dirt on Biden? Weren’t there 2 charges, abuse of power and something else?
  6. I just rewatched it a few weeks back and feel exactly the same way, I liked it even more the 2nd time around. Great fun.
  7. Great job on the SotU. Repugs will not be happy. I particularly enjoyed Kavanaugh’s landscape look and Robert’s sad face when Biden had a dig at SCOTUS. And dem reps and senators and cabinet members did their part, too. And Mike Johnson nodding along behind Biden!
  8. They were at the very least more creative and more… egalitarian since they had targets from all houses and more!
  9. I don’t remember who said or how they phrased it, but it’s something like, “you’re entitled to your own opinions but not to your own facts”. It’s just that so many don’t agree w/ that, both here and irl. Yeah, it can be funny! Sort of like watching the coyote in the Roadrunner cartoon run off that cliff again and again and never learn!
  10. Yeah, I got that, hence my comment on… other internet spaces. I’m gonna leave it there.
  11. And then you found out Insta reels is genius level stuff.
  12. I said necessary, not inevitable. There’s a difference. Wasn’t the American Revolutionary War an uprising against the tyranny of a king/monarchy? People can debate whereas it was necessary but it certainly wasn’t inevitable.
  13. Apologies if I misunderstood but despite what you state above, in your OP you say, “With the revelation of the outline letter, it was revealed that Martin had envisioned a romance between Jon and Arya. Since then, it has been debated for years whether this idea continues. In this video we discuss the signs of JonArya.” Also, I have asked for clarification but you keep ignoring it and not replying:
  14. True. And thinking back it felt somewhat problematic even then? I don’t know, maybe my memory is being coloured by a disgusting prank Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand played on Andrew Sachs some years back. Now that’s a great idea for a binge rewatch!
  15. Or US and UK soldiers invading Iraq, and under false pretenses?

  17. I listed the reasons why. 1. the outline was made up to satisfy demands of the publisher or whoever. This by itself has meaning irt how likely or unlikely the theory is. 2. In typical Martin style, where he creates all sorts of highly dysfunctional relationships between relatives, random people, etc, he makes the best possible big brother - little sister relationship be between 2 characters who are not siblings. Similar to how Brienne and Dunk are the best, truest knights even though neither is a knight. 3. There was no Cersei in that outline. It seems Martin wanted sibling on sibling incest outside of the Targ line - at least apparently outside of it since there is a theory that claims it’s Jaime and Cersei who are Aerys’s not Tyrion. If true, could their incest be a clue to their parentage? Regardless, this is the alleged non-Targ sibling on sibling incest he went with. Since I don’t believe the story is supposed to be a manifesto on how awesome incest is, having several more couples engaging in it outside of the Targs seems a bit over the top. No idea what you’re referring to here.
  18. You mean the outline where Martin says he was making shit up b/c the publisher or whoever was demanding one? The outline where there is no Cersei yet? The Cersei who he would then come up with to have the weird apparent non-Targ sibling on sibling incest? That outline? The story we are reading is not the same story. There’s nothing to Jon and Arya as a romantic pairing, despite the weird shipping of some readers who are into incest, I guess? Martin wrote the relationship between Jon and Arya as the best sibling relationship in the books, even though they’re not siblings. And the weird apparently non-Targ toxic incest went to Jaime and Cersei.
  19. Minnesota had 19% uncommitted. I also heard somewhere they’re expecting a good turnout in WA. Oh, and Dean Phillips dropped out. https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/minnesota-uncommitted-vote-beats-dean-phillips-minnesota-primary/ Joe Biden 171,299 71% W Uncommitted 45,942 19% Dean Phillips 18,994 8% Marianne Williamson 3,487 1%
  20. Laughter tracks are the worst! Agree w/ you guys re MitM, it was a great show. As to animated comedy shows,I never really got into The Simpsons - please don’t stone me. But I do love me some South Park!
  21. No way of knowing whether it's true or not - though I tend to think it is. But I’ve seen a couple of interviews/pods where Kara Swisher was talking about her new book Burn Book and in itshe talks about fElon’s interactions & reactions with and to both Trump and Biden. She speaks of convos she’s had with Musk when he was sort of flirting w/ the idea that “maybe he’s not that bad” (or something) and after her advice against getting closer or whatever, Musk would have told her he would be able to guide or direct him or something along those lines. And Biden… this is actually quite funny and typical Musk btw, Musk started hating him b/c there was some big do at the WH for unionised electric car makers and Musk wasn’t invited and got infinitely butt hurt about it. Of course, Tesla is not unionised, so. But if true - and I don’t see her putting that in a book unless it is true - it’s hilarious and typical Musk behaviour.
  22. Me too. It was happening a lot on all devices and different browsers, then it stopped completely, and now it’s back with a vengeance. I’m also getting another error msg that says, “ 400 Bad Request Request Header Or Cookie Too Large nginx/1.10.2
  23. @AncalagonTheBlack I’m really looking forward to it! Especially w/ the bonus of featuring two of my all-time faves, Julianne Moore and Nicola Walker.
